Answer the questions and stop being clever by half.

Tell us what exactly Jonathan should've done different when Southerners don't want him and Northerners think he didn't do enough for peace to reign in the North.

You just sit down here talking as if we all didn't live through that period. I was resident in the Northwest between 2014 and 2015. When the result of the 2015 elections were declared , it was a sigh of relief for southerners resident in the north and it was celebration galore for the core northerners. Take it from me that this country would've been set ablaze if Jonathan had tried to use the power in the way u are suggesting .

You seem to be a poor student of history, if not u would've remembered what happened in Ivory Coast when Lauren Gbagbo refused to step down after losing an election thereby leading the country into a civil war. Mind u , Jonathan knows he's from a minority tribe and knows how badly it will end if his personal ambition leads the country into a civil war.

You can bemoan all day about how Jonathan was weak about the 2015 elections, but the truth is he didn't have much options left open to him.
Just postpone the elections and replace the inec chairman. Only hold the election when you know everything is good to go. Gej is a disgrace.
Fayose advised him back then but he refused to listen.

It's either you are poor student of history or you have a short memory about the happenings in the run-off to the 2015 general elections.

The election was slated for February 14 2015 but it was postponed to March 28 2015 on the excuse that the security forces needed to pound Boko Haram for another 6 weeks before the election can take place.

Even though the opposition kicked, Jonathan proceeded with the 6 weeks postponement. Did gbag in any way improve his lot?

If u remmeber how bad the opposition and majority of Nigerians wanted Jonathan out, u would've understood that even if he postponed the election for one full year he would still have lost.

In case you don't know, the same Jega u are clamoring for Jonathan to have removed was actually seen by the opposition to be acting in Jonathan's favor. It was after Jonathan had lost the election PDP started accusing Jega of bias.

Below is APC accusing PDP of bias prior to the 2015 presidential elections

Please don't insult us by trying to rewrite history we lived through.

There was little or nothing Jonathan would've done that would've saved him from the political tsunami that happened prior to the election

Lol, even before the election people already smelled a rat and were advising Gej to remove jega. One of such people was fayose.
There was a lot Gej could've done if he wasn't weak. With the way you keep defending Gej, hope you aren't like him oh. grin

You have not been able to point out one thing that would've saved Jonathan till now. I just showed u evidence that it was actually APC that thought Jega was going to do Jonathan's bidding prior to the election.

Na people wey still dey secondary school in 2012,2013,2014 and 2015 u fit dey use this revisionism tactics for.

You can claim that there was a great conspiracy against Jonathan and that the failings of his government was over-amplified by the opposition APC; I will certainly agree with u on that. But u saying there was something legal Jonathan should've done to avert the eventual loss of 2015 election; I will say u are just clowning.

You mean being weak is allowing the will of the people to prevail? Not wanting bloodshed on account of subversion?

Majority wanted Buhari, turned out to be a very stupid decision in hindsight.

Jonathan having being a deputy governor, governor, vice president and President for 6yrs made the best personal decision, which in turn saved Nigeria from bloodletting that would have ensued. People were fleeing the country then; and nany people I know thanked God Jonathan made that call.

I think alot of people viewing how terrible they have suffered in that last 10yrs will take GEJ being brutal towards buhari as a price to pay to avoid APC experience.

If you listen to Jonathan talk about that 2015 election, be like say too many things happened behind the scenes that he was letting go. Even things that were downright evil I suspect. I won't call him weak, I'd say he has a low threshold for "violence" and was very empathetic compared to the rest.
OBJ in Jonathan's position with all that information would have not cared

You have no reasonable talking point jare.

Let Jonathan postpone the election for one whole year he would've lost the election.

And mind you, APC and PDP equally induced voters with money during the election to get votes in their favor. At least in my polling unit in the north I saw agents of the two parties openly giving out cash to voters willing to vote for their party.

So this is not even about Jonathan being a "good" man.

Maybe if u were to be a southerner resident in the north during the 2015 elections, u would've understood how tensed up the country was and how grateful most were that Jonathan didn't pull a Lauren Gbagbo back then.

I still don't get how smart people looked at buhari sha and picked him over Jonathan with all that history.
And then still picked him again for 2nd term after how bad the first year went

Nigeria has always been bad. There was no time we actually sat down over drinks and thanked God about how Nigeria was good. It's not true

People actually wanted change from PDP. People were tired. So yes, PDP losing as at 2015 was obviously going to happen.

The main question is how these same people saw where Buhari was heading, and overwhelming voted for him in 2019. And that was when we lost it. Infact, Buhari did more damage in the last 4 years, than in the previous one.

If you say Nigeria has always been bad and people complained and then still voted for OBJ twice, voted Jonathan 1.5x then it applies to why they voted buhari twice.

Coz left for me, the decision for 2015 was easy. People were very much alive during buhari's tenure, the data from Jonathan's tenure was there to interrogate. Nobody can claim they didn't have access to information because the internet was very much open 2015.

People simply allowed themselves to be deceived. I'm not saying GEJ was perfect but again the data and available information supported him.
But hey, that's just me.

No sir, you are wrong there.

So just like today, those who wanted a different regime grew astronomically

2007 - YarAdua got 24 million votes, while Buhari got 6 million

18 million difference

2011 - GEJ got 22 million, while Buhari got 10 million

12 million difference.

People were tired, and it took Tinubu and the others to come together, and gather themselves, so they can have all the oppositions on one side. That's how they flung GEJ out.

The results always showed that people were tired of PDP. Check the rise in the opposition figures.

They're not the same, but in a real democracy you can't separate them in the practical sense of it. Politics is a game, agreed. But it is also a game that directly determines who gets to make decisions that affect an entire country. Politics and the way it's handled easily translates to how governance is also handled.

Jokers like you get too inebriated with the vanity of your so-called political strategies and chess moves that you can't see that real people are suffering real consequences in the real world. And now you've just proven it in this response to izzou.
