The consensus option being canvassed by some of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential aspirants appears dead despite spirited efforts by its protagonists to make it happen.

Further assault on the plan came yesterday from Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike who branded consensus advocates as insincere.

The Nation also learnt that the Pan-Igbo cultural group, Ohanaeze, and some presidential hopefuls from the Southeast are in the process of working out a counter move against the consensus option engineered by four aspirants from the North.

Sources in the All Progressives Congress (APC) completely ruled it out of consideration in the party.

Wike, it was gathered, currently has the support of five of the 13 PDP governors in his bid for the presidency while four others are rooting for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Interesting. Anything to make these two corrupt parties implode. Unfortunately our next president is from one of them.

Ok. All I know is APC=PDP=APC=PDP.

An accused in one party is a Saint in another.

If we don't get it right as electorate by booting all of them out of power come 2023, na we sabi. Nigeria has witnessed its worst moments as a country under these to useless parties.

Our military institution was hit, no arrest was made.

The rail infrastructure they borrowed billions of dollar to build was hit, no arrest was made, Buhari didn't say a word in the media.

An international airport was invaded, a plane was stopped from Flying and a passenger was killed, no areast was made.

National grid had collapsed for over a month now and Power remains epileptic, nobody is saying anything and we keep enduring. Same people called Obasanjo, Jonathan all manner of names for the instability in the power sector. Now, who would the APC blame for the power plant that had collapsed 3 times in one month with no solution at sight after investing almost tipple of what Obasanjo spent...ghost? Last week, my bank passed a.circular that they'd reduce their working hours due to the cost of operations, that their branches nationwide were running on diesel daily.

If we still go ahead and vote these people next year, people like Tinubu who owns one of the Discos, but keeps telling Nigerians that, had the current administration heeded his warnings, that the power grid wouldn't have collapsed...as if he's not in the same APC anymore. That's how they role people. We must shine our eyes else, we remain in same position and the condition would keep getting worse. You'd just wake up one day while struggling and look in the mirror, only to see grey hair all over your head. Then you'd realise you've spent your youthful years under slavery.

Time waits for now man/woman and the time.ti act is now. Go get your PVCs ahead of elections . Elections aren't won on Nairaland

I like how Wike is standing strong for Presidency to shift to the South in 2023
Buhari cannot rule 8 years for another northerner to continue. Those northern APC peeps will just decamp to meet Atiku.

Atiku already achieved his zoning objective in 2015 when he supported Buhari against GEJ

Tambuwal is an ingrate for not standing with Wike after all Wike did for him pre 2019

Wike or Peter Obi must get that PDP ticket

Wike for presidency is a joke. We're still not hearing enough of the name of the man we want.
Obi isn't doing enough. That's the problem we have.

Then corruption and suffering will continue for the next 8 years. I also believe more criminals in apc who are in jail will be pardoned just like Dariye.

But if pdp enters we will have a yardstick of measurement as regards failure, corruption, and insurgency. It will be a matter of who failed less, who was less corrupt and whether insurgency didnt worsen under them.

When these two parties compare themselves to each other it is never about who made life better for Nigerians but about whether things didnt get worse.

How I wish all the Igbos in PDP could unite together, put aside their differences and present Mr Peter Obi as their Presidential candidate, then he would emerge as the next President of Nigeria by God's graces.

The whole concensus arrangement in PDP is a plot to usher in Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

It is the turn of the South to produce a president, and so shall it be!

Wike for President

Make Dokpesi and his boss Atiku go rest, likewise Saraki, Tambuwal, and that Hayatu-Deen abi wetin be em name.

Consensus arrangement is not democratic , it's only a weakling politician without structures and pedigree to win elections that usually crave for consensus, so that they can be hand picked. Osibanjo and Amaechi fall under such categories of people. Osibanjo ran Lekki , where he was beaten in his doorstep to Ikenne, while Amaechi is a serial loser to Wike, hence, their prayers for concensus.

How I wish this writeup will make it beyond nairaland, how I wish Nigerians will unite behind this revelation and bring about revolution, how I wish we get it right this time but trust me we aren't gonna get it right because nigerians will still vote along ethnic/ religious lines instead of voting competency.
