The poverty rate across the continent is freakingly high. One of the causes is too many children and wives. Committing to a woman is expensive let alone women. Many men, just like many human beings, are average. Yes, testosterone has to be satisfied, but keeping side chics has a lower cost line than marriage. The only men who should have many wives should be well-to-do men because even with the many wives, these men still have side chics.

In the short term at the individual level poverty is a concern.
30 years ago the GDP per capita in China was $600 today it is $13000 and China is very strong. Because of population
So there is nothing like too many people just a lack of knowledge how to deploy them. People are always an asset and knowledge can change their story in a short time
Poverty is a good thing because it can drive innovation and improve the lives of the next generation.

People rarely lived up to 50 years . If you reached the age of 40 with all your teeth intact you were lucky
Our ancestors made immense sacrifices so we can be here they did their duty to the genetic pool .

Our duty is to make as many babies as possible . It is for the group survival not individual comfort

That is a perspective an individualistic mindset cannot grasp ..The reality that no individual life really matters for itself

May the best party win. As some have said, too much information these days dey make people dey on guard. Nevertheless, men do marry. I see them on Facebook. Should the economy improve, our men will marry, and obviously, they will marry our women. I still maintain the stance that it is our women who will stay off marriage as their incomes improve.

I have experienced similar scenario, its the natural female proclivity.

Most women easily allow their earning power get into their head and become disrespectful overtly or covertly.

The best practice to go around this default female nature is to be steps ahead of the lady one wants a relationship with, the least age difference should be five years; be psychologically fit, financially astute and spiritually matured.

But the honest truth is not all men will be able to hit escape velocity and be financially established/grounded.
