Africa is truly a funny place. 80 year old President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda has been President since 1986. He announced this week that he will be running for President again 2026, a record 7th time! After 40 years in power, the man has not yet had enough. He is the third longest serving President in the word after President Nguema of Equatorial Guinea and President Biya of Cameroun, both Africans! How can the three longest serving living Presidents in the world be from Africa?

As if that is not bad enough, Museveni's first son, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has been positioned to take over from him. General Muhoozi Kainerugaba is not only the head of the Ugandan Armed forces, he is also chairman of the Ugandan Patriotic League, a group that decides more or less who will be President of Uganda.

Africa, who did this to us?

This is why I have the idea of multiple nations in a country

Truth is, it's not that the people support these leaders, the people are not ready to fight, so political thugs are the ones who handle election business on the streets. In Europe and America, people fight no matter your age and level of education. You can't use violence and death to intimidate them if they believe they're fighting justly.

Uganda's GDP has been growing at 7% consistently for the past 30 years. Of course they like his government. Do you know how much more better Nigeria would have been if Obasanjo had his third term?

Muammar Gaddafi comes to mind. Maybe he's a good President. Hence, reason for he's re-election by his people . Before you people start your propaganda and turn Uganda to current Libya.
