It is one thing to say that you are reporting that someone claimed a donkey spoke. It is another thing to record it as fact in your account that the donkey spoke.

Jesus taught his disciples and told them to stick to that doctrine so if anyone feels like drifting away from what binds Jesus' disciples as one family of faith such a person should be SHUNNED!

You can't find this appealing after all the Bible itself doesn't make perfect sense to you as a person so why bother yourself on what Jesus taught?

Jesus taught us that if there is any case that warrants settling among us we should encourage the two persons involved to resolve it between them but if it's not resolved we must take two other members to the one insisting on his own idea if he still disagree then the body of elders should intervene but if he still disagree with the body of elders in the congregation then we should SHUN such a person! Matthew 18:15-17

Jews used to SHUN people of other nations and tax collectors Jesus said that is the same way we should treat whoever disagree with what the entire congregation concludes as best decision!
