We’re not there yet though the progress has been tremendous. AI will replace a lot of jobs but create a lot more as well.

The book "Sapiens" by Yuval Noah Harari comes to mind. Just exactly as he predicted and described.

I need to go reread it and his other titles; Homo Deus, 21 lessons for the 21st century and Nexus.

You are illogically mixing different things

One is a decision making process that potentially could function autonomously whilst the other is essentially a tool that enhances the work of a specialized practitioner
Robots do not initiate direct or terminate surgery without supervision and strictly speaking are not AI applications they are mechanical enhanced by AI or otherwise


So awareness of the latter those not somehow put you in a category of those who have not been "LEFT BEHIND"
ROBOTS HAVE BEEN USED IN SURGERY FOR 40 years. It is not new but it should not be conflated with autonomous decision making

That is your ego speaking and you need to reflect on why YOU NEED to talk like that

Definitely there is a great future for AI in healthcare especially in the hands of a skilled practitioner
No doubt there will be redundancies in some medical practitioner functions especially in modern centres but in the short to medium term this is unlikely to be ubiquitous because of cost

I agree. I discussed this issue with a medical doctor (a Consultant) and he swore it was not possible. I quickly download an app from Google Play Store called "Ada Health App" and we simulated a consultancy session with him acting as the patient. He was shocked at the accuracy of the final results and diagnosis. AI is taking over!

As long as he is getting it right, I believe that's what Google is made for.
I know a guy who watches YouTube video and perform surgeries on animal.
The clinic he works with praises him for performing surgeries that other vet doctors couldn't get right.

Many blood tests are routine . Not necessarily serving a diagnostic purpose but to record markers about the health status in general e.g nutritional status

Doctors should listen to patients

Many conditions develop slowly and the story may change over time as the disease progresses
doctors should understand that this may lead to inconsistent history
It is wrong to assume that medicine has evolved to a point where is has all or even most of the answers

There is so much that is still unknown

There is no blood test for a stroke , Parkinson's disease for ADHD,Epilepsy Schizophrenia Multiple Sclerosis to name a few. Not even for asthma

Many of these conditions for which there is no blood test tend to affect the brain or nervous system and interestingly sometimes respond t miracle cures or prayers allegedly

This is important to highlight the point that disease and or suffering can be in the mind and can be healed from the mind. The fact that it is in the mind does not mean it is not real or that patients should not be listened to

Human beings are not like Cars that respond to purely physical interventions

Blood tests are useful but limited so many things don't show on blood tests and or a blood test does not even exist

Stress is real and psychological distress can cause real physical problems like rashes, paralysis, Erectile dysfunction headaches , hypertension arthritis and so on

These are things that psychiatrists understand and manage

Well I did not say doctors should not listen to their patients. Offcourse they should listen to them. What I am saying is that doctors should get additional information via blood tests, scans, etc to confirm what their patients say before arriving at a diagnosis. They shouldn't rely solely on what the patients say. That is the key point.

A good doctor should know when to request for additional tests, scans, etc to rule out other conditions and to aid in arriving at an accurate diagnosis.
