Which exam dey last from January to July

Meanwhile e be like say dem dey accuse you of using ChatGPT. The way you switched from Waffi slang to Queens English in the last couple of months, there may be some legs to the allegations grin
Wait fess!

So, if I wake tomorrow and decide to start typing in proper English instead of pidgin and code mixing ( most especially substituting "U" and "UR" for "YOU" and "YOUR" respectively); people will assume it is ChatGPT assisted and me typing it? 🤷‍♂️

I used to think it is common knowledge that most people prefer to type in less formal way online simply because they feel comfortable doing so, not necessarily because they can't.

Yes na, I be illiterate wey never enter classroom before, so na wetin you expect? Na borrow I borrow queens English from ChatGPT, I no log off my brains put inside like some other people. Is there a crime committed here olokpa, Ibime?

Ibime:
Continue my guy

If you don't use a skill you will lose it

After over a decade and half of working mostly with numbers and headlines and writing short phrases on Nairaland mostly in Nigerian colloquialism, I struggle to write freely and words don't come to me as well as they did 15 years ago. Thank God for ChatGPT and AI, to write anything more than a few bullet points on a subject dey hard me these days. I used to be a very good writer over a decade ago.

During endsars when the Police stopped working for a few days, You can see what happened and regular guys became vigilantes defending their properties

If we reproduce that and police just stop working totally for 1month and lets see how it goes. How do you feel you will fare in a policeless society

You think police in the US do not misbehave? but I will prefer the misbehaving police to a No police situation
Bro endsars was literally a war against police.

You can see videos of policemen being k1illed...so they were all hiding for their deer lives.

Even with the numerous killings in several parts of the country, isnt it looking like vigilantes or local security outfits are the best to protect communities than relying on our police?

Baba, the point Raumdeuter was making and which I agree with him on is that as bad as Nigeria police are; their absence is not desirable at all.

In the days that followed the ENDSARS massacre, most policemen downed towns across Lagos state and most communities were on edge. Men formed themselves into vigilante groups keeping watch over their communities for fear of being overrun by criminals in the absence of police. There was serious fear and apprehension across various communities . If u lived in a middle class environment that time, u will understand that fear.

Nigerian police have their various failings o, but they are like the ones holding this our society from descending into total chaos. The typical Nigerian would not even behave well without being compelled to, now imagine the criminals amongst us being given free rein in the absence of police?

And yes, it is our taxes that is being used to fund the police and other security agencies. I know someone personally who had his car stolen at a car wash in Oshodi Lagos and Nigeria police helped him track and recover it around Idi Iroko Ogun state before the thief could cross boarder.

One of the greatest accelerants of total societal collapse is the inability of a government to collect tax and the consequent breakdown of public services.

If everybody should follow the principles of these our wise tax evaders here, what is happening right now in the country will seem like child's play.

As bad as the country is, and as bad as our leaders are, if you decide not to pay tax then you are contributing your own small quota to the destruction of the country.

I agree the Saudi investment will succeed where the Chinese failed. But I don't think realistically those Saudi teams can beat their European counterparts in real competitive games.

I've not had chance to follow this World club cup fully, but most of the highlights of the matches I've seen just gives the vibe of Pre-season matches which most teams don't take seriously, instead the coaches use it to experiment new tactics, test new players and fine tune their squad ahead of the new season.

I guess most people are angry with the current state of things , but they are failing to see how it could've been worse.

I watched a video recently on Youtube in which one lady was interviewed by Lucky Udu to share her "one chance" experience. The Lady narrated how she boarded a vehicle on a Monday morning to work on the Island ; unfortunately for her the vehicle turned out to be "one chance". She was driven all over Gbagada, Anthony, Ikeja etc in the early hours of the morning while the criminals were hitting her legs with hammer to force her give her banking app password and ATM pins at gun point.

At the end of the day, the lady was badly injured and lost her savings to the criminals. One thing she said that caught my attention was that she was pissed there was no police checkpoint on the roads while she was being driven around Lagos and being attacked by the criminals. She felt if there had been checkpoints mounted maybe around Gbagada or Ikeja axis, they would've busted the criminals who held her in their car against her will.

Now, I have been frequenting that route for a while now and I remember like 2 to 3 years ago there used to be some special police tactical unit that do mount roadblock around Charley Boy bus stop on that Gbagada axis. Most times people cuss them for causing unnecessary slow-moving traffic due to their "stop and Search". It was ironic hearing the lady wish those same policemen we used to cuss mounted the road blocks we love to hate.

You are a child! You too dey zuzu like market woman with porous mouth. Even with this platform being text based and giving you extra time to reason things through, you still no fit help yourself from your usual cho cho cho.

To make things worse, you can’t even own your 4keries when challenged. You would rather hide behind emojis/play or drag someone else into it….smh.

To be honest, I’ve thought of several juuuicy words to describe your personality. But with the way spambots dey move these days, there’s no way I go escape a ban. So you’re actually in luck.

By the way, nah who make you accuse me of being a yahoo boy that year? Just so you know, you’ve been moving mad around me for too long now. I just hope one of these days, you’ll be man enough to air whatever issue you have with me.

It really doesn’t matter where he made the comment as long as he didn’t quote me directly. But you’re too steeeewpid to know or understand that. So of course, you had to descend into some 4kery while hiding behind the British way of passive aggression.

Naaah…..you be pikin bro!

Baba the club world cup is a competition played school teachers, barbers, construction workers and part time footballers from new Zealand.

If Perez decides to gift his already rich players more money to motivate them just to boost his own ego, good for him and the team.

If any top European team catch those Saudi club for real competitive match, dem go flog wetin no good commit their body.

Most of the highlights I've seen were not impressive and didn't give the vibe of real competitive Matches.

You know the kind of vibe u will get in a standard UCL match, it was missing.

I get your point and even Raumdeuters point as well.

My point is not exactly in support of tax evasion, just criticizing the way it is being managed...and looted by the cr1m1nals parading as leaders. For the record, I pay my taxes and heavily too. But is these taxes used judiciously?

Most people here understands this but they will evade it...cos they support the cr1m1nals I'm talking about.

Abeg abeg, we don't need that kind of prayer now.

There are over 40 Checkpoints from Ijebuode to Benin, yet almost every week, kidnappings and robberies happen back to back.

The only problem with crimes in Nigeria is that they cannot be solved. That's my issue with our Police.

Nobody should mount any checkpoint along Gbagada abeg. We like am like that
