The full APC experience 😁

"My junior brother’s property, which he has owned for over 15 years, was demolished in Lagos without any court order. What kind of lawless country is this? If they treat local investors like this, how do they expect foreign investors to come?"

– Mr. Peter Obi reacts to the demolition of his brother’s property yesterday in Lagos.

Well, People like El-Rufai must have lawyered up. EFCC investigating him will only involve him appearing in court maybe once in 4 months and he will never be locked-up unlike the common ma having EFCC issue.

That will definitely not stop him from doing what he is currently doing .

I doubt there's really any effective way of "punishing" people like him
dey dia

did you not see how ganodollar took over and demolished sanusis properties?

Fake court order, zero notice, just like that his brother's business place of 15years is gone..

https://www.nairaland.com/8459174/peter-obi-laments-demolition-brothers
the story has plenty of kleg

he did not name the company
he did not show picture of the facility before
no video or picture of when the demolition was happening

he says it is his youngest brother but from a google search he has two siblings Reverend Fr. Fabian Obi and Reverend Sister Martina Obi.

the reverend is his older brother

Meet Rev Father Chinwuba Fabian Obi, Peter Obi’s elder brother.
He’s the current rector of Blessed Iwene Tansi Major seminary Onitsha.
and this has absolutely nothing to do with LASG so for all we know if a demolition actually occurred - it may be his fellow businessman behind it

So many blank spaces to Obi's demolition story, that even if it were true, the person behind it will have ample time to fill it with their words against yours.

Nothing is impossible in Nigeria sha, but it is possible the property was already having a court case, before his brother bought it. 10 years ago is not that long.

Some of the lands sold today, have court cases lingering as far back as the 70s.

Infact, the families contesting the land have learnt not to warn anybody again. Buy at your own peril. Whenever they win, they will then sell it at a very exorbitant price, of which you won't be able to say no.

It may not have anything to do with him politically

na so we dey see am

we started renovation of a site october 2013 i think. in orile. was an operational station.the day we took over completely one family came and slapped takeover notice on the site. site had been in court for over 10 years and they had won over a year ago. we had literally recently renewed paid a sub lease to a person who no longer had any rights to the site. angry

they basically waited for us to start construction and then blindsided us. we had to buy the land from them at their price. project was on hold for 6 months.

also - they started demolishing peter obis youngest brother property over the weekend, and some how no one informed the brother until tuesday ? that can only mean the property was actually abandoned. no security, no aboki , no workers?

quite literally it is only peter obi and the person taking the picture. somehow all the people who occupied the building all this while and are suddenly out of work did show up for evacuation and recovery

Exactly why I said the story has so many blank spaces.

I will not be quick to doubt him oh. Nigeria is one funny place that anything can happen and has happened

But he should have probed further first, before concluding it was targeted.

Did that stop Sanusi from opposing Gandollar till date?

Read my post again, I said there's nothing effective u can really do to "punish" people like Elrufai that will make them stop what they are doing.

They stash their loot abroad to avoid politically-motivated attacks (aka stories that touch).

Tinubu can also give borrow a leaf from OBJ's book and give him the Atiku treatment.
If El Rufai has significant holdings in a Western country, Tinubu can sic the Feds on him.
It's a risky move though because Tinubu is not President for life.
He would have to weigh the odds of retribution after he leaves office.

To be fair, in Nigeria, the term ‘youngest brother’ can refer to a younger cousin, relative, or even someone who isn’t a family member — maybe he even has an unofficially adopted brother lol. But your point still makes sense sha.

I was about to say that too, but he's also right.

It's only when you probe a typical Southerner, that you can now distinguish brothers from cousins.

As long as na the same family, na brother and sister we be.

i would say it is important that distinction is made because the mob is already trying to politicize the issue

peter obis brothers business in lagos was demolished is different from
mr x business was demolished in lagos

allegedly politically motivated action vs random lagos leasehold fkery

Do u know any business venture Elrufai has that can be killed off by government's action or inaction?

https://dailypost.ng/2019/11/27/kano-ganduje-govt-reportedly-demolishes-emir-sanusis-n250m-property/

The Umar Ganduje led Kano State Government has reportedly seized and demolished a property worth N250million belonging to the Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II.

On Wednesday, Daily Nigerian said its investigation with Kano Focus Newspapers revealed that the property, located at Ibrahim Dabo Road, was demolished to pave way for the ongoing flyover and underpass being constructed at the Dangi Roundabout area.

The demolition of structures within the land and the fence was supervised by the Commissioner of Works, Engineer Muaz Magaji, on Friday, 15 November, 2019, days before the Kano High Court presided by Justice Usman Na’abba nullified the law that created new emirates and the emirs in Kano.

On anonymity, some officials of the Ministry of Lands, disclosed that Emir Sanusi purchased the 1.2 hectare land in 2010 at the cost of N200million.

They added that the land was recently valued N250million at commercial rate, but the state government insisted that payment would be made in accordance with the statutory land rate.

Sanusi’s Chief of Staff, Munir Sanusi, declined comment.

He explained that the monarch had not given him clearance to speak on the matter.

In his reaction, the commissioner claimed that the Kano government had paid compensation to the emir.

“I can tell you he got the alert. For eight months, this issue has stalled the project, and this project is for public interest. We were even hoping that the Emir would give us the land free to continue with the work”, Magaji said.

“But since he did not give it to us, we decided to engage the service of valuers who valued it according to the statutory land rate because the government does not engage in commercial purchase”.

The commissioner also confirmed that he personally mounted the Grade D9 bulldozer to pull down the said structures.

But sources say statutory land rate the government paid Sanusi was a paltry N4million.
we discussed extensively on how govt was allegedly killing that guy with the beachfront property

same principle

I dont know elrufais properties

but then again - i did not know sanusis properties either
but i am sure wike knos elrufais abuja properties and uba sani knows his kaduna properties

I thought everyone had tacitly accepted that politically-motivated attacks can be damaging.
That's the entire premise of the "After God, na Government" aphorism, no?

Perhaps the few cats like Atiku who appear to be maneuvering year after year is creating a distorted "if you're big, you're big" impression.
Being on the receiving end is not funny.
After the 2027 election, El Rufai should quietly relocate to Dubai for 4 years.

Unless Tinubu just sees him as an irritant and not a major threat.

Very unserious girl. She was visibly angry that ishowspeed didn’t buy her a 10k rolex after taking her to a jewelry store. As she test the watch finish, Speed ask am if she get boyfriend grin grin as he mention Oga Douglas, Speed say him no buy again grin grin

Her anger was that she knows speed can afford the watch easily… Such entitlement is the reason she also compares her pay with that of men.
