AmgAmg:Just wanted to put this out there since I was the one who started everything here in the first place … so it’s only right that I share my final decision on this platform as well. So after much thought and weighing my options, have finally decided I’m going with the compounding approach to investing, Many might ask why I picked this path, but the main driver, the absolute main reason… is because its low-risk profile. spoke with an investment manager just last weekend , and he was incredibly confident and persuasive about the benefits of compounding. I’m actually talking about treasury bills / mutual funds / stocks /shares and the likes … might surprise you, but he showed me some projections & numbers that suggest this approach could potentially grow into over a billion in about 10 years time. Was honestly shocked when he broke down the numbers and showed me the math behind it. best best part? It’s completely risk-free, or at least significantly less risky than starting a business from scratch. So I won’t have to deal with the stress and uncertainty that usually comes with launching a company. That being said , I still look forward to collaborating with a few of the people I’ve connected with on here… but the bulk of the capital, around ₦110 million out of ₦150 million, will be going into the compounding side. and The remaining ₦40 million could be used for my other project. Thanks to everyone and may God bless you’ll |

Let me mention that while mutual funds/TBs are near 100% safe, the compounding rate only beats the inflation rate a little. For instance when inflation rate was 11%, TB rate was like 13,15%. Now TB rate is around 24%., u can check what current inflation rate is now.. stocks/shares can actually yield negative returns atimes. To me a better and still safe option would have been properties (a developing area is better). This maintains(even increase) the purchasing power of that amt and gives rental income too AmgAmg: |

being:First things first, before I talk the main thing wey dey my mind, make I first break down why I choose the compounding route. Stay with me. For clarity and reference, here’s the plan I’m working with: ₦110 million in total. 60m into treasury bills ……. I’m allocating ₦60 million into Treasury Bills. One major advantage with TBs is that the interest is paid upfront, which allows me to immediately reinvest the interest as it comes in … effectively compounding the returns manually each cycle. Now, while the base treasury rate is around 19–20%, this reinvestment approach pushes the effective annual yield up to around 22–24%, especially when you rotate into short-term bills or other secured instruments. Compounded over 10 years, ₦60 million grows to around ₦450 million to ₦515 million… and this is: • Fully traceable • Backed by the Federal Government • Practically stress/risk-free When I say risk-free, I mean that there’s no guesswork involved. I literally sleep and wake up, knowing my capital is 101% safe & secured. And Then remaining ₦50 million would be going into commercial papers, mutual funds, and possibly equities … instruments that generally yield 24–26% annually. Mutual funds, especially the flexible ones that allow monthly or quarterly withdrawals, give me room to reinvest earnings as they come, further compounding growth. With monthly reinvestment, even a base rate of 22–24% can push actual annual returns to 25% or more. Over 10 years, this ₦50 million could potentially grow to around ₦600 million to ₦700 million, depending on how well the reinvestments are managed and the consistency of rates. That is Total value after 10 years: ₦1.05 billion to ₦1.2 billion All without starting a business or having to deal with humans … Now make we go back to the point wey I wan really talk: Make I ask you straight up… Which property for this Nigeria you don personally see wey give 10x return within 10 years? I no dey talk about that kind “just buy one land for bush and forget am” kind story. I dey talk about real, traceable example … where person buy property or land for ₦100 million and sell am for ₦1 billion inside 10 years, predictably, not by luck? . |

Yes.. (if inflation rate & consequently cp & tb rates remain 20%+) u hav 1bn in 10 years but then the purchasing value will be about same... cos of inflation.. What i was trying to pass across is tb rates only just keep purchasing value plus some 2 or 3%. Properties keep d purchasing value + some 5% rental income(on current p.v.)+ appreciation rate(which may be high) Because of high inflation in d last 5 years, a lot of properties have appreciated 300%(monetary value)in these 5,7 yrs. Overall point is u should factor inflation, time value of money in ur decision https://www.facebook.com/okezie.eunice/videos/-how-mrs-ibukun-awosika-generated-614-million-naira-capital-from-a-52-million-na/6840036069428106/ This Mrs Awosika example happened in a period of lower inflation.. of course the appreciation rate(net of inflation) is not always this steep. MeekGram7:I agree 100%. Agriculture and real estate are some of the best long-term investments, especially if you’re thinking of building something you can pass down. And if you're not ready to go all in yet, you can start small with fractional real estate. You don't need millions to begin, but you're still investing in actual property that grows with time. Solid way to start. |

being:seems like you’re missing the core of what I’m trying to say. I’m not denying that stories like this happen… they do But the way it often happen is like a rare unicorn… one in a thousand, maybe even one in ten thousand. And I can’t build a business on luck or on chances that slim. I’ve sat with this for a while… thinking, rethinking, turning it over in my head. After a lot of deliberation, I’ve come to a conclusion that feels grounded in clarity not hope or luck or spkepicisitim , hoping my property fit go up in 10 years time , I can’t do that pls… it my hard earned money we are talking about here not some kind of lottery win …. Just About a week ago sef , I was just scrolling through Instagram when a friend sent me a message with a link. “You need to see this,” they said. Curious, I clicked it, and it took me to a post exposing “P Wan Real Estate” for allegedly scamming their followers. As I read through the details, my heart sank. The post laid it all bare… how this company had been scamming people in with promises of dream homes, affordable plots, and secure investments, only to take their money and allocate fake stuffs to them . People had poured their life savings , just imagine it oga , their hopes, their futures into these deals, only to be left with nothing… Really couldn’t stop thinking about it. The more I read, the deeper it cut. kept imagining the way real estate is often presented in Nigeria feels a lot like a Ponzi scheme to me. Flashy, fast, and full of promises … but when you strip it down, the risks are heavy, and Like Recyclables.. like robbing Peter to pay Paul . And I’m not built for that kind of gamble. Have done my homework … real feasibility studies. And from everything I’ve learned and experienced, I can say with my full chest : compounding is the fastest and safest bet . It’s not flashy, but it’s solid. It works … predictably, consistently .. and that’s what I need to build something that lasts. That’s the path I’ve chosen. Thank you |

