For those of you shocked to see foreigners amongst the students,

Nigeria experienced so much boom from oil back then,

They built world class standards universities,don't be shocked most of those buildings are still used till this date without any form of proper maintenance,and they are still standing strong.

Even though most were over bloated budgets,

Dollar was practically raining in Nigeria back then

Foreign countries did not have such level of funds to invest in institutions,they had to come to Nigeria to tap and learn,
Infact they were always amazed at how rich Nigeria was.

Na then IMF begin the ojoro

Obukpa is the major contributor of land to what is today known as UNN, so he is right there, part of the stadium and boys hostels area through engineering faculty to Vet. Medicine down to Odim are all land of Obukpa, even Nru shares boundary with the school.

Unfortunately, it seems the school stopped developing infrastructurally, somewhere along the line. Old, dilapidated buildings, hostels that look worst than Nigeria prisons, dirt littered everywhere, very analogue and archaic system.

I sincerely hope things improve with time, so the great Lion’s Zone can reclaim its place among the nation’s Ivy League universities like UI, ABU, Uniben and OAU….

….kudos to the lecturers though - dedicated and given solely to scholarship and learning. Quite friendly and easy going…. Infrastructure and welfare needs to improve, at least, to encourage them

The school has no powerful architectural design structure .obi was admitted there when no school in Europe and America could Admit him .Tinubu would never downgraded himself to go to local school

Not only were there foreign students in the school, foreigners too were lecturing in the school. My dad and mum were lecturers then in the school and that was were i was born and brought up. Were i had my university education.

Nostalgic memories. Medical Center was our sure plug for fetching water and for charging our phones and laptops.
Political Science and Social Science Quadrangle na where men refined lives.
I miss those days. 10years already.

UNN changed oh even as a super lion, I find it easy to know these places because 5 years I spent in university isn't 5 days. First picture is back of Okpara hostel before Belewa hostel was built at the back of it. Second one is that field freedom square and that building you see with a slope ceiling is Mary slessor which was later rebuilt and added more structure. The third one is old pharmacy block close to carva building and the last 4th picture is Magret Ekpo refectory. I miss days at the den.

Obviously, you have issues with comprehension and it is not my job to teach you the basics. As for knowing UNN or not, I am very sure, that you have not being to any of the aforementioned universities except UNN - so you have no idea how a decent school should look like…..

Post UNN hostels here let’s see. From Odili (PG Hall) to Nkrumah to Alvan Ikoku to Njoku hostel…. Post them let’s see. You can also post thee lecture/classroom halls….

Go out so your eyes go open and you go see how university suppose look like

Lol. I was born and brought up in the school environment. Can't expose myself here. Do your research. Those streets inside the school, like Cartwright etc, which Nigerian bears those names? Start from researching the names of the HOD's of different departments in the school from inception,so as to clear your doubt.

Be humble enough to accept what you dont know, and learn.
