Lol... There is no excuse for relocating abroad without doing your due diligence.

Countries like Canada, parts of U.S, Europe, etc, are not and can never be like Nigeria in terms of culture and social life.

If your priority is family and socialising, then do your mental health a favor by sitting your b*tt back in this 3rd world nation.

You can't and shouldn't go abroad, then start demanding for the very things you enjoyed and even took for granted in Nigeria... That's childish and silly.

He should have put his skills to good use there
You surely can't compare Nigeria with the US
He should restrategize and he'll still make it there
He shouldn't dare come back except there's something concrete waiting for him
Naija has been batardised by Tinubu's fumbling govt

You guys should grow up. Many are doing well in this same Nigeria better than they would abroad. Not everything is about the cost of Kpomo and Garri.

Even if you cannot see it there are things being delivered, beneficial to Nigerians, that have never been seen before.

Nigeria is in unavoidable transition like a cancer patient who underwent painful treatment and recovery to then have a good and healthy life after defeating the deadly illness. Nigeria too will be well and thriving better than before soon.
are you one of the nigerians that are doing better than they would abroad?

what are the things that are being delivered that are beneficial to nigerians that has never been seen before?

who is doing the delivery?

who made nigeria sick that it is going thru treatment?

Why will you travel to the US or Canada withiut your family? Hmmm.. depression and loneliness will finish you. My advice to our people in Nigeria is either you migrate as a single guy or you migrate witb your family. With your children and wife together, you ll enjoy government benefit, school assistance and many more because the west value children than adult.

There is clear, logically valid and macro-economically sound case for the reforms The PBAT government has initiated and how unavoidable they are for a sincere Government that is committed to doing what is in the best interest of Nigerians who will begin to benefit greatly from the reforms in 2 to 10 years from now.
I agree that the reforms are necessary. They don't even go far enough, but they're good enough to slow down the downward trajectory for now.

You must also remember that Bola Tinubu opposed the very same reforms when President Jonathan implemented them in 2012. Mr Tinubu exploited his control of Lagos to force a retention of fuel subsidies. Anyone who praises Tinubu without mentioning that history is a hypocrite at best.

The current reforms are shallow and will bring only temporary relief. The Land Use Act, Petroleum Industry Act and Solid Minerals Act all need to be repealed and robust property rights introduced to Nigeria. All taxes should be scrapped and replaced by a VAT with a Constitutionally set maximum of 9% and maybe a 1% extra tax on the top 1% income earners.

The bitcoin and etherium should be made legal tender. There should be legal restrictions on the ability of the CBN to create money. There should be laws to DISCOURAGE anyone from becoming a government employee and ALL citizens must be allowed to own arms and furthermore the government should be mandated to arm each citizen with a fully automatic rifle at a minimum.

The Federal Government should be prohibited by law from setting prices for ANYTHING, including forex and labor. No government should own ANY commercial entity and ONLY State governments should be allowed to own schools, universities and hospitals, airports and seaports and bridges.

Good Luck to Nigerians

I don't pity most Nigerians when they regret and complain after relocating abroad because no matter how people who have travelled and are seeing Shege explain to them, they will never listen, infact they will tell them why can't they return to Nigeria. When they travel out they will realize that there is more to life than just having good roads, constant electricity,so called security. What about loneliness?,Racism, lack of social life, lack of availability of your African foods,Cold weather, constant and high taxes, and some of our other African way of life?...All that glitters is not gold..
Thank God i didnt listen to rubbish people like you spew on this page & made the smart move to japa!

🔴 HMMMMMMMMM 🔴

I just realized that the combined wealth of American Rapper JayZ ($2.5B), American Movie mogul Tyler Perry ($1.4B) and Barbados Songstress Rihanna ($1.4B) is equals to ($5.3B) and it’s not up to the wealth of Nigerian Business tycoon Mike Adenuga ($6.8B).

Sometimes it’s never about who’s more popular and it’s certainly not a matter of location. Chief Adenuga made all his wealth living in Africa, he didn’t need to relocate abroad.

#lesangokublog

I wanted to relocate bfor bt i dive into biz here n i am happy
Lol... This is pointless.

For how long will you people keep using the wealth of few, extremely connected, Nigerians to brag and give yourselves hope?!!

Do you know how many Billionaires America has?!! And many more springing up?!!

