Lanretoye:You are still supporting these people who are oppressing masses and taking everything away from them but they themselves are getting public services free of charge and they have stolen more than enough to pay for the services once they leave power. 5600 mega watts for about 250 million population and you think someone leaving AC on is the problem, who even leaves AC on 24/7? |

It is so easy to churn out poverty inducing reforms when you have institutionally and corruptly insulated yourself from the negative consequences of those reforms... |

aribisala0:Are you in anyway insinuating that we've not been paying for electricity? The question from the publication is that can we say there's been a commensurate increase in power generation and distribution, in comparison to the increased tariff since the last one year. They talk about lack of investment in the power sector, but nobody is asking them where they plugged the excess revenue they've generated since the last year of this current tariff.... remember the amount of power we've generated has remained static since Jonathan's era....so again, where have they been channelling the excess from the increased revenue to? Nigeria's problem is not revenue generation. Those who lied to you that the government is poor or cannot cater to the needs of Nigerians because of our population are being economical with the truth. The country lacks proper accountability and they're too many gullible ones that are easily swayed or lied to. Kill corruption and watch the country progress. |

Lanretoye:This is not about crying, this about deception. My area was moved to band A since it was introduced before we were moved back to band C like two months ago followed the order from the NERC, no wailing. I have got over 500 units (kwh) on my prepaid meter. |
| Re: Nigerians Kick As FG Hints At Electricity Tariff Hike by aribisala0(m): 9:38am On Jul 10, 2025 |
Ade3131:No . I am not insinuating anything. Government has been subsidizing electricity and cannot afford it so the subsidy will have to go and the consumer will have to pay. It is not complicated Tariff is individual You pay for what you use and the government is out only acting as a regulator to protect consumer rights an safety This has nothing to do Nigeria's problem not being revenue generation that is irrelevant Electricity is a business just like Telephony From a commercial perspective there is no difference Those who use the product should pay for what they use People need to realize that electricity consumption is a commercial transaction between them and a business entity Just like MTN or Glo. Once that realization sinks in perspectives will change |
