While the idea of state police sounds practical in theory—especially with the promise of local knowledge and quicker response times—it carries severe risks in Nigeria’s current political and institutional climate. The major concern is abuse of power by state governors. In a system where checks and balances are already weak, giving state governments control over armed forces could easily lead to political repression, targeted intimidation, and erosion of civil liberties.

Nigeria's political landscape is deeply divided along ethnic, religious, and party lines. Introducing state police in this context risks turning law enforcement into tools of ethnic or political enforcement, especially during elections or civil unrest. Vigilantes and local forces, while familiar with their communities, can also become extensions of political thugs, further escalating local conflicts instead of resolving them.

Moreover, the lack of standardized training, funding, and accountability mechanisms across states means some regions will have professional, disciplined forces, while others may descend into chaos or become militarized arms of state leaders.

Until Nigeria establishes robust institutional safeguards—like independent police oversight bodies, judicial reforms, and strong federal-state power balance—the move to state police could worsen insecurity by decentralizing corruption and repression rather than addressing the root issues.

Good. But the points you listed against state police are currently happening with the federal police structure being controlled from Abuja. Moreso, aside the governors using it for political benefits especially elections, there's nothing more they can use it for in the negative. Don't forget election is periodical too, so it means that at worst, insecurity could only happen in electioneering period? Remember also, that not all the governors will use it for politics in their state. But leaving it in the hand of the federal makes it worse off because terrorists and all forms of criminals could come into a state and wreck havoc, yet get federal protection like it's currently happening and during elections, the president uses it against his opponents both at the federal and state level.

I do alcohol very much before but lately my foot feel like everything heavy sedimented there... Lost my step, I'm limping and again I find it hard to eat and wake up to a sick shaking human in the morning

Pls for the sake of God and your family especially your mum, can you start withdrawing from all substances

I know it may be difficult but you have to considering the fact that, if anything happens to you, you will be forgotten as you are nit having any child that will continue your lineage

Go close to God in prayers and surrender your life to him
