Here is a quote of what he said in the video you people keep referring to. So tell me where he mentioned that they met with Abacha directly. Now even if Abacha was present at that meeting, does this count as meeting with Abacha just because you were in a room with him? Does it count as being an Abacha boy? Because to be his boy, you must have a working relationship with him the way someone like Reno has a working relationship with Tinubu or Atiku.

THIS WAS ACTUALLY THE MEANING OF WHAT HE SAID

Obi narrates that Abacha was so fed up with the inefficiency that he appointed him to lead a task on port decongestion hence, Obi’s reference to being “chairman.”

WHAT HE MEANT BY CHAIRMAN

Obi was not officially appointed as:

Chairman of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA)

Chairman of Tin Can Island Port Authority (which does not have its own separate governing board)


Rather, he chaired a temporary taskforce/committee specifically focused on resolving port congestion issues at Tin Can. That’s what he meant by “Chairman” not a formal, gazetted, long-term government appointment.

This is why official NPA records do not list him among the agency's leadership or chairmen.

So first question from your transcript:

What is the meaning of: “only 30 agreed to see him”? Who did the 30 agree to see?

Explanation:

If you want to see the President, you have to identify yourself and go through security clearance. After that, depending on your level of security clearance, you may be directed to a SA or SSA or whoever will attend to your enquiry. It is there they will determine whether they will put you in the appointment list, or whether you should go to someone else, like the minister in charge of the issue you want to resolve.

According to PO, they were 100 who went to see Abacha. When they got there, the people threatened to arrest them. Only 30 agreed to proceed further. The rest were probably afraid to go any further.

PO was cutting a long story short. They went to see Abacha, they ended up seeing the minister who set him up to resolve the issue and he did, everyone clapped for Abacha because the President receives glory. Then a well known group of people started “he was Abacha boy”
