With how greedy Abacha was, I highly doubt he would not have had strong control over that board and been in touch with them.

His team which are mostly importers whose goods are being delayed at the ports for months, decided to do something about the delays by reporting their issue to whosoever is in charge of the ports then. And the person in charge asked them to use two weeks to workout ways they feel the government can de-congest the ports.

They made their findings within the given time and reported to the person in charge of the ports.

HOW DOES THAT TRANSLATE TO WORKING FOR ABACHA'S GOVERNMENT??

THIS WAS ACTUALLY THE MEANING OF WHAT HE SAID

Obi narrates that Abacha was so fed up with the inefficiency that he appointed him to lead a task on port decongestion hence, Obi’s reference to being “chairman.”

WHAT HE MEANT BY CHAIRMAN

Obi was not officially appointed as:

Chairman of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA)

Chairman of Tin Can Island Port Authority (which does not have its own separate governing board)


Rather, he chaired a temporary taskforce/committee specifically focused on resolving port congestion issues at Tin Can. That’s what he meant by “Chairman” not a formal, gazetted, long-term government appointment.

This is why official NPA records do not list him among the agency's leadership or chairmen.


Make use of this information and spot the hypocrisy of the propagandists.

If so, we are evaluating a possible replacement for Tinubu in 2027 hence we are evaluating Obi via this argument. Is he a man who says something today and either lies or forgets tomorrow and then says something else? If so, how do you trust that such a man would not buckle under pressure and deny his promises?

Even he admitted his children records what he says so he doesn’t deny he said those things later in the future. Take a few:

I would remove the fuel subsidy immediately. I cannot allow it to stay a day longer (2022) - He denied saying this recently in 2025.

Actually, they made their complain to Walli Ahmed the then Head of NPA. It was Walli that asked them to make suggestions on how best to de-congest the ports. They submitted their suggestion to Walli Ahmed and not to Abacha. In fact, the complain and report never reached Aso Rock bc it will be like backstabbing Walli Ahmed.

Ahmed handled the whole thing himself and Abacha was never aware of the complaint nor the report.



The thing is when these APC media lying team are churning out their false lies against Obi, we in the know always smile and let them be, knowing fully well that Obi will answer their lies at the most unexpected time. And when he does answer them, it makes them look like the unintelligent *f00ls they really are.
