… says zone reserves right to review future with PDP if...

Governor Peter Mbah says he fully stands by the position of the National Working Committee, NWC, the Board of Trustees, and South East Zonal Executive Committee, ZEC, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on the crisis rocking the party.

Mbah also expressed support for the National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting of the party scheduled for Monday, June 30th, 2025, saying that while he was still a member of the PDP, he was “simply fed up with the shenanigans that have more or less made the party an endless circus.”

The governor, who made his position known to newsmen after a closed-door meeting with Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State; Chairman of PDP Board of Trustees, Senator Adolphus Wabara; and the South East Zonal Chairman of the party, Chief Ali Odefa, among others, at the Government House, Enugu on Sunday, equally maintained that the position of the South East ZEC of the PDP to review its future with the party if its stand on the issue of the National Secretary was not honoured remained sacrosanct.

“For the record, just as I stated during my interactive session with Fellows and Members of the Nigerian Guild of Editors in Enugu at the weekend, while I am still a member of the PDP, the South East - and that includes me - reserves the right to review our continued membership of the party if the party is unwilling to put its house in order.

“That was invariably the position adopted during our last South East Zonal meeting held here in Enugu. During that meeting, the caucus noted that the party should not disregard the zone’s stand regarding the National Secretary position.

“To all intents and purposes, this has obviously not been the case. So, there is no doubt as to where I stand on the matter.

“The position of the South East with respect to the National Secretaryship of the party as issued in that communique is sacrosanct,” he stated.

Other PDP chieftains at the meeting include the former National Chairman of the party and BOT member, Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo; Senator Sam Egwu, Iyom Josephine Anenih, Senator Ben Obi, and Hon. Udeh-Okoye, among others.

If you want to defect, just say it with your full chest, you must not always be cunny with words as politicians... And this your statement would make you so stupid and daft, if it's the APC you're heading to, or chooses as your next destination. Regardless, I wish you luck Governor Mbah.

Mark it somewhere this Mbah will defect to APC or he won't win a second term. You can't put your head into controversy as a first term governor
Malinde has nothing to lose. Wike will raise a formidable opposition for Mbah within and outside PDP.

This is another landmine in PDP. They are pouring petrol and waiting die the usual customer to come and contest before setting it on fire.

Mbah won't lose.
Both Wike and Mbah are working for the same candidate. They are like 2 people pulling a single rope from different ends.

PDP must be delivered from the selfish and arrogant Wike. We can't continue to sit back and watch Wike destroy the party.

Where else can he be headed?
Is it LP with 2 Chairmen, the coalition that can't even spell the abbreviations of their coalition correctly or SDP that is a bakery in Jos?

Just so you know, he's been Tinubu's boy before he became Governor of Enugu.

If Mba moves to APC his only saving grace will be for him to ring the election. Staying in PDP no matter the controversies won't affect his chances of winning in Enugu. 2027 is not far we will see how he plays it.

In 2023, despite the LP wave in the East, he won his election.
Even LP supporters campaigned for Mbah. That was when Enugu LP supporters were telling other Obidients to face their states. It was so funny then.

In 2027, even if Mbah decamps to NCNC or Action Group, he will win.
For 2 reasons.

1. He and Wike are playing Pdp. They both AE working for the same candidate.
2. Mbah is relatively performing in Enugu.
3. Other parties can't raise candidates who can defeat him as at today.

One thing I know about MBAH is he is focus on working to develop Enugu cause he knows Enugu people will vote for him regardless of whichever party he belongs to,he is doing well and Enugu people can testify to it, both him and otti are loved by the people not the party

I don't think you understand the politics of Enugu state and what PDP means to them. The only reason LP performed well in Enugu during the last election is not far from its similarity to PDP in the eyes of an average Enugu person. I don't know how best to explain it to you, but look for an unbiased person that lives and understand the mindset of an average 042 person when it comes to party loyalty and let them explain it to you. Voting in Enugu is beyond just politics, it calls into questions their believe system.

Mba will have a seamless victory in Enugu, if he stays in PDP. The issue for him is how will he contest under PDP and support Tinubu under APC. To consolidate his position he might move to APC. I tell you if he does that, he will need to work twice as much as he worked during his last election for him to win. You need to understand the mindset of an average 042 voters. Nevertheless, we will see how he plays his card.

If I may ask which state are you from? Secondly, what do you think APC represents in the eyes of an average 042 voters?

Seyi Makinde will contest election. Seyi Makinde is working for Wike and Tinubu.

Their goal is to divide vote but Seyi Makinde will find out that he is a nobody in the real scheme of things and we will match all of them madness for madness this time around.

I don't know what APC or PDP represent in the eyes of an average 042 voter , but what Peter MBA has done in Enugu so far , we know the future is here and we will vote for him regardless of any party

This is the absolute truth. If Mbah decides to vote under a new party even if that party is headed by abacha's spirit so far as Enugu people know that it's Mbah on the ballot, he will get the vote. I'm from enugu do I know this

If it was based on what sitting government has really done; Buhari has no business winning second term. Tinubu second term should surely be in jeopardy and Ugwuanyi would have been sent packing after his first tenure. grin
