But reporter knowing how dvmb and uneducated Nigerian youths are quickly wrote "ordered", and just as expected they have jumped on it....
I was in the country for 3 months between December 2024 and Feb 2025 looking for an EA had over 50 interviews, some came with masters degrees, I couldn't get one qualified candidate. Its just shameful the kind of youths we have today

The rascality by Akpabio should not be tolerated. Not knowing your rights as a citizen, opens the door to oppression and trampling on your rights.

Now Natasha’s benefits, including remunerations and staff remunerations must be paid in full.

A total wasted venture by Akpabio. Also a lesson taught to Senators. Hopefully she finds her way to ADC and retains her seat.

The Senate is a distinct arm of government and are therefore entitled to make rules that guide the conduct of parliamentarians without judicial interference.

Can the NASS determine how the National Judicial Council (NJC) should conduct its affairs?


It's one's belief that Justice Binta Nyako overreached herself in her judgement.

However, no matter how dissatisfied the Senate feels, court orders must be obeyed.


After all, they have the right to appeal this judgement.


Without decorum, order and decency, the hallowed chambers would become a WWE annex.

The senate has the right to Appeal the judgement.
The Judiciary should understand that the legistive arm of government has their own rule and regulation that the Judiciary shouldn't interfere.
Insubordination will not be tolerated in the legistive chamber .
This will serve as a lesson to Akpoti who with all these has not been remorseful.
Six months it shall be.

“ ABUJA– The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the Senate to reinstate the suspended lawmaker representing Kogi Central, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

The court, in a judgement that was delivered by Justice Binta Nyako, described as “excessive”, the six-month suspension that was slammed on the lawmaker by the Senate.

It faulted the provision of Chapter 8 of the Senate Standing Rules as well as section 14 of the Legislative Houses, Powers & Privileges Act, declaring both as overreaching.

The court stressed that the two legislations failed to specify the maximum period that a serving lawmaker could be suspended from office.

According to the court, since lawmakers have a total of 181 days to sit in every legislative circle, the six-month suspension handed to Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan was akin to pushing her away from her responsibilities to her constituents for about 180 days.

It held that though the Senate has the power to punish any of its members who err, such sanction must not be excessive to deprive the constituents of their right to be represented.

Nevertheless, the court held that the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, was not wrong to have denied the plaintiff who was not on the official seat that was allotted to her, the opportunity to speak during plenary.

Justice Nyako equally dismissed Akpabio’s contention that the court lacked the jurisdiction to entertain the suit which he said bordered on an internal affair of the Senate.

Please sir, where did you manufacture the word “advise” from? The body of the report carried “advise” and reporters from several news agencies carried the word “ordered”? Between you and the reporters, who was right inside the court? Who got first hand information between you and them?

By the way, did you not read in previously decided cases that the suspension contravened senate rules? Did you read other decided cases?

Sure, but please it was a court order and not an opinion. You did not read the dailies. This is not the first that legislators have won such cases. This is also not the first of such by irresponsible Senate Presidents. An appeal is a complete waste of time, ad it was long ago settled. This gra gra based politics must be put to an end. Legislators make laws and break the laws with ease on their own. In Lagos, there are BRT lanes, just for rapid bus. You find military men and other security men, along with the so called big men, who should be enforcing the rules, breaking the rules daily. You complain, they beat you up. The National Assembly is about rights. If rights are not upheld in such places, where is the hope of other citizens?
