In May 2018, a coalition movement initiated by former President Olusegun Obasanjo adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as its political platform to challenge then-President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 elections.https://www.thecable.ng/rewind-in-2018-obasanjo-led-coalition-adopted-adc-but-collapsed-before-election/?fbclid=IwY2xjawLS-0lleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBicmlkETE3ZkUwam1EUjZkSFduTVpzAR7YRyY1OjaLSXvO0-gI9UJuXEVqkLPT8dndOE90cbQryysn6nbjHfT97qUxyw_aem_CEMgi4sK3Xml1epa5W4JjA

All BAT needed to do immediately after his swearing in was make things easy for the masses but instead he brought extreme hunger, pain and more avoidable deaths to same people who voted him now his former thieving friends have ganged up to chase him away and i don't see the hungry masses casting their votes for him in large numbers like they did in the last elections. |

A thief with nothing to show as achievement I don't even know how Nigerians think This is a man that ruled for more than 10 years... What is that single thing Obasanjo can point as as achievement? Same with all these corrupt and evil rogues that formed the useless party. 90% of them have been in power for years with no achievement. They've all contributed to the very bad situation the country is at the moment. Given a chance again, THEY'LL DEFINITELY MAKE IT WORSE. |

Ok We have heard you. Howmany force were in ADC then? Do we have 2 major or heavy weight candidates in ADC then? A party with Atiku and Peter Obi who has tasted their popularity is what you're comparing with previous ADC 😂 Was Obasanjo the presidential candidate of ADC then? 😂 |

ADC will not stand a chance in 2027. This is not because they don't have strong politicians but everyone is there for their personal ambition. It takes one candidate to emerge and you will see others flee. Anyone who attended yesterday's unveiling who has not yet resigned from his/her party is only looking for a SPV to float their political ambition. If they can't get it in ADC they will move on. When APC was formed Tinubu and Buhari had met to consolidate their support and ideas. Tinubu was ready to forgo his political ambition to allow Buhari run. The merger was mainly between ACN and CPC. PDP disgruntled boys heard about the coalition and the formation of the new party and they all rushed to join. They called themselves n-PDP. At the convention. The ACN wing led by Tinubu did not contest for the presidential primary. n-PDP led by Atiku contested and even spent dollars in Lagos. Buhari was the joint candidate of the ACN and CPC. Despite Atiku's spending Buhari floored him in the primary...even though Buhari spent nothing. The thing still dey do Atiku and his PDP boys like magic till today. If you ask them what happened they will say "Only Jagaban can answer that question". They didn't know what hit them. As soon as Atiku and his hallelujah boys lost they returned to the PDP. After Buhari the ACN wing of the APC got their own turn as originally agreed. n-PDP boys are back to finding another coalition like prodigal children The ADC is Atiku's idea....Atiku led and he will contest.....What I am not sure about is Obi and LP supporters. If there was no agreement that Obi will be the candidate and someone is telling them they should submit to free and fair election...then they are baby politicians....cos the candidate is always first decided before the coalition talk starts. And from all that LP people have said so far, the presidential candidate of the coalition is not coming from the LP wing. All these campaign after unveiling shows how shallow LP guys are in Nigerian politics. |

One of the responsibilities of good parents is to prevent their kids and family relations from supporting APC... 😎 You have failed your kids and your bloodline if you are alive and see them support APC... this ipso facto means that all those supporting APC on this forum are kids from failed parents 🤔 The type of rigging the North will do in favour of ADC ehn, APC never see am before... ADC Presidential Candidate will be Peter Obi who will do a single term and hand over to Atiku...Atiku will now do 8yrs to complete the North's tenure. This is an arrangement Atiku believes in because it will serve him the Presidency a la carte... Obi/El Rufai |

Now the coalition has more interested parties and much more formidable people. It has now gained prominence, and has come to stay. APC faces a very formidable group. |

In May 2018, former President Obasanjo’s Coalition for Nigerian Movement (CNM) formally merged into the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to create a fresh political platform. Though Obasanjo didn’t join the party formally, he offered guidance and sought to galvanise grassroots change and challenge the ruling APC in the 2019 elections . The initiative was a top‑down infusion of his movement into an existing party to leverage its structure. By contrast, in 2025, ADC is being adopted by opposition heavyweights—Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Nasir El‑Rufai and others—as the coalition vehicle for 2027. This is a broader, multi‑centre alliance, with ADC formally amending its constitution to accommodate coalition partners and maintain internal unity . Whereas Obasanjo’s adoption was a singular movement aligning with ADC, the current strategy is a coalitional embrace of ADC as a neutral platform, reflecting shared values and mutual accommodation rather than the top‑down direction of 2018. |

Lolz ,leave them , because obj failed doesn't mean these set of people will fail. The opposition has very little campaign to do sef ,Tinubu and APC have done all the campaign work for them. Nigerians are eagerly waiting for the elections and voting to commence . |

Then, it was Obasanjo's coalition but now, it's Nigeria’s coalition against what is widely regarded as the most wicked and draconian regime in the country’s history. As a popular African proverb says: “One man can cook for the crowd, but when the crowd cooks for one man, he cannot finish the food.” Nigerians will cook for Tinubu and when they do come 2027, he’ll flee Aso Rock and return to wherever he emerged from. |
