Visa processing delay. What is going on at Ireland embassy?
Please, do you know anyone here, who submitted an Appeal this year to the Embassy of Ireland, Abuja and got a feedback?

If yes; how long did it take?

Did you get a mail on the appeal decision?

Mine is Employment Visa

Date appeals received in Abuja: 12 March 2025

When did you submit your appeal?

I have seen it bro. The thing now is when will they start processing Appeals for Employment Visa.

Seems like they haven't attended to appeals for all categories. My job start date is May 6th.

Their processing rate is not encouraging at all

This is the response I got last week, after I emailed them because my employer asked for an update.

You can get one right in the VFS office or any of the Cyber outside the office. You will see the prices depending on the duration you want

Don’t buy travel insurance policy @VFS office. It’s expensive to get it through them.

You can get insurance policy for less cheaper when you buy it online through any of the insurance companies.

Buying travel insurance policy in Nigeria.
All you need to do is visit any of their websites to buy travel insurance. You don’t need an agent or anyone else to buy travel insurance.

travel insurance is cheap in Nigeria. The price you pay depends on the company you get it from. You can visit multiple insurance company websites and then compare prices.

I always go for the cheapest because it doesn't matter which company you buy it from.

You can get travel insurance that will cover a 7-day trip for as little as 3,200 naira, a 10-day trip for about 4500 naira, or less than 9000 naira for one month of travel insurance.

Buy it online from any of the insurance companies. You don’t need anyone or agent before you can buy travel insurance.

Hello all, how crazy is the waiting time for dublin visa ? family of 4 ( one adult and 3 children ) we wanted to visit turkey, but looking at the cost of travel for September flights and the visa fees we might as well visit dublin cost is almost the same.
We obtained schengen visa from France last year sept for a month and we visited France, italy and spain 10days in total.

We are thinking of trying dublin for the first time to travel during the school holiday in september for a week any luck if we make the application now ?
with the extensive waiting times, if the waiting period overlaps before a decision is made would that affect the outcome of the visa ? Thanks.

The waiting period is something else. September is barely two months from today.

Don't, coupled with the school holiday just like you said.

You need enough time. Give at least 3 months for the application processing.

Another small concern, my kids passports expires next year June on the 10th, they currently have 11months left and we plan to apply next week to travel in December for christmas leaving them with less than 6months(5months and a week ) validity after intended date of travel and return which is less than 6months is that going to be a problem ?

For an Irish visa application, your passport needs to be valid for at least six months after your intended departure date from Ireland.

Why don’t you get a new passport for her since you still have time on your side?
Re: *** General Irish VISIT/TOURIST VISA Enquiries *** by Atinukemi23: 4:04pm On Jul 21, 2025
Are you allowed to renew passports beyond 6months validity ? I don’t think so, passports are still currently valid for 11months and by december then we have 6months left, we may put the travelling dates forward maybe November or first week in december.
If not because of the crazy waiting time, our intention is to travel by September for a week but with the crazy waiting times that is not going to be possible.
