Orphaned FUTA Graduate Denied NYSC Opportunity after JAMB Insists His Admission Wasn’t Approved

This youngster Basola Jamiu Owodunni graduated in FUTA with CGPA of 4.41 and JAMB insists that his admission is FAKE.

The school admission team have checked CAPS (Central Admissions Processing System) and his name is there.

The VC has also reached out to JAMB team and they are still insisting that his admission was not approved.

He has been denied of NYSC. I don’t know why this boy is being treated in such a horrible manner. He is in a very bad place psychologically.

He is an orphan and we have to fight to restore his hope.

I learnt so many people have experienced this in the past. This is really painful!

•Admitted to FUTA for Civil Engineering
•Spent 6.5 years in school
•Graduated in 2024

Now, JAMB says his admission was fake.
After clearance. After results. After project defense.

They locked him out of his portal.
They called DSS.
They handed him to the police.

All because of what? A bureaucratic error?

This boy is an orphan. He has no one. And now his entire life is on pause because of JAMB’s arrogance.

Nigeria’s education system is wicked — not broken. Wicked.

I have an update from JAMB regarding Basola Jamiu Owodunni.

JAMB has emphatically confirmed that his name is not on CAPS (Central Admissions Processing System). Any admissions not captured in CAPS is categorized as FRAUD.

I have requested from Basola Jamiu Owodunni to provide his own evidence on or before Wednesday to enable me take it up, but if he doesn’t provide it then I will back out from the case.

Just imagine the pain and traumatization this young man is undergoing. So much injustice in this nation.

When you fought for eastern candidates affected by JAMB, they called you names. Now a brother from the other side of the divide is also affected and here you are fighting for him too.

Is the "Ophaned" tag necessary?

It's a two way thing, if the admission was fake and he is genuinely unaware (he didn't solicit for any assistance while trying to secure admission), he should get a good lawyer and sue the University for the 4 years that they made him waste.


If he did "runs" to gain admission, well... It is what is it. You can't blame the board.

Not in Nigeria. He needs his NYSC certificate or an exemption letter to get a job in Nigeria.

My advice. Collect ur certificate, apply for a scholarship program abroad and move out of the country if he can.

Get job from where. As far as you didn't go for service or collect exemption letter from NYSC

You are not a ful graduate as far as Nigeria system is involved

Abi... Since the university is not denying his admission, I feel like NYSC isn't such a big deal, he can even leave Nigeria and continue his life abroad.

The only issue now is that his name is already on the internet and this has to be resolved, otherwise it could cause some form of doubt on his qualification. Either ways, may God help him.

If he is wise let him use that opportunity to learn a profitable trade that can at least guarantee 500k + monthly . NYSC at times is a waste of years, get an exemption letter and go use that one year to learn trade bcs if care is not taking he might end up with 30k monthly even when those earning 250k are considered as poor

This is exactly my story. I spent five solid years and after graduation, I was told I got a fake admission.
Having trained myself through out, I felt like taking harmful substances to end my life