AmgAmg: AmgAmg:From my observation, I think your fears are where and who to get involved in your fund. Even if the interest rates are not as much as stated, you're still likely to choose this mode of investment. It's quite unfortunate how corrupt our people have become. Your own blood sef no safe. At least there are businesses that one can earn as much as 40-50% profits, but trust is the key ooo! |

Agrozone:Yes , They actually do . Treasury bills right now paying around 19.5- 20%, and the cool part is that the interest is paid upfront. So if you reinvest that upfront interest again and again, you’re basically earning twice from one investment. When you calculate it properly, you’re looking at something around 22%–23% interest annually … Most mutual funds on the other had , from what I’ve seen so far , fall within the 22%–24% range. ARM, for instance, is offering about 22%, and some others are even higher and the good part about mutual funds they usually pay quarterly, So if you’re reinvesting your earnings consistently , you’re getting the power of compounding. That means even if a fund says 22% per year, you could end up with a real return of 24% or more by the end of the year. Same with commercial paper, Just last month, FCMB’s was paying around 23%–24% for 254 days tenor The key thing here is low risk and steady compounding over time. Which I can’t say for any other investment in Nigeria right now Categorically , you just have to stay consistent and there’s a real chance I can grow over a billion in 10 years time |

AmgAmg:I fully agree with you, OP, AmgAmg. You can also diversify the funds into Convertible Notes and Hedge Funds (my industry). I would rather you invest in the capital markets, financial markets than to deal with businesses that deals with FULL human beings. I am a Nigerian based in Nigeria with an office in the middle east. Compounding should be your key watch word in your investment decisions. |

AmgAmg:That’s why I told you to do buying and selling business, a lot of scams is in Nigeria till the extent that you might not believe if their are real business. Last month, a friend told me that the land he bought for farming has been collected by the University; Lautech Ogbomoso. He has acquired the land going to 10 years now, unknowing that it has issues. But suddenly, they are claiming ownership again. What really happened was before university started in 1990s, several thousands of acres were given out from like 15 families freely to University because they were interested in the development of their town. So, I think they requested for some amount of money but lautech didn’t pay for those land, probably they think it was given freely. When they realize lautech doesn’t pay, they started selling the lands out. Several hundreds of people has built houses, farms equipment and infrastructure there. So, I think probably they have now paid for it but those lands already has occupant. Those people living there has been sent out of their own land now. People affected is not one or two o, it will reach like 1000 houses, because it’s thousands of acres. Houses, churches, farms, schools, hospitals, mosques, has grown on the land since the letting out. What will affected individuals do now? |

Threads like this is the last place I'll ever pitch anything I'll rather eat my popcorn while reading through different opinions here and there. As for the op amgamg , just do you .... At the end you're absolutely responsible for the outcome of your life. Asides from some conversations here that only broadens on your choice of multiplication, others are literally trying to pitch you one or two to eat a chunk of your wealth If T.bills and mutual funds is the way you know you'll be safe with your inheritance, do it and have your peace of mind . And as for those proposing business to you or one investment of a sort , you'll be better off not yielding to any of those opinions even though you asked for them because, except it's your own personal decision to run a business or startup or buying and selling, the possibility of a business surviving in this present day Nigeria in 35% , and you certainly don't want to bank your inheritance on this . So while you put your funds into " securities " I personally will advice you to get a skill that's not financially inclusive to onboard on. Get a skill where you'll offer your value and get paid for it so that your whole dependency isn't on flipping 150m to 1bn. In as much as t.bills and other are valid , if you keep chasing how to desperately flips those funds , there's a possibility of parting away with some as losses Godspeed and goodluck AmgAmg |

AmgAmg:Good afternoon brother and happy new year to you and everyone. Good to know that you finally made the decision to go the route of compounding approach to investment through TB, MMF and others. I am currently in a similar situation like yours having half of what you had then (75m) with me right now. Having some thought of what to do with it. Thinking of 1. Quitting my 8 to 5 job and starting a business. (Risk of starting a new business) 2. Starting a side business while still continuing my 8 to 5 job. (Risk of putting someone fully in charge of your business) 3. Investing in some promising start up and becoming part owner of the business. (Difficulty in seeing one and the guarantee of success) 4. Going the investment and compounding (MMF, TB) route while continuing my 8 to 5 job. (Very low ROI) So I believe you must have started the investment already, how is it going? What would you advise me in my situation, would you advise I go with option no. 4. Guys which option do you think is the best for me in my situation. Please note that the source of the money (75m) was just once, so don't tell me to continue with what gave me the money. My 8 to 5 job is also very reasonable and can comfortably solve my personal needs without any worries. |
