Thursday night surprise: A joint appearance, handshakes, and smiles. FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and Governor Sim Fubara declared the war “over.” But in the theater of Nigerian politics, is peace ever really just peace… or is it simply the eye of a more strategic storm?

Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, spoke Thursday night about sustaining peace in Rivers State, in an interview with Sunday Moses, President Tinubu’s official videographer.

Wike: We have all agreed to work together. Everything is over. We are members of the same political family. As humans, we have disagreements. We also have time to settle the disagreements. There is no more acrimony. Everything is over. It's a day we have to thank the Almighty.

Fubara: It’s important that this day has come. What we need in Rivers is peace. We shall do everything in our power to sustain peace in Rivers State

Continue fooling yourself peace about what its either the governor finally agreed about the formula and the wike would talk to oga so they handover power to him.

Peace or how to share the allocation. Rivers state is gone. Where in the world will u see thus kind of nonsense. A whole president is presiding on how to share the state resources among between former and new governor. Tinubu is truly a calamity to this country.

They have no other option but to settle it's either they continue fighting foolishly or tinibu and his gang will completely annex rivers state and it's resources.

So Wike is now saying we have agreed to work with the governor after meeting with President Tinubu, but let us be honest, what he really wants is to keep controlling Rivers State even though his time as governor is over. What exactly is in the Rivers State Government House that he cannot let go of? He ruled for 8 years, it is time to allow the new governor lead in peace. This is not about teamwork, it is about holding on to power by force. Nigerian politicians need to take life easy, you will not live forever, and all the money and positions will not follow you to the grave. Use your time to build, not fight. Let the people breathe. Let the system work.
