Hi, please I'm in a crossroad, I don't know whether to pick Lagos or Abuja for my visa appointment cause of this dates issues and i plan to resume before August 26. Good evening, please I'm in a situation where the date has been selected for next year 2026.
On the dashboard it's not stating that I have "1 appointment"yet, in order to view details.
I can see the appointment scheduled already on the appointment page,and if I select emergency it says "Select Applicant" and hereby not allowing me move further to request.
What can I do in this situation.

Note: I once had a date for Abuja and submitted DS-160 form which doesn't suit my school resumption date, reason why I changed to Lagos and I prefer using the emergency in Lagos as it's closer to me compared to Abuja.

Can I use my bachelor's degree program transcript from 100L to the first semester of 400L or even 300L to apply for a Master's program in the US while awaiting the results of my second semester, or final year which I am still attending classes for here in Nigeria? Thank you.

As the son of a poor man I can categorically tell you that this administration is dealing with me. I need to Japa to a better place.

My Kenyan girlfriend (distance) will be going to Italy for her undergraduate soon and she's been pestering me to apply to the US (because she knows my plan) since it's the only way we can earn the freedom and resources to meet in person.

Finally, if I don't rush, US may leave me deserted in Nigeria This pit of hell only habitable by APC, Tinubu, and his cocoons(pun intended)

I applied for a J1 visa and my program starts on August 18 2025. I scheduled an appointment for myself and family for March 2026 but I'm hoping I'll find an earlier date. I also intend to apply for an expedited visa if I'm not able to find an earlier date but I'm not sure if the emergency application can also apply to my dependents. Pls advice.

you have to stop trying to access the page for a certain number of hours, it may be 24hrs to 72 hrs. I waited for 72hrs because I didn't want to take the chance of the clock restarting if i didn't wait long enough. I was able to login after that.

It happens when your login is too frequent in a day.
It happened to me and I just stopped trying to login. I think it took like 12hrs for me to regain access

Although I didn't run for a higher position then, I was later elected PRO2 of the faculty. I'm currently running for President of my department and am confident about winning.

In addition to these leadership roles, I've received two certificates of excellence: one for selfless service and the other for effective leadership.

Given that my desired course(Non-STEM) is often fully funded(mostly by default) in US universities, I have two questions:

1. Will my profile be competitive enough for admission without official English proficiency test scores (TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo, etc.), considering my academic achievements and leadership experience?
2. I've already identified a few US universities that waive English proficiency test requirements, but I'd like to explore more options. Can anyone recommend additional universities that might consider applicants without these test scores?

I appreciate any guidance or recommendations that can help me with my applications.

1. Yes, your profile is per average to compete as you have combined academic feat or prowess with extracurricular activities, which also places you in the position of future leader or manager ■ either in politics or in the businessworld.

2. Keep exploring the more. Google or direct school websites are in the best positions to give you the current and updated admission information. Keep sending admission query to as many schools as you can.


NB: U.S. schools should have removed Nigeria out of standardized test requirements because I see it as an insult to educated Nigerians. Having studied from Primary school up to University level in pure British English is more than sufficient to understand any American lecturers in the class / lecture room . They may only peg it for competitive scholarships. Anyways, 35% of U.S. institutions have already waived or waiving it. 👍

No, it wont show. The only way you'll know if it has been approved is when you receive an email stating either approval or denial. Then after you'll be asked to reschedule your appointment.

I haven't heard of anyone being successful with emergency requests.
