What happened earlier today with the movement of the so-called ‘coalition’ into the ADC is the greatest factor that has strengthened the APC ahead of the 2027 elections. Let me explain.

By law, you cannot operate from, or belong to, two or multiple political parties, so it is safe to say that their open declaration for ADC today is a clear abandonment of their previous parties. In fact, belonging to two political parties is a ground for disqualification in an election.

Therefore, the emergence of ADC as presently constituted marks the formal dismemberment of the PDP, hitherto Nigeria’s strongest opposition Party. Majority of the old guard in the PDP (who have apparently lost control of the Party) have been pushed out of the party by the Younger Turks within the PDP. That is why the gathering today was a conglomerate of ‘former this’ and ‘former that’ of the PDP. No matter how you look at it, this is just Atiku’s faction of PDP in desperate search for the 2027 Presidential ticket - nothing more, nothing less.

The other addition to the so-called ‘coalition’ is a sprinkling of APC members who actually worked against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the last election and one or two APC leaders who lost their constituencies to opposition parties in 2023. Their movement therefore takes NOTHING away from the APC. It is actually better for the APC because it is just a case of totally extracting the germ that was eating the cola nut from within.

The person who the old, cunning guards want to take for a ride in all of this is Peter Obi. They want his votes, but don’t want to give him their Presidential ticket, because this is Atiku’s show simpliciter. That is why David Mark is the interim Chairman. Those who know politics know what I am saying. But if you do not give Peter Obi the Presidential ticket, you lose his supporters. It is as simple as that. And how can you make someone who won two regions in the last election (South-East and South-South) a running mate to the person who won only one region (North-East)?

Therefore, when the dust settles, you will discover that PDP and the Labour Party have lost something, the ADC have only gained something like a caricature, but the APC has lost ABSOLUTELY nothing.

What this all means is that since the 2023 elections, the APC have become stronger, whilst the opposition parties have been fragmented and have become weaker. Those who have defected to the APC since 2023 (the Governors, Senators, Honourable members, etc) put side-by-side with a small handful who have left the APC, who would you rather have in your ranks? That is where lies the key to the whole analyses.

For now, let us face governance and allow them exercise their constitutional right to associate and assemble.

This voodoo arithmetic clearly suffers from a dangerous mix of selective amnesia and delusions of grandeur. To claim that a groundbreaking movement aimed at rescuing Nigeria from its worst governance nightmare somehow “strengthens the APC” is not only laughable—it is the kind of self-soothing propaganda borne out of fear, not logic.

Let’s be clear: the formation of a coalition of credible leaders and political forces under a rejuvenated platform like the ADC is not a dismemberment of the PDP or any party—it is a national realignment of purpose. What frightens the APC is that, for the first time since 2015, there is a coherent and formidable front that unites the popular forces they once divided. This coalition does not seek your validation; it is a product of national urgency.

The talk of disqualification for associating with two parties is a desperate grasp at straws. The law is clear: until nominations are submitted to INEC for the general election, aspirants are free to associate and realign. The APC, which perfected the art of poaching, is suddenly preaching electoral piety? Spare us the hypocrisy.

And the condescending attempt to reduce the coalition to “Atiku’s faction” is as dishonest as it is ignorant. This is not about Atiku, Obi, or anyone else—it is about saving a bleeding nation from the economic hardship, insecurity, and rudderless governance inflicted by the APC. Nigerians are not fools. The ongoing coalition is a patriotic front, not a vanity project.

As for the clownish claim that the APC has “lost nothing”—here’s the reality: you have lost legitimacy. You have lost goodwill. You have lost the people. And come 2027, you will lose power. Nigerians will not forget that under your watch, the naira collapsed, hunger became a national epidemic, and corruption found refuge in the corridors of power.

In truth, it is not the opposition that is fragmented. It is the APC that is imploding under the weight of unkept promises, internal betrayals, and a President who inspires nothing but disappointment.

So yes, let us all face governance—but tell your party to actually govern, not just occupy power. The coalition will continue to grow, and no amount of scare tactics or pseudo-legal gibberish will stop the will of a determined people.

This is not the end of the PDP and why should it bother you though? This is the beginning of the end of the APC. Let that sink in.

Your entire thread reeks of fear disguised as analysis. If the coalition's move into @ADCNig was as meaningless as you claim, you wouldn’t be twisting yourself into knots trying to downplay it. Clearly, something about this development has rattled the APC.

You speak of “dismemberment” of the @OfficialPDPNig and the “caricature” status of ADC, yet you fail to acknowledge the simple truth: Nigerians are hungry for credible alternatives. The old political order is collapsing under the weight of its own failures, and no amount of spin will save it.

Dragging @PeterObi into this with condescending analysis won’t work. He is not desperate, he is deliberate. Millions support him not because of political deals, but because of his integrity, vision, and performance. You may not like that, but it’s a reality that even APC strategists privately acknowledge.

As for your “APC is stronger” claim the evidence says otherwise. Governance under @officialABAT and @OfficialAPCNg Phase 2 administration has been disastrous, inflation is through the roof, insecurity persists, and Nigerians are suffering. If this is what strength looks like, then we are in serious trouble.

The other option is for Atiku to emerge and Obi to throw his support behind him, the issue with that scenario is that obidients aren't really fond of Atiku, they're more likely to lose interest in voting when compared to Atiku's fanbase if told to support obi.

Also Keyamo's post is ridiculous, of course APC will lose some important people, no need to come online to say those people were not important to APC, just acknowledge their defection and move on.

Firstly, the so-called 'young Turks' are essentially just Wike.
I told a friend that for the ADC to zone the Chairmanship and Secretary positions to the Middle Belt and the West which they label as South it's likely they'll zone the presidential ticket to the North.

Lastly; Keyamo acknowledges that Peter Obi holds sway over block votes.
