Absolutely, he has every right to aspire.

We overlook Tinubu”s consolidation in the SS. He has come to terms with his dwindling position in the north, but the calculation is to coverup with the SS. He will gain more votes in the SW - no doubt. Atiku will do better because the Buhari effect won’t evoke blind followers in the north like it did.

Tinubu strategically is well positioned, it will be a slim win.

Tinubu”s reserve cavalry is in the SS, and you can’t crack it because all the power players have pivoted. If I were Atiku, I would sit this one out. Except …. Elrufai, and Obi accept to join forces. Elrufai mended a lot of fences for Tinubu”s victory which is why he was pushed out. I doubt much harm will come from switching V.P’s except they had an agreement. Shettima will more than happy to retire for a juicy ambassadorial position or economic positioning or influence in future appointments.

The summary is Tinubu spends more time thinking about reelection than governance and it’s paying off with a clear path in the SS.
