In this we agree. I think what Kenneth meant is that, defeating is not enough. Protecting and defending your win is the case and the northerners are notorious on that. If a northerner wins for instance, you can't steal the votes they'll all rise to defend it. But the case is different of a southerner does.
I want you to understand something. If the North cannot support Peter Obi as the coalition candidate, the South will do the same to Atiku. Tinubu will very easily buy their votes. It’s the South’s turn to complete a 4-year term, if the North can’t honor that agreement, it’s going to be an easier contest for Tinubu

I tire for this Kenneth okoko sef person with labour party without any governor or structure back up obi win 9 states give that person with Tinubu one on one weda he no go spoil him face before dem announce final results this Kenneth okoko is dull
Mention 9 states you think Obi will win now. Lagos is out of the way for Obi because Yoruba that voted for him in Lagos will not do so again because of fear of muslim-muslim ticket. Don't forget that Obi won Lagos with just less than 10,000 votes. Abuja that Obi won, he can't win it again because of Wike performance now. They will want Wike to come back again to continue his performance when Tinubu wins. Southern Kaduna that gave Obi votes will not do so this time because of what Tinubu has done for them by making sure they are no longer being marginalized. Northerners will not vote for Obi because of religion biased and Igbo hatred of their region. Tinubu will get more votes from south south this time around because almost all their leaders are now in APC. So, only Igbos will vote for Obi and few southerners and few northerners that will not amount to 25%, so where do you want obi to get votes that will win Tinubu face to face?

Kenneth Okwonko got it wrong. Now, Peter Obi is more popular than he was in 2023. If Atiku and others in the coalition should allow him clinge the ticket and talk to their people in the North, no way, he will beat Bulaba because people are tired of this evil party called APC.

Wrong. Both Peter Obi and/or Atiku will defeat Tinubu at the polls, but Peter Obi has a higher chance of defeating Tinubu than Atiku.

Peter Obi defeated Tinubu in a 3-horse race in 2023 and will defeat him again in 2027.
You are adding sentiment.

Remove it and look at the TRUE numbers. The ONLY way is to have Atiku and Obi contest on the same ticket..
They already have about 14 million votes collectively. Let them come together and go to the polls with that number against Tinubu's dwindling 8 million votes.

I do not envy any Obidient right now. They all jumped into the adc river with both legs, not even caring a hoot to check how deep it is. Now they're clutching at anything they can, trying not to drown.... But it seems it's too late.
Don't throw a party yet.

I am a staunch Obidient and a realist.

Atiku and Obi must be on the same ticket with their collective standing 14 million votes in order to defeat Tinubu with his dwindling 8 million votes and that is what is going to happen.

Politics is give and take. So, yes Kenneth Okonkwo has a valid point.

Why not go back to acting instead of disgracing urself in the public. Does Atiku or El rufai look like who can beat Tinubu? Atiku got that number of votes in 2023 because PDP is the major opposition party. If ADC gives him the Ticket, na total Annihilation.

The way some people talk of the north beat some us from the very north hollow,it sounds as if somebody will just give a directive n everyone from the north Will just comply, simply put why can't the north with their large numbers support a southern candidate for a single term presidency so that power can return back to the north in 2031 in the spirit of equity and national inclusion?, take or leave it, tinubu will win if Atiku is fielded time shall tell.

Okonkwo is just another bwala and reno. He seems to be licking atiku's ass. He knows he can never be in a good book of Obi. He's been spewing jargon lately. How on earth will atiku win any state in the south as it stands today? The only candidate that can do that conveniently is Obi and he knows this. Kenneth belongs to the league of anywhere belle face politicians and his intentions became evident too early while in LP. We need committed Nigerians who will really move her forward, not the jegudujera like him. Atiku should step down or he'll lose again. Those pushing him are only interested in his dollars. He's going nowhere. Had inec not saved tinubu in 2023 with rigging, obi won that election. Mahmoud, being a fulani man dared not touch atiku's votes. They don't betray each other and that's why he left his votes intact. What happened in rivers and benue alone were enough to drag inec to the world court unfortunately, its a national issue. It wouldn't go beyond Nigeria. I don't see that happening in 2027 except they want to bring Nigeria down in crisis. I'm sure no man's wicked ambition will be worth that.

Peter Obi/Elrufai will seal the deal. Elrufai will capture some core northern states for Obi as the latter clears the middle belt, maybe except kogi. Tinubu can't grab all the south western states. I said he'd lose lagos in 2023 but they called me names. We still dey ground, same 2023 spoilers for tinubu in Lagos and well do it again, if Obi runs. Things were even much better in 2023 than they are now so, Tinubu's chance is slim here. I don't see any miracle that can change that and same will happen in other states in the country. Truth they day, is always bitter. Those supporting him know this deep down, that he has messed up big time.
Obi/El Rufai ticket? You must be dreaming. The average Northern Christian does not like El Rufai. Be like you no know.

