This Young Lady Also Experienced The Pressure Of Sexual Compromise

Chinaza was raised in a Christian home, taught the ways of God from childhood. She sang in the church choir, attended youth fellowship, and was known for her joyful spirit. But as she entered the university, the pressure to “belong” started to grow heavier.

Her roommate, Ifeoma, was the complete opposite—bold, flashy, and full of stories about dating and “enjoying life.” “Naza, you too dey form saint. Everybody is doing it. It’s not a big deal anymore,” she would tease.

One night after fellowship, Chinaza sat on her bed and stared at her Bible. She had been in a secret relationship with a young man, Eze, for four months now. He had started pressing her to “prove her love.”

Her heart was torn. She liked Eze. He was handsome, intelligent, and sweet. But each time they got close, a small voice would whisper inside her, *“This is not My will. Abstain from fornication.”*

She finally opened her Bible and landed on *1 Thessalonians 4:3*. Her eyes filled with tears. That night, she prayed, *“Lord, give me the strength to obey You. I choose purity, even if it costs me something.”*

The next day, Chinaza met Eze at a quiet café.

“I can’t continue this relationship,” she said firmly.

Eze looked confused. “Why? I thought you loved me.”

“I do. But I love God more. And if you truly love me, you’ll respect my decision to wait until marriage.”

Eze sighed. “You’re different. But maybe that’s a good thing.”

They parted ways that day, and although Chinaza felt heartbroken, her heart was at peace.

Years later, Chinaza stood at the altar in a white gown, her heart full of gratitude. She had kept herself, by God’s grace. Her husband, Chuka, also shared the same testimony. Their marriage began on a solid foundation of purity and honor.

*Reflection:*
Fornication may be normalized in today’s world, but God’s Word has not changed. What the world calls "freedom," God calls sin. Choosing purity is choosing God’s best. His instructions are never to punish us, but to protect us.

1 Thessalonians 4:3 - For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication.*

**Purityland Confession:**
I am strengthened by God to abstain from fornication. I choose purity over popularity, holiness over compromise, and obedience over temporary pleasure

Purity strengthens our relationship with God. I lost control at a point. I'm no more a virgin. But I admit that sex outside marriage is a sin. Those who have not deviated in this regard should not lose focus.

1. Define this purity, abeg? We don dey here of this concept for tay, but no one in the religious circles seems to have a detailed enough explanation of what it is. undecided

2. Sex outside of marriage is a sin, yet the lives of those who waited until after marriage to have sex— both men and women alike —are no better than the lives of those who didn't. No amount of religious smoke up our arses can erase this fact which is clearly evident to all. So, what exactly is the point of insisting on this form of purity? huh

. This is pulled out of the pages of tales of endless religious hogwash, a compendium of some of the most ludicrous delusions that mankind can boast of to date. undecided
