In a landmark move to decentralise the nation’s power sector, Nigerian states now have the authority to oversee electricity generation, transmission, and distribution within their jurisdictions.https://www.legit.ng/nigeria/1661804-tinubu-signs-bill-allowing-states-full-charge-electricity/

The President has signed a new amendment bill to the 2024 bill. He has fully decentralized power and removed the load totally from the federal to the states. |

Good, let's see who the lazy governors are, always waiting to be fed, despite the huge potentials in their states to drive more IGR and build platforms and infrastructure to invite investors into the power sector. |

Full control... Make Adelabu rest small but to be honest, power has improved tremendously and the usual grid collapse has not been the case this year. We expect more competition from the states and lower charges going forward. -Kiss the truth! |

Good development, 0ne Good thing this wey I don't see this government do, there may be others o, I never see, it is now I can join people saying hold your governor, before there was not much to hold the governors for, but because of the transformative nature of electricity, it is very essential that governors take advantage of this very opportunity |

Tinubu is the only president in the history of Nigeria who is in full control of every nuke and cranny of his government. The man’s brain is like a computer |

A highly welcomed development. Much anticipated and long overdue. Much better than the initial priority of the old new National Anthem Agenda. Kudos! |

These implementations would force governors to work actively Now, if your governor is an asshole, it would be too glaring for the blind to see his incompetence I just like the fact that we are gradually coming to the end of dormant governors |

Abandonment of responsibility. Nigeria's operating a quasi unitary government system where most of oil earnings go to the central government. What will the federal government be doing with its lion share of oil revenues aa it leaves states to use their paltry allocations to provide electricity infrastructures? |

No excuses for the governors. They should get to work. |

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 So the thing don pass am and he pushed it to the governors. Next one will be security. He will still push security to governors too. So he actually never had any single solution for power all these while. The same for fashola. I remember them insulting GEJ and OBJ. Power https://www.legit.ng/nigeria/1661804-tinubu-signs-bill-allowing-states-full-charge-electricity/ ![]() |

This is a good development, Enugu state government had already key in, power have improved tremendously now in enugu state, some areas in the band A do witness a long duration of light now, the only challenges now is that electricity bill's have also increased to over 300%, even the name have changed from EEDC (enugu state electricity distribution company) to manpower distribution company now, Nigeria is gradually restructuring into full federation now. God bless Jagaban for this. |

discusant:Exactly!!!!! I remember one saying that communities should foem groups to defend themselves. So which responsibility will Tinubu's FG now take? |
| Re: Tinubu Signs Bill Granting States Full Control Over Electricity by discusant: 1:38pm On Jun 28, 2025 |
Putindbutt:Fraud is in removing the load from the federal government and pass it over to the state governments while federal government still receives the lion share of income from oil and gas and from other sources. |

This is what should have been done when NEPA was sold to incompetent cronies. People need the right to generate and distribute power. The useless DISCOs will sit up or perish. Let those knowledgeable in power generation enter the business. BAT scores high on this one no sentiments. No more electricity subsidizing, no more crazy bills provide real value for money if GTFO. |

Tinubu should also sign Bill that grant full controlling of state resources. E.g is oil and gas. The same with Police and infrastructure. |
