This might offend some people but I’ll still say it: iPhones are not for everyone.

‎I’ve used both iPhones and Androids and as much as I respect the clean UI and camera of iPhones not everyone needs a phone that costs as much as rent in Lagos 😭. Some of us just want a phone that:

‎•Won’t die before 3pm

‎•Charges fast

‎•Has decent camera for weekend pictures

‎•Doesn’t freeze mid-Zoom call

‎•Doesn’t make us check our account balance before buying data 😩

‎I used to think I needed an iPhone until I realized I was basically using a ₦900k phone to scroll Twitter, snap food pics and watch Instagram skits that my Android could’ve shown me the same way 😭. I switched to a realme phone a few months ago and I won’t lie, I had my reservations. I mean, the name alone feels like something you'd see on the back of a power bank 😭 but omo… this phone has been doing the most.

‎✅ Battery that actually lasts (I charge once a day now)
‎✅ No unnecessary heat even during long calls
‎✅ Camera quality? Surprisingly solid.
‎✅ Smooth UI... No glitchy wahala or clutter

‎It’s not perfect sha. The name still doesn’t sit well with me and people still look at me somehow when I say it but if we’re talking value for money, I’m not sure anything else comes close right now.

‎So let's argue:
‎-Do you need an iPhone or is it just vibes and pressure?
‎-What brand are you using that actually shocked you (in a good way)?
‎-And why do we look down on phones with “unpopular” names?
You are not wrong, that's why I don't rate IPhone that much, I prefer android phone because of the freedom to do anything that I want.

Personally I think I prefer iPhones due to their screen reliability and cheap replacement when compared with Samsung
iPhone 15 screen is over 400k
.maybe you are using iPhone 8 that's why the screen is cheap go up a bit from iPhone 13 and get it

My guy, you've said it all, iPhone is a luxury and meant for those who can afford it. There are cheaper options in android that can still deliver what most people need from a phone at a relatively cheaper price. My take is that most people that buy iPhone, buys it to show that they belong to a class
Eyefone is not a luxury. Quit the capping!!!
It's just an overpriced crap. Do you even know what luxury is? Luxury is convenience and ease. It's not really about the price.

Which ease or convenience does eyefone offer over other brands.

Stop consoling and deceiving yarselfs, iphone is a brand and class on it's own, the number one that has always been in competition with Samsung since time 1900.
Apple brand itself is a whole lot
There are lots of apple fans worldwide.
Apple is very solid brand and OS on its own. Those that knows, knows
They didn't beg anyone to over hype or overate them, it's a Nigerian culture thing.
Americans use iphones like everyday normal stuffs, it's only in Nigeria that everything dey different. Same thing with having a car.
The hype around eyefone is not a Nigerian thing. In fact it's a core part of Apple's branding.

Hello, you mean you jailbroke your iPhone phone 15?

If yes I'll like to know if part of the tweaking includes cloning of apps on the iPhone...
no, not jailbreak. My phone is in version 17.0 that came with the phone when I bought it. I’m using trollstore. It’s a tool similar to a jailbreak. It allows for installing modded apps, and tweaking the phone a little.

I use an Apple ID based in the US. I use chippercash for subscriptions. Chippercash is an app that give foreign virtual debit cards.

On point!!!

I just said something like this to someone recently.

Any lady, for instance, who is brandishing an iPhone should be able to explain her source of income.

One of my favourite quotes in this regard

Some people buy things they don't need with the money they don't have to impress people they don't want.

iPhone is for people that don't want intellectual stimulation and want things smotth and easy. Android is for people who love intellectual stimulation and people who want many 3rd party apps as possible. Please don't misquote me I didn't say iPhone are for non intelligent people read my lines well.

"Different strokes for different folks" I say.

Not that people who uses iOS do not know or in conscious of all these. But people put their money where their mouth is and this will go on as long as iPhones prices remain the same.

I don't believe in phones to determine once class, who classified the phones?. People used what is good for them. Phone is a simple machines that get you what you want and everyone can not use same brand. Just like cars or clothing or shoes.
It's ladies that keep making unofficial swaga from phones just like Bold5 babes of those days, where is bold 5 class now. The manufacturer enjoys as Nigerians hype some products and use the opportunity to increase prices.

Most people who get free money tend to splurge on iPhones. I just don't get why you'd spend your hard-earned cash on a pricey gadget when there are more affordable options that might actually serve you better in many ways.

I think most people buy iPhone because most people do not know what they are doing..Does anyone remember Pinging and Blackberry how people behaved like it was their God and they would die without a BlackBerry. The Almighty BB died and people moved on..iv never bought an iPhone even though I can very easily buy one just like how I could always buy STAR Beer but I hate alcohol for the headache it gives. I'm currently using an infinix but my dream is to get a Huawei without Android. I love Huawei Cameras far better than everything else. I feel sorry for people who use Folds. Saw a video of my ex using a Samsung fold and I thank God we did not marry. Her husband is richer than me so a fold will cost him nothing. Even if I was Elon Musk I'd use Android. Anyone who has sensitive documents should avoid using phones altogether. For all of you who think iPhones cannot be hacked it's just plain hype. Do a Google search " iPhone Hacked " and get ready to read about hacked iPhones around the world

Besides, iPhone screens rarely have screen problems and even when they do, they can continue to be used for longer periods than Samsung

Frankly speaking, personally I am not a phone guy, infact both of my phones are over 5 years old, non iphones. But you see my madam and kids all use iPhones. The last one I bought was on Saturday for one of the kids. She had insisted her android would only be replaced by iPhone. Now why does it make sense to me? When my boy wanted to upgrade his older iPhone xr, a very old phone, he got an appraisal of 150k!, howwww? A phone almost 8 years old?. A high end Samsung and other brands you buy for eg 1.8m, in 1 year you cannot get an offer for 1m, in 2 years it will be worth 300k. But with iPhone it is different, it keeps it's value. You pay 1.8m for an iPhone, in 2 years (taking inflation into consideration) if you wish to sell it you can get your 1.8 back or even more.
So from a financial point if view an iPhone is the best invesemts in terms of phones. Ofcourse you know if stolen it is useless to the thief so you also have some sort of security owning one.

Why can’t people love two things at the same time without rubbishing one for the other? I use both OSes and each has its own peculiar strengths and weaknesses. Also, let’s stop criticizing people for buying , and using what their hearts really desire, after all, we all work to enjoy the benefits of our labors. I don’t work like a slave only to end up not getting what I desire just because some bloke on nairaland hates the thing and the people getting them.
I use IPhone for its simplicity, ruggedness, fluidity of Apps (esp social media apps) Whenever you need your iPhone, just pick it up and it does its works flawlessly. The restrictive nature helps protect you from hackers, spammers and phishers and because of this, I don’t even mistakenly put my banking apps and financial information on Androids and windows PCs. My android on the other hand is my go-to for productivity, fun tasks and plethora of other amazing things like screen-splitting and the rest. They are both amazing, just buy you what makes you happy and watch your creator bless you more, life is too short!