How often do you see or hear Americans bragging about the wealth of single individuals?!! A lot of Americans no even send Bill Gates and Elon Musk, even within their families sef.

Countries are making serious moves to spread wealth and comfort among at least 70 to 80 percent of their citizens, especially those that are educated... But, modern day Nigerian youths will rather go hungry in a continously corrupt nation as long as they can brag about the wealth of less than 1% of their population!

SMH... Something is seriously wrong with the intelligence of most Nigerians.

All that steady electricity and good roads attractions will wear off within a couple of years anyway, so stop telling people to go back to Nigeria if they don't like it.

The dynamics of abroad and home is different, the big problem is the ability to adapt and change when experiencing new culture.

Find a remote there in the USA that can pay you in dollars, while you work from anywhere in the world.

You already have bank account and address you can use for the job..

Relocate back to Nigeria and enjoy your dollars in peace.
how can we get these remote jobs? any clues.I am really keen
Re: I Regret Leaving Nigeria For The US - Singer Dotman Opens Up On Abroad Struggles by tunapawizzy: 5:44pm On Jul 07, 2025
it has nothing to do with US, people with better career in Nigeria than him(in the same showbiz) are doing great in the US
-no dey follow crowd.
When all these people complain about abroad especially US, just ask them whether na visiting visa dem use go yankee, dem no come come back.
Anybody wey go with F1 or J1 or spouse visa, or those that won visa lottery years back, their own kind of complaint no be regret, it is always can u imagine i am starting all over again, but they can see that land flowing with milk and honey within their reach, they can measure their progress every month.

The bolded show your level of IQ already,so I don't have to say much..

If you could comfortably say Nigeria is recovering with this damage Apc and Tinubu is doing,by borrowing, and increased taxing and nothing to show, then you are definitely not okay upstairs.. You claim persons are doing well, and you failed to highlight many who were doing well before Apc,and can't even feed well now as we speak. You forgot that not everyone can be pushing drugs, involving themselves in shady deals, politics to steal and all of that . How many legit hustlers are currently comfortable in this administration?
You're talking rubbish, so you think everyone who is doing well in Nigeria must be into pushing hard drugs or in politics.

What the guy said is true, Nigeria is undergoing hard and painful economic reforms that should pay-off in the near future

Truth is if you're not guided by God, your relocating to the US will be worse than your presence here regardless of the supposed glitz and glamor. Those who went there and succeed were either guided by God or they understand the system of survival in that country. Some were even born there and had spent some growing up years before relocating to Nigeria.
For Dotman, I pray he finds peace and support. I were him, I'll come back to Nigeria and really prepare or wait for God's direction.

May Day: Hunger, unemployment, insecurity real— Tinubu

According to him: “The theme demands our collective attention and serves as a stark reminder of the need to create an environment where every worker feels safe, valued, and empowered to contribute to the growth and prosperity of our nation. As your President, I assure you that this administration is committed to creating such an environment for the common good.”

On the economic hardship, he noted that while it is a global phenomenon, its effects on Nigerians are particularly severe.

Tinubu said: “I am aware of the peculiarities of the economic hardship Nigerians face—rising living costs, hunger, insecurity, unemployment, and the loss of livelihoods. These challenges are real and demand definitive solutions, which I am poised to address as your President.

Just go to the US and have the mindset of, I can start from scratch again, have a working plan and focus on that plan...light at the end of the tunnel too sure.
if u cant afford masters in Uni, downgrade to College, keep rolling yourself in the system. Dont focus on your friends that are seemingly ahead. With a student visa and the right course, you can keep yourself in the country legally for 12 years

masters in a STEM course 2 years - after that you can get 3 years post grad work permit then after that get admitted for PhD
phd 4 years in a STEM course - after that you get another 3 years post grad work permit

it is even better for younger people as they can also do 3 years postgrad work visa after their 4 years bachelors before starting masters.

The problem is that most people want to come to the US today and start earning 150k USD tomorrow, so to them school is so long, they therefore cannot go to school. Meanwhile na for school u fit easily meet the love of your life wey go help u-if you know what i mean.

I will always advice people to jump on the school route, at least remain legally in the country WHILE u shop around for other things, US citizen partner, employer that will file etc Because if you have a legal status and have no immediate risk of immigration sending u packing, you are even more desirable for someone looking for a partner. You cant be in the US for 7 to 10 years, continually improving yourself in terms of skills and education and not meet your big break.
