According to the grieving widow, her husband, a Nigerian man based in the UK, had informed her that he would be away for two weeks in Northern Ireland to attend a professional lecture. However, just days later, she received a distressing phone call that would change her life forever.

“My husband told me he was travelling to Northern Ireland for a lecture which would last two weeks. Then I got a call saying he was in a Lagos hospital fighting for his life,” she wrote.

She later discovered that he had been in Nigeria the entire time, and not for work—but to visit a girlfriend.

Her husband’s younger brother later broke the news of his death, confirming that he had never gone to Northern Ireland — but was in Lagos all along.
