When Nollywood meets political naivety, the result is national comedy.

Kenneth Okonkwo’s latest appearance on Channels TV is the kind of political performance best left on a movie set. His claim—that only a northern heavyweight like Atiku can defeat President Tinubu in 2027—isn’t analysis; it’s lazy fiction, penned by an armchair Nollywood analyst mistaking regional myths for political science.

To start, there is no such thing as a single northern voting bloc. That fantasy belongs in a poorly written script, not on a national stage. The so-called “12 million Buharist vote bank” was not transferrable, and certainly not to Atiku. Buhari earned that number through decades of grassroots hustle, not borrowed glory.

Even with that mythical northern clout, Buhari lost in 2003 and 2011 to Presidents Obasanjo and Jonathan, both from the South. If a man who actually had the North couldn’t unseat a southern incumbent, how then does Kenneth believe Atiku—perpetually rejected by even his hometown—can do what Buhari could not?

Kenneth, once Peter Obi’s spokesman, now dances clumsily in Atiku’s corner like a man who changes loyalty the way a confused actor changes costumes—hoping one will finally land him the lead role. His political compass swings wildly, not with principle, but with the desperation of relevance.

He speaks of strategy, yet thinks in stereotypes. He analyses elections the way a child reads fables—believing that geography trumps character, and that recycled candidates inspire revolutions.

Nigeria deserves better than this tired, tribalist tale.

Oga, go and sit down. So who can win Tinubu in North? Obi will only get 5% of the northern votes if he contests against tinubu

**This take is spot on abeg. Kenneth Okonkwo should go back to acting, because this new role he's playing in politics no fit am at all.**

How can anyone still be pushing the tired idea that the North is one united voting machine? That lie died with Buhari’s last campaign. Even he couldn’t transfer his “12 million votes” to anybody, not even his own party members. So what magic does Atiku have? Abi dem wan revive dead political legends?

Atiku has been on every presidential ballot since GSM phones came out, yet even his own state keeps rejecting him. So Kenneth dey try tell us say na this same Atiku go suddenly become North’s messiah in 2027? LOL.

Truth be told, the real issue is not region, it's character. Nigerians are tired of recycled politicians who offer the same failed blueprint. What we need is a fresh vision, not these old warhorses playing tribal cards.

Kenneth jumping ship from Obi to Atiku just proves one thing no be ideology dey move am, na relevance. From Obi’s “new Nigeria” to Atiku’s “turn by turn,” this man just dey chase spotlight.

Abeg, make we no let clout chasers rewrite our political reality with lazy narratives. Nigeria needs thinkers, not performers.

It is clear that the election results were inflated before BVN

In 2015 Buhari got 15 million votes
Jonathan got 12 million
Total 27 million

In 2011

Jonathan got 22 million
Jonathan 12 million
Ribadu 2 million
Total 36 million
In 2023

Tinubu 8.7 million
Atiku 6.9 million
Obi 6.1 million

Total 22 million

There will be a census this year and some people will be shocked
You will hear wailing and yanshing of teeth

It's Atiku that have been losing since 1994 will win? It's common sense that a southerner has higher chance of winning in 2027 than a northerner.
