Rt. Hon. Muktar Aliyu Betara, a member of the Federal House of Representatives, representing Biu, Bayo, Kwaya Kusara and Shani Federal Constituency of Borno State, on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) will on Monday officially declare his intention to run for office of the speaker in the 10th Assembly.

"The race for the speakership is a matter of national significance, naturally attracting the interest of numerous compatriots from all backgrounds and affiliations. This includes the members-elect from other political parties who, in accordance with democratic principles, will have a voice in the process.

His ultimate objective and vision are centered on establishing the 10th House of Representatives as a united and cohesive institution that will work in harmony with all branches of government, particularly the Federal Government led by Tinubu. By doing so, we aim to meet the high expectations of our fellow countrymen and women.

Under the leadership of Hon. Betara, the 10th House of Representatives, with the grace of God, will foster a legislative environment that embraces diverse perspectives in the greater interest of all Nigerians.
He has assured that the 10th Assembly under his watch, would be one united and indivisible legislature that would work harmoniously with all arms of government.

Politicians usually do that to get favor from the actual winner and that’s exactly what people did during the APC primaries where they all picked the form and stepped down for Bola Tinubu.

Now Akpabio who first stepped down is now favored to be the senate president if he wins.

By the way, the middle belt held the position of Deputy speaker and the chairmanship of APC during Buhari administration.

Betara and wase are the two most popular candidates in the race. Anything outside these two will lead to crisis in the house. Tajudeen Abas is the least popular. The members will rebel against the APC on the day of election. I don't know why the party leadership can't sense this.

Let the fight go on.
It will be very hard for the country to progress when those in executive positions are the one handpicking those that lead the legislative arm. Maybe we should just have to arms of government ‘cause those disHonourables and Senators are just a burden on our economy.

Clamoring that he's from the same region/state with the VP-Elect, HE Kashim Shettima, and his ambition does not fly anywhere.

If they get the SGF that will be absolutely fantastic. That zone did very well in the presidential election. But I prefer someone more influential in the zone not lalong.
