2027: Why We Are Joining The Coalition - Concerned PDP Leaders by fergie001(mod): 7:44pm On Jul 01, 2025
A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has expressed deep disappointment in the party’s current direction and declared its intention to join a new coalition aimed at rescuing Nigeria from the grip of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Other prominent figures at the Tuesday meeting in Abuja included former Senate President David Mark; former PDP National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus; and former governors Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto), Liyel Imoke (Cross River), Babangida Aliyu (Niger), Sule Lamido (Jigawa), Gabriel Suswam (Benue), and Sam Egwu (Ebonyi). Also present were ex-Minister of Foreign Affairs Chief Tom Ikimi, Senator Abdul Ningi, Celestine Omehia, Senator Ben Obi, former PDP National Women Leader Josephine Anenih, ex-National Organising Secretary Senator Austin Akobundu, former National Publicity Secretary Kola Ologbondiyan, and former National Youth Leader Abdullahi Maibasira, amongst others.

While the group did not name the political platform on which the coalition would operate, news outlets report the African Democratic Congress (ADC) had been adopted and would be announced later Tuesday night.
COMMUNIQUE OF THE MEETING OF CONCERNED LEADERS OF THE PDP HELD AT TRANSCORP HILTON HOTEL ABUJA ON
TUESDAY 1ST JULY 2025

PREAMBLE

The meeting of Concerned Leaders of our great Party PDP was called to discuss the disturbing condition the Party has been sunk into.

Since our loss in the last presidential election and the exit of Dr. Iyorchia Ayu as National Chairman, our dear Party has never been the same again.

Vested interests from within and the irresponsible actions of the APC led federal government which has been using State Institutions to stifle and destroy the Democracy knows no bounds!

The inability of PDP leadership to lead the Party by its Constitution, rules and regulations led it into a chaotic and undisciplined Party!

The vision of the founding Fathers for which the Party was established and the role it played in restoring Nigeria as stable and united country and key player on the regional, continental, and global stage has been washed away just as our roles as the leader of the black race is now overtaken by smaller and less endowed countries.

Painfully, Nigeria is now a diminished country and an embarrassment on the world stage!

The meeting took time to deliberate deeply on the issues of democracy, national unity, national security, economy, corruption, governance, and other concerns plaguing our country.

Arising from the above, the meeting hereby resolved as follows:

1) The APC government, which came into being on the false and evil propaganda, to save Nigeria from PDP is now a disaster to our nation and therefore must be voted out of power

2) All indices of development that support the comfort and quality of lives of the citizens have collapsed, and life is now hell in Nigeria

3) The PDP, which is organic with the discipline, capacity, and history to lead and save Nigeria, is now a shadow of its old self. The heatwave unleashed by the APC Federal government through threats, blackmail and patronage has forced elected officers in government to abandon the PDP.

The meeting here now decides

a) The meeting encourages all well-meaning PDP Members and other patriotic Nigerians to join the coalition.

b) All coalition partners must be united on the issues of NATIONAL UNITY, DEMOCRACY, NATIONAL SECURITY, NATIONAL ECONOMY, and the political will to stamp out corruption embedded in our institutions.

c) the coalition partners to work out the modalities of winning all elections taking into consideration local and national peculiarities.
The Communique was read by a former President of the Senate, David Bonaventure Mark.

Re: 2027: Why We Are Joining The Coalition - Concerned PDP Leaders by ksam(m): 8:11pm On Jul 01, 2025
Still the same worms moving to another carcass. At the end whoever becomes president will still be controlled and not allowed to work for the people but to please those who put him there.

If only we can get someone whose only backup are the people. Who wouldn’t give a damn about this worms but be ready to flush them out and put them where they belong. We are in for a long ride in this country

May God help us and save Nigeria

You need to read the history of American politics. Even at home here Buhari is a lesson. He cried on national TV and at the end,... Merger / coalition bailed him out. If he's destined to, nothing will stop him .
Not with this nonperforming administration which is to their advantage
Re: 2027: Why We Are Joining The Coalition - Concerned PDP Leaders by Ofunaofu: 8:14pm On Jul 01, 2025
The PDP has collapsed.

What remains with Wike is merely a carcass, which he uses however he pleases. He may even shove it down his drunken throat, for all we care. He can zone the presidential ticket of that carcass to himself and run against his D-Lord. Nigerians are indifferent.

We are moving forward to rescue this country from the grip of the notorious D-Lord, whose leadership has brought nothing but pain, anguish, hunger, and starvation since he took office.

This coalition will end up helping the ruling party. Others will still spring up and divide the opposition even further. At the end of the day, it’s all just the last kick of a dying horse — futile and desperate.
Re: 2027: Why We Are Joining The Coalition - Concerned PDP Leaders by seunmsg(m): 8:20pm On Jul 01, 2025
Basically, only PDP members who are no longer relevant politically are joining Atiku in his dead coalition. Not even a single incumbent governor is going to ADC with him.

As it stands, El-Rufai, Amaechi and Peter Obi may not even join the coalition. El-Rufai and Amaechi will float ADA while Peter will go solo again.

Do you remember how many govs the coalition brought in for Buhari at the time ...the pdp govs are not having anything to do with atiku come 2027 and have openly distanced themselves, how do you intend to achieve anything without govs not even 1.
