Please, if one made a mistake in the AVITS profile (resumption date was back dated) before printing out the payment slip.

Can I cancel and request another payment slip or should I just go ahead and pay (it doesn't matter)?

Cancel pending appointment and start all over by clicking on " NEW . This will enable you to start from the beginning just as if you are just creating the AVITS profile. Be certain that all info you are inputing is accurate. Do not rush. 👍

The university I'm planning to apply to states on its website that January 15 is the deadline for submission of documents. Given that my final transcript is likely to be ready shortly after that date, will they still consider me for admission since decisions will start going out by April 15?

Nobody including myself can speak for your host- University In the United States. Why don't you ask your assigned admission counselor or officer ? Also if you are processing the admission yourself you should be able to see update as well as your assigned staffs from your portal.

I also want to implore you to be patient. You have a good academic standing. You will make admission and visa errors if you are following this pace. 👍

Please guys, I reached out to the person assigned to me about the i-20, he said summer has already started.. that I should defer to fall or spring.
Fall is starting August 18th, while spring is starting January 12th. If I defer now, is it possible to get a visa appointment before August 18th?
Or I should wait for spring?

I'm going for a BSc.. I'm 23, I'll be 24 by October.

I did a degree before in a Nigerian university, but I didn't finish.

I hope it won't be a problem?

Thanks Xoxobull. They must be joking on the F1 applicants. Many countries will criticize them on that. Student must be given a multiple entry. I believe the U.S will adjust on F1. 👍

It's Nigeria that caused it. This is called reciprocate.
American is given you 5years and you are given them 3 months who does that?
I believe those who did this are already citizens and they don't care the impact it will create for others.
So I don't really blame America for what they did na Nigerians look for trouble. What's their reason for that actions.

Yes.

Our government thought that Americans are too wealthy or okay and won't fancy the notion of staying too long in Nigeria despite the insecurity and warnings 😀

This should be an eye opener to our government and to Nigerians that Americans cherish and fancy our natural resources and our market economy and they love Nigerians.

Please our government should revisit their visa policy and grant them what they desire. A whole #1 superpower fighting for our visa extension 😎

How can that even work on F1 visas. It means after three months, we renew and pay more money.

I'm in the same situation. I did dropbox last month for F1 renewal and I got AP as well, which has not been updated.

Quick question to the group, I've been on AP since mid June and my wife's interview is next week. Does it make sense for her to proceed?

I saw a date in Abuja october '25, when i was switching locations every second to find dates, but it went quickly in like two seconds. Unfortunately checking that often will get your acct limited, as it happened to me. not sure what the best approach is to get dates but there are dates

I’m working here Nigeria as a customer service in one organization like that. Have never worked in my field of study or have work experience in my field of study.

However, I’m using my uncle as my sponsor.

Type DS-160 on Google or click the website below in order to start your application:

https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/

* You should follow the indication (attached) by selecting Lagos or Abuja - Nigeria and fill in the security prompt and then click on Start Application.

* DS-160 is a cumbersome form to fill. It will time you out if you stay too long on a page , therefore you should gather all the information you want to fill before you start the application. I also want to suggest that you have the required passport photo because it will keep rejecting your photo if it does not meet the standard required. But don't fret. You can do it with determination.

■ Fill your genuine information inside the DS-160 and mention your uncle as your sponsor based on what your form I-20 indicates. All other explanation is not too relevant. Just be honest inside the DS-160 and to the consular during your interview. 👍
