Spare me of any preaching bro.

The whole point of taxation is to contribute a fair share toward government expenditure, and I have paid more than enough through indirect taxes. The government can’t preach about proper taxation when they haven’t shown any atom of good faith.

Public schools and hospitals? Really? Most public schools serves as public toilets where boys go to answer natures call, don’t let the metropolis you live deceive you.

Public hospitals where people die waiting to be attended to? Even after they are attended to after ages, recommended meds or even tests are still unaffordable. Don’t get me started on the mayhem GOP doctors cause, dishing out meds for things they have no idea about.

Those infrastructures you sited are financed through aggressive borrowing which are heavily serviced and in turn cause a strain on our FX reserves. When the naira dips, me the tax payer suffer the most while those who collect these taxes had looted half of borrowed funds.

Civil servants that you literally have to still bribe so they can attend to you? grin

Police that are known more for extortion than providing security??

Doctors that one barely have access to? Try go to a public hospital Diggz and see if you will see the doctor even after spending 8 hours there.

I pay separately to finance my own security in my estate, so??

Where is the clean water these tax collectors provide ?? Ridiculous!!

Enough said, I have contributed my fair share through indirect taxes and paying that income tax is part of the reason I quit salary job.
I’m fully aware that most public services, infrastructure and institutions are broken. I even referenced that in my previous post. There’s a reason I pointed out that not everyone who pays tax actually benefits from it, especially in a place like Naija.

However, if you went through the public system from primary school to university, like most people here probably did, and now that you’re earning, you’re refusing to contribute to that same system just because “every penny can’t be accounted for”,then honestly, e no make sense.

Just so you know, you’re denying the extremely poor a fair shot at education, healthcare, and other basic services whether directly or indirectly, no matter how bad the system may seem to you.

By the way, I’m only asking you to remember that poor people in society still need that general hospital you call rubbish, or the same public school that you may never have to send your own children, nieces or nephews to. Blueray already touched on the importance of the policemen we all love to hate, so I won’t bother going there again.

Not everything must benefit you and your family directly before you remember that others need it too. If everybody decide not to pay one kobo of tax like you, na only God sabi wetin go remain for this country.

Las las sha..make you do you, but no come here come complain about your leaders oooo….because them be a reflection of you and I.

Everyone pays taxes whether directly or indirectly. All I am saying is that I have paid more than enough through indirect taxation. Even elder earning in crypto pays his through indirect taxation. Simply by purchasing more than the poor, I have effectively paid more tax than they do.
I am no reflection of any thief in power as my life has been built on integrity and accountability which is why a lot of people trust me.

Try sending a shipment of goods from one state to another and you will have serious disgust for all our security outfits. These are same people I am expected to be happy to contribute toward their salary.

It’s not that we hate taxes — we hate watching our money disappear into the bloated pockets of thieving politicians. I don’t pay because in Nigeria, taxes don’t build roads or fund education; they bankroll private jets, champagne parties, and side chicks. So what’s the point?

Look at Akpabio running his mouth like a clown on a payroll — and we’re supposed to fund that circus? Hell no.

People don’t mind paying tax when it builds something. But here? It’s like donating to a cartel and expecting development in return. Utter madness.
