Imagine being able to see exactly how much gas is left in your cylinder — no more guesswork, no more cheating during refills! Someone suggested making gas cylinders like this transparent, for accountability and convenience.

But let’s be honest… just looking at it alone, e be like say e wan blow! 😂😂

It’s giving “glass bomb” vibes. Would you feel safer or more terrified using this kind of cylinder?

“Make una talk true, you fit use this kind cylinder for house? 😂

....and usually finishes at night lol.

Safety must be guaranteed to use this type of transparent cynlinder
joseph1832:
They are cool. I've seen something similar, but it's not as transparent as these... Atleast one will know when gas is about to finish, not like the others that take users by surprise. Lol

You are playing with fire. Nobody will ever approve this kind of container for such highly volatile and flammable gas
Re: What Do You Think About These Transparent Gas Cylinders? by Originalsly: 2:28pm On Jul 04, 2025
Hmmm ....so cooking gas is like liquid ... you can see it he level like water in a glass....as you use you can see the level going down ..lower and power.... no need for pressure gauge. I'm now thinking of finding someone to finance me on making transparent tyres ... or for starters ....tyres with a transparent window so driers can see the level of air. I learned something today.

I don't need it, once I notice you ain't trustworthy I won't patronize you again.

I hate it when I run outta gas unexpectedly, I have solved that issue by getting a small spare cylinder.

Exousiang01:
What you need is a pressure guage not a transparent cylinder.
Basic science should tell you that this is not safe but Nigerians have certificates and degrees but no education.
Below is a picture of what a pressure guage looks like, its less than 9k on Jumia.

The things you see Nigerians talk about makes you wonder if we are bachwards because of bad politicians or we are backward because we have a huge percentage of our citizens who are just dvmb.
There are transparent cylinders already, made from fiberglass and resin and they are safer than metal cylinders since they can't rust over time.

Get off your high horse.

I like it, if not for anything, at the point of refilling, you will easily see what they are putting inside, I no trust those sellers, sometimes na air dem dey fill inside

Just have a bathroom scale at home which you can double as gas weight checker. The old stell cylinder is 14.5kg when empty. Anything on top na gas. Be checking weekly.

The Metallurgical and Materials Engineers shd enlightened us which material the transparent part of the cylinder is made of. How durable and save is such a material
Re: What Do You Think About These Transparent Gas Cylinders? by Love800(m): 3:12pm On Jul 04, 2025
Cant the steel be transparent?
Am curious. That is why i asked.
CrickCrackPow:
School No Be Scam Woh!

A glass cylinder can be used to hold pressure, but it is generally not recommended due to the inherent fragility of glass. Glass is susceptible to cracking and shattering under pressure, especially sudden changes in pressure or high pressures. Therefore, other materials like steel or specialized composites are typically used for applications requiring pressure containment.

It's Scientific!
Re: What Do You Think About These Transparent Gas Cylinders? by Love800(m): 3:16pm On Jul 04, 2025
Okay. One can buy a weight scale and attach it to the gas cylinder he/she has being using since?
CodeTemplarr:
Instead, buy a weight scale and check its weight before and after refilling the cylinder. They sell gas by weight.

You are technically right...but .those small lighter na pure butane with lower vapor pressure it's easily liquified into small transparent containers....
I believe I am totally right cos once it's liquefied, viola! It will be visible to the eye. It's not about the chemical, even water vapor in the air can't be seen, but once condensed, it becomes visible as water.
Re: What Do You Think About These Transparent Gas Cylinders? by Allwell96: 3:16pm On Jul 04, 2025
Before they roll it out to the markets, safety checks must have been carried out. I believe it's not made in Nigeria.

We already have fibre glass cylinders that allow you to see the level of gas in your cylinder directly...
I have had mine since 2013

I mean the picture.
It is semi-transparent....you can see the gas in its liquid form through the fiberglass sections.
You need to see it in real life to get a full understanding of it....The picture does not doo it full justice

With this cylinder, you will always know what level your gas is ...and when its about to finish
Re: What Do You Think About These Transparent Gas Cylinders? by Manculated: 3:46pm On Jul 04, 2025
I will surely pass.

I still prefer the steel cylinder.

Gas gauge will do the job for me.

Meanwhile, Fibre glass cylinder remains the best.

Is it not just economical (and reasonable ) to have a guage on the nozzle of the cylinder that shows you the level?

And maybe the scientists in the house can enlighten me. Is the gas not supposed to be colourless?

Innovation 💡

The gas cylinder my dad bought in 1987 is still in very good condition and rust free.

The one I bought in 2009 became an eyesore and got so rusty that I had to dispose it to iron condemn aboki, even though it wasn't leaking.