Kenneth Okonkwo and the Fiction of a Northern Voting Monolith
When Nollywood meets political naivety, the result is national comedy
.

Kenneth Okonkwo’s latest appearance on Channels TV is the kind of political performance best left on a movie set. His claim—that only a northern heavyweight like Atiku can defeat President Tinubu in 2027—isn’t analysis; it’s lazy fiction, penned by an armchair Nollywood analyst mistaking regional myths for political science.

To start, there is no such thing as a single northern voting bloc. That fantasy belongs in a poorly written script, not on a national stage. The so-called “12 million Buharist vote bank” was not transferrable, and certainly not to Atiku. Buhari earned that number through decades of grassroots hustle, not borrowed glory.

Even with that mythical northern clout, Buhari lost in 2003 and 2011 to Presidents Obasanjo and Jonathan, both from the South. If a man who actually had the North couldn’t unseat a southern incumbent, how then does Kenneth believe Atiku—perpetually rejected by even his hometown—can do what Buhari could not?

Kenneth, once Peter Obi’s spokesman, now dances clumsily in Atiku’s corner like a man who changes loyalty the way a confused actor changes costumes—hoping one will finally land him the lead role. His political compass swings wildly, not with principle, but with the desperation of relevance.

He speaks of strategy, yet thinks in stereotypes. He analyses elections the way a child reads fables—believing that geography trumps character, and that recycled candidates inspire revolutions.

Nigeria deserves better than this tired, tribalist tale.
Very well said.

There's NOTHING like a Northern monolithic voting bloc. Many of these naive young posters here and Kenneth do NOT understand the unfolding geopolitical dynamics of Nigeria.

As I type this, there are videos of angry male and female indigenous majority Hausas who have called out the minority Fulani political hegemony of Berber North African paternal lineage (Fulas are NOT Negros) for hijacking the Governor and Deputy-Governor positions in ALL Hausa States since 1999 which constitutes apartheid by Fulas who are NOT indigenous to Hausa land. They also are condemning the continuous killings of indigenous Hausas by foreign Fula herders and bandits for years with these Fulas taking over Hausa lands and renaming their communities to Fulani names under the watch of these Fulani Governors and past Fulani Presidents.

Second, with these facts, the Hausa votes will largely NOT go to a perceived Fula oppressor as they have vowed in those videos.

Under President Bola Tinubu, who is definitely NOT fully aware of the geopolitics of the far North, the Hausas are the owners of the land NOT Fulas who just planted themselves pretending to be of Hausa stock. But Hausas and Fulanis are distinct groups speaking completely different languages. It's a security risk to Tinubu's Presidency that the minority Fulas are in charge as the NSA, the Minister of Defense, the Minister of State for defense, some arms of the security agencies, Governors, Deputy-Governors, Senators, etc.
This is why they keep feeding incorrect information to the media and the Presidency that what is going on is a mere farmer-herder clash which is NOT! It's a foreign invasion to grab lands and change the population of the North to harbor more foreign Fulas who will then pass themselves off as Nigerians and this the indigenous Hausas, Benue, Southern Kaduna and Plateau State folks have seen. These minority Fula political hegemonists have planted themselves in strategic positions to the detriment of the indigenous Hausas of Nigeria and President Tinubu MUST correct that in order to be reelected in 2027. Justice MUST be done for the Hausas to gain political power of their States, and the over 250 indigenous ethnic groups of Nigeria who have also come under the seige of the foreign Fulas from the Sahel for decades.

Coincidentally, Dr. Kach Ononuju also did a recent interview which was uploaded online on July 2, 2025 where he warned about having another Fula President again as they usually encourage their foreign kinsmens militia to come in to kill indigenous Nigerians and take over their lands.

A major constitutional amendment is urgently needed in 2025 to break the grip of Fula political hegemony on the majority indigenous Hausas and Nigeria as a whole for decades now unfortunately aided by the British Colonialists.

Succinctly stated in the bolder texts right ABOVE and directly BELOW. It's only those who are naive about the geopolitical dynamics of Nigeria that are rooting for the return of a Fulani who will proceed to encourage the killings of indigenous Nigerians by his foreign Fulani kinsmen from the Sahel. Period.

