Obi narrates that Abacha was so fed up with the inefficiency that he appointed him to lead a task on port decongestion hence, Obi’s reference to being “chairman.”

WHAT HE MEANT BY CHAIRMAN

Obi was not officially appointed as:

Chairman of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA)

Chairman of Tin Can Island Port Authority (which does not have its own separate governing board)


Rather, he chaired a temporary taskforce/committee specifically focused on resolving port congestion issues at Tin Can. That’s what he meant by “Chairman” not a formal, gazetted, long-term government appointment.

This is why official NPA records do not list him among the agency's leadership or chairmen.

His team which are mostly importers whose goods are being delayed at the ports for months, decided to do something about the delays by reporting their issue to whosoever is in charge of the ports then. And the person in charge asked them to use two weeks to workout ways they feel the government can de-congest the ports.

They made their findings within the given time and reported to the person in charge of the ports.

With how greedy Abacha was, I highly doubt he would not have had strong control over that board and been in touch with them.

Obi, then a private businessman based in the UK, submitted a petition to General Abacha regarding port congestion. As a result, he was appointed by Abacha to lead a short-lived committee tasked with decongesting Tin Can Island Port .

In his interview now, he said I never met with Abacha. You are the one adding one-on-one setting to his statement. He simply said I never met Abacha before.

The minister banged his table. I know it can be hard to understand English sometimes. Abacha had no business with them. They went to see him but they saw the minister. Abacha protocol officers didn’t think they needed to see Abacha.

Let me explain this simply. Drive down to Lagos Government house and tell them you want to see Sanwo Olu. They will ask you why, when you tell them it’s about problem at the ports, they will tell you to go and meet with the commissioner in charge.

Peter Obi tells so many lies that he sometimes forgets them. He is a proven pathological liar.
I insist that Peter Obi was in charge of the group called PROFFESSIONAL IMPORT DUTY ADMINISTRATORS which operated under the acronym PIDA.
This PIDA was a body created by General Sani Abacha to duplicate the functions of the Nigeria Customs Service and they were then paid a large percentage of duty generated.
In other words this PIDA group headed by Peter Obi was a bureaucracy organisation of Abacha boys legally appointed by the go ernment to act as a watch dog to revenue generated by the Customs and then fraudulently take a percentage of the revenue generated . This is revenue that should have gone to the Nigeria government purse but was being scammed into private pockets .
Peter Obi was in charge of this fraudulently activity at Tin can Island sea port!
