1. You may be on a different country VAC website. SA service charge is 29,400.

2. It doesn't matter if the reservation is cancelled after 24 hours, just ensure that your arrival and departure date corresponds with your hotel check-in and check-out dates. Use Ethiopian Airlines.

3. Your choice of hotel largely depends on your budget. I always use Hampton by Hilton Sandton Grayston, this is an expensive option - the location is also a factor, so I'll suggest you consider cheaper ones in a different neighbourhood.

Also I need guidance to avoid a denial as the 15 days tenure of getting the visa is extremely close to my July 25th need so I might not be able to reapply.

1. Book directly from Ethiopian Airlines website https://www.ethiopianairlines.com/ng, prices are quoted in Naira. Moreover, you are not making any payment, so don't worry about the price. You can look for cheaper flights when you have your visa.

Also my purpose of visit is to see my friend and tourism. My friend is an SA resident and has given me invitation letter, his utility bill and proof of ID and accommodation. Please is there anything you think I need to add that might better support my application. As a denial might affect my reapplication since I’ll be pressed for time.

You can submit tomorrow, note the following however:-

i. Your online statement won't work. Go to the bank and have them print, stamp and sign all the pages of your account statement. In addition to the reference letter.

ii. Your friend's ID should be certified by the police in South Africa.

If you have the correct documents, and your application is straightforward, it may be granted. Note that your personal and economic circumstances are also factors that'll determine the issuance of a visa.

2. Family photos may not be acceptable. Your marriage certificate and especially birth certificates of your child(ren). Please download the checklist on VFS website.

3. Do not use Hampton. You will not be refunded if your visa is refused. I book and pay because I have 90% guarantee of my visa being issued. Search for hotels in the exact area you want to stay. Sandton is an expensive area.

Please how do I check the validity/ authenticity of my Yellowcard. I got it in 2022 . It seems the Yellowcard website to check the bar code is no longer working and I don’t want the yellowcard to in anyway affect my application. Please is there a way to resolve this? Thank you

I don't think there's another way to check. But if your yellow card was gotten in 2022 - the one with the barcode, you are good.

2022 Yellow card is not best. Get a new one that is recently issued. Goodluck

I have been having issues paying for my application at the DHA e visa portal . I will try this link you suggested today, Thank you. Please I printed my statement since 16th June will you advise I still submit this statement or I reprint before submitting at this new link suggested ?

Both visas are the same, except that the VFS platform has more staff attending to applications than DHA, which makes it faster. VFS is more expensive and has a shorter processing time, while DHA is less expensive and processing time can be up to two months in some cases.

Note that evisa processing on DHA can take up to 6 weeks.

Hello house, I read and followed this thread quietly for a tourist SA visa for a family of 5.

VFS Appointment and submission: 13th June, 2025
June 20th, got email that applications had been processed and in transit back to VFS for passport delivery.
June 24th, received back passports with sticker visas.

1. 750k is a fair pay. When you say "I will be paying myself", I take it you won't be applying for your visa till around October/November. Because you must present a three months statement.