President Tinubu, the Senate, House of Representatives members, and the State Governors too has to move very quickly into the NEXT phase by ensuring that the constitutional amendments start immediately and CNG fuel is used to massively crash the cost of living for folks over there in Nigeria by fitting the Nigerian Railway trains with CNG fuel for mass haulage of foods as promised by Dr. Kayode Opeifa, and haulage trucks fitted with CNG fuel systems will crash the price of food items. Security through community policing and state policing with the deployment of advanced surveillance and attack drones and advanced satellite tracking systems will STOP the foreign Fulani invasions of indigenous Nigerian lands from Katsina, Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, Niger in the North to Delta State, Ondo, Enugu, Benue, Kwara, Kogi, Oyo, etc. This is what bothers the Nigerians MOST. Once Nigerians see an improvement in their lives through cheaper transportation, cheaper medication, better security and feeding, it's Nigerians who will gladly come out to reelect Tinubu and he has from this month of July to the end of 2026 to achieve that. If NOT, he will NOT be reelected alongside Kashim Shettima who he mustn't be changed as a VP. The NEXT President of Nigeria after Tinubu MUST either be an indigenous Hausa for the first time ever in Nigerian history, a Berom, Kanuri, Angas, Anaguta, Tarok, whatever ethnicity from the Old North of Nigeria BUT NOT a Fulani who will reverse ALL the positive government policies to favor his foreign Fula kinsmen to continue the land grabbings of the Hausas and other indigenous Nigerian ethnic groups! Senator Shehu Sani is one of the few Fulas I can trust to NOT betray Nigerians (based on their past June 12 pro-democracy struggles) in favor of a very parochial Fula hegemony. For instance, Nasir El-Rufai, Sule Lamido, and Atiku Abubakar, and others who are CLEARLY all minorities, they cannot be trusted as they will pursue the Fula dominance agenda of the Fula political hegemonists. Period.

Oga, pls stop this sentiment. Who told you the southerners have been fair to the north in this current dispensation?

mathematically the north should produce the next President. This is my analysis: South: OBJ: 8yrs + Jonathan 6yrs + Tinubu 4yrs - that’s a total of 18yrs for south. North: Yaradua 2yrs + Buhari 8yrs - that’s a total of 10yrs. Giving Tinubu another 4yrs means south would have done a total of 22yrs and north: 10yrs.
So what happen from 1960 to 1999? Or there was no Nigeria then? Maybe because you were not born then we should not count it

As a strong Obidient who also believes in Peter Obi, I strongly agree with Kenneth Okonkwo.

To defeat Tinubu, Northwest, Northeast and Southeast votes must be completely locked no matter the rigging.

We must factor in INEC and the security. Tinubu's only confidence and assurance to win a reelection is in massive rigging of the 2027 Presidential election.

To counter his plans and make it come to nothing, the coalition must work together to lock the overwhelming votes that will come from:

Northwest
Northeast
Southeast

and the only way to lock those votes is by using a strong Northerner like Atiku or El Rufai as the Presidential flagbearer with a strong Southeasterner like Peter Obi as the Vice or Running mate.

With Atiku/Obi ticket, Tinubu may not even contest because he knows he is gone already.

With Atiku/Obi ticket, nobody born of a woman can rig:

Northwest
Northeast
Southeast

and live to tell the story. Any attempt to change the result like 2023 will lead to national chaos which may turn to full national revolution.

The coalition should not make the mistake of allowing a Southerner get the ticket if not Tinubu will win.

We must be realistic in our calculations.

The whole North are angry with Tinubu, they are the ones to lead the voting out of Tinubu alongside Igbos whom Tinubu ignored/sidelined. And the North don't have the level of enlightenment we Southerners have, they have a voting pattern. Despite what Tinubu did for Buhari and picking a Muslim as Vice, plus constant donations to the North in the past, Northerners were still reluctant to vote for Tinubu in 2023 such that Tinubu had to open Lagos state treasury vault to buy INEC to help him out which is why Tinubu has been angry with the North, now think about it, is it Peter Obi, an Igbo man that the North will troop out en masse to vote for in 2027?

Northerners usually prefer their own, so if we are sure we want to unseat Tinubu in 2027, the coalition party must field Atiku and Obi in one ticket. Tambuwal cannot do it, El Rufai and Obi can also do it but Atiku is the best man to fly the coalition ticket.

Anybody telling Obi and Obedients otherwise is trying to gaslight them so that Tinubu will win
God bless you. Your sense of reasoning and judgement is highly commendable moreso been an Obidient. Anybody that loves Nigeria and truly wants APC out of power in 2027 should advise Obi to jettisson his presidential ambition momentarily and team up with Atiku as VP. It's his greatest pathway (and that of Southeast) to attain the presidency in the nearest future.

Atiku/Obi ticket will undoubtedly defeat Tinubu in 2027 but if Obi remains recalsitrant, Atiku should pick any other prominent person (like Ihedioha) from the Southeast and try his luck.

Obi WILL NOT defeat Tinubu as a presidential candidate in 2027. It's as clear as daylight.
