Russia had offered a solution. Iran will enrich but with the strict 2015 cap. Russia will evacuate the 60+% enriched uranium stockpile.
A JCPOA reset.
Israel opposed both because Iran is already a nuclear threshold state.
It enriched from the JCPOA limit of 4% to 60% in under a year (2019 to 2020/2021).
That was 5 years ago. If Iran wanted, it would enrich to 90%, but it held off and only intermittently added to its existing stockpile.
In fact, if IAEA reports are to be believed, IAEA already found traces of 80+% enriched uranium, so Iran potentially has a smaller stockpile of weapon-grade uranium.
So like Japan, if Iran retains its enrichment capacity, it will be able to enrich and acquire a bomb at a moment's notice if it finds itself in an existential crisis.
That's the deterrence Iran seeks.

And that's the reason for the war.

On some level, it does appear that Israel has made the tradeoff that they'd rather have a North Korea.

There are no protests in NK, protests occur regularly in Iran.
So there is a chance the regime could be toppled or become a Pakistan where compliant generals manage things.

As opposed to a prosperous Japan.

Growing economy that'll make the mullahs the next CCP or Gulf Monarchs.
And essentially becoming the Turkey/Japan/South Korea of the Axis Bloc on account of Iran's innate technical proficiency.

That is why Iran will sacrifice as many generals, nuclear scientists, and Khamenei himself to retain its nuclear program.
And if Iran does not change its stance, a second war is all but assured.

Trump is a certified weyre with running Mouth, e say "boy does ballistic missile destroyed a lot of buildings and that Israel won't be building bombs anytime soon". I think this shows that Iran truly targeted and destroyed Israel's military bases, and the damage both country suffered was huge.
Thank God the silly war is over, both countries should rebuild and find ways to live in peace...

That expert determined he nuclear facilities were badly damaged, no centrifuge production facilities left and nuclear program put back years. But did admit same as JD Vance that Iran could build back so Israel will need to keep mowing the grass periodically

He also analysed the damage to the mountain and assesses that the dust on the side showed it penetrated deep

So the nuclear goals were achieved and on the battleground, the difference was clear

The US and Israel shared a laundry list of strategic targets and Israel hit all of them, allowing both parties to achieve their goals and exit while still up on points.

My main takeout from this is Iran should stop bullying it's neighbours with terrorist groups. Nobody will have problem with them being successful traders, they should just start behaving themselves
