Honestly, the way these people talk and behave, you would never believe they are the same people that consume the same cattle they hate so much, from the northerners they detest so much.

It’s a real contradiction.

Ask them to produce their own meat now, and they will be staring at you like Dundee Uniteds.

Don’t be surprised majority of the cattles maybe owned by the indigenes of that state .

During my time in Benin city I witnessed this first hand . Igbinedion own head cattle that had Fulani herdsmen rearing them for him .

This is a special appeal to the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma:

Sir, I'm appealing to your good conscience, to stop open grazing in the city of owerri.
One may wonder what informs the decision of herders and their cows, to roam in the most beautiful capital city in Nigeria.

I appreciate your conscientious efforts in developing all zones in Imo State, but you must not lose focus, by paying lip service to the activities of this herders in owerri (the mirror image of Imo).
Constitutionally, the law permits freedom of persons from one point to another, but must not be done in a manner, as to cause injury, pain or loss to persons occupying a particular geographical space.

Finally, as an indigenous Son of Imo State, it is my desire Imo remains a holiday destination and center of economic prosperity.
Uzodinma's cousins

APC is a cow party, so I'm not surprised. That broom on their logo only represent their witchcraft side.

Open grazing is a menace. Cows smelly dungs are littered everywhere once they pass.....I don't understand why the governor is so silent on matters concerning northerners.....it might come to a head soon.

Cows are now Senior citizens of the country. Some people value cows pass human lives sef.

See talk.

You think SE is not protein reliant? Why do you think that we must all congregate and eat the molested cow meat?

I remember vividly when the same Fulani mandated that COW meat shouldn't be sent down south. The region that was busy crying about MEAT was the SW.

Please understand something....

In the SE we have ..

Goats..local breeds
Rams....local breeds
Cows ...local breeds
Pig meat.... deliciously nourishing
Bushmeat..... plentiful
Fish... plentiful
Poultry... plentiful..both local and foreign species

Stop lumping the SE with whatever region you come from.

Your need for COW meat doesn't represent other regions.

Clear!!!

That's Biafran land.

That's why Nnamdi Kanu called the place a Zoo.

I believe what they primarily need is enlightenment and education, though I must acknowledge that some individuals seem to harbor an innate prejudice against northerners. A sentiment whose origins still perplex me.

The irrational nature of this prejudice becomes particularly evident when you consider that many of these critics have never actually visited the North or interacted meaningfully with northern communities.

Their perceptions seem shaped by stereotypes, media narratives, and second-hand accounts rather than personal experience.

This is especially ironic given that northern Nigeria boasts some of the most hospitable region, where strangers are traditionally welcomed with open arms and treated with remarkable generosity.

What's more concerning is how this bias often leads to sweeping generalizations that ignore the tremendous diversity within north.

Perhaps this animosity originated from historical tensions and political rivalries, but none of these factors justify the blanket prejudice we sometimes witness.

If we're to progress as a nation, we must move beyond these divisive mindsets and recognize that every region has both its challenges and its strengths.

What is wrong with that Not all Fulani people are wicked. If you’re fortunate enough to meet the kind ones, they might even gift you fresh milk as a gesture of goodwill.

The real issue lies in our tendency to stereotype all Fulani as evil because of the atrocities committed by a few, and this generalization is not only unfair but also overlooks the peaceful coexistence of Fulani communities in other parts of West and Central Africa.

Do you know that Fulani constitute a significant population in countries like Senegal, Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea-Conakry, Gabon, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, and Mauritania? Yet, you rarely hear about ethnic conflicts involving them in these regions.

The Fulani problem appears to be peculiar to Nigeria, and this raises an important question Why is Nigeria different The root of the crisis is due to two major issues:

1. Cattle Rustling in Northern Nigeria In states like Zamfara, Katsina, Sokoto, and Kebbi, the conflict began with Hausa cattle rustlers targeting Fulani herdsmen. This led to a cycle of retaliation, with the Fulani pursuing vengeance against not only the rustlers but also entire communities.

2. Farmers Herders Clashes in Central and Eastern Nigeria. For instance, In Benue, Taraba, and parts of Eastern Nigeria, the problem is different. Here, Fulani cattle often destroy farmers' crops, leading to confrontations. When farmers retaliate by harming the cattle or even the herders the Fulani respond with brutal force and aspect of the Fulani is their long memory for grievances; they do not forgive easily and will retaliate no matter how much time has passed.

Sometimes, the locals may have even forgotten the initial offense, but the Fulani will return to settle the score.

I was also told that in the past, if Fulani cattle damaged a farmer’s crops, the victim could report the issue to the Fulani leader Ardo who would ensure fair compensation. This has helped maintain peace before things escalated into the violence we see today.

True, some Fulani groups have indeed been involved in violent acts, but it is important to avoid blanket judgments.

I think understanding the underlying causes rather than outright condemnation of the entire Fulani ethic group is the first step toward finding lasting solutions to the crisis between the locals and Fulanis in some parts of the country.
Ease up with the gaslghting, bro. Fulanis have issues with everyone in Nigeria and they have been slaughtering the indigenous people of this once-great- but-now-comatose-.nation wth utmost impunity.

Open grazing is longer fashionable & practicable.
It should be totally banned in favour of Ranching.
.many other African countries they feed and keep their cows in ranches..but Nigeria that we claim to be giant of Africa we allow cows to be roaming about the city and streets .,is that not shameful

Uzodimgba will never stop cows from grazing even in the high brow areas of Owerri because it's the Fulanis that used supreme Court to make him governor through the back door.
So he owes his governorship to the cows.

Stereotyping Fulani maybe bad, but why have you sterotyped Igbos since after the first coup? Fulanis were the arrow heads calling for Igbo extermination, because 5 young soldiers executed a poorly planned coup.
Don't forget Buhari! The president who came back to power to complete his Igbo annihilation project he couldn't complete in 1966.
Stereotyping Igbos has been the official FG policy since 1970, and I have never heard any of you complain or protest ---in principle.
Why do you suddenly develop amnesia asking if it's ok to stereotype another ethnic group?
