TemporaryHansel:I am always for respecting your host anywhere you go. Immigration is a privilege given by the hosts and not a right That is why I am against those who are protesting immigration laws in America and flying Mexican and other foreign flags while burning US flags You wont see me dragging immigration with an American because I do not have any right to their land, the only place I have rights to is Oyo state the land of my ancestors not another man's land |

raumdeuter:When u say dragging, does contesting an election against a native count as dragging with the host? |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by raumdeuter: 5:45pm On Jul 09, 2025 |
BlueRayDick:When I say dragging like telling them their land is no mans land. Denigrating their cultures of way of life, Or insisting they grant me rights I wont grant them at my place For them to allow me stay in their country and give me what my own land wont give me, they have already overtried Arnold Schwazenegger one of the greatest immigrant story said recently when you come to America, you’re a guest, and you have to behave like a guest. Like when I go to someone’s house and I’m a guest, then I will do everything I can to keep things clean, and to make my bed and to do everything that is the right thing to do |

BlueRayDick:His assertions, especially as it relates to reciprocity, are correct. It was fool’ish for Nigerian Immigration policy makers to cut the prior 5-yr multiple entry visa policy to a single-entry visa policy of 3 months validity. What were they expecting other countries to do? To ignore our policy somersault and blindly continue being relatively generous with multiple entry visas for Nigerians? Nah. Diplomacy doesn’t work that way. |

raumdeuter:Lol, you know a lot of the things you give as your opinions in the US thread can be termed by persons who consider themselves as true American's as you not respecting the way of life of the hosts? In fact, with the way America's politics is so polarized, it's impossible to pick a position on anything without it being deemed you disrespecting a set of "hosts". |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by raumdeuter: 5:58pm On Jul 09, 2025 |
Theflint1:They can be polarized on policies but the fabric of America I will never disrespect Most of my comments in American politics are very respectful of my host and I always repeat how I am grateful to be given the privilege to be here. Its not my right. America has given to me more than my home land did I will never support anyone who disrespect Americas military, disrespect their culture, burn American flag, chant "death to America" . |

raumdeuter:There are several Nigerians online who talk down on the American way of life. I don't think the US has prevented Nigerians from contesting elections because of that. There are videos of Nigerians who talk down on the British's culture of taking their elderly ones to care home instead of taking care of the kids taking care of them at home like we Africans do. I don't think Nigerians in general have been victimized because of that over there. Ethnic Arabs and Africans have been joining protests in the west for years and I don't think those western countries have made it a policy to exclude people from such countries from contesting and voting in an election. What happened during 2023 elections is shameful and should not be happening in this age and time. There's actually no justification for it. Election is supposed to be a test of popularity, let the candidate who manages to amass the most votes win. People should not be prevented from exercising their franchise because of their skin color, where they originally hail from or who u perceive they will vote for. |

raumdeuter:And how do you know your comments are respectful? Is it by saying you appreciate the opportunity America gave you after expressing opinions that tons of true Americans would disagree with? I'm sure a lot of democrats and far left groups would not look kindly to some of the things you say about what they consider to be the culture of America. Heck they might even question your right to even have an opinion about their country. |

BlueRayDick:The response to any Nigerian that talks down America, Britain etc is why are you not going back to your homeland The govt can make it a policy or the people who feel insulted can take action. Many Western govt are starting to take sweeping actions against countries or people from a region if they feel they are not respecting their cultures Trump banned travelers into US from all Islamic countries in his first tenure, The current govt is revoking visas and Green cards of people who are foreigners and insulting the country Why do you think they are asking for all Social Media handles before applying for a visa. No govt have to accept you if they feel you are disrespectful of them Let there be enough Nigerians making those comments to be noticed and you will see the response from the govt Now to the individuals, There are Britons and Americans and Europeans who are pissed at the behavior of those they see as antagonistic foreigners. There was a riot in UK last year where hotels housing some Arab immigrants were attacked. A Mexican who in the last few weeks when the riots was going on chose to fly a Big Mexican flag on his car and he was flashed a gun by someone who feels he is disrespecting his own America When you are an immigrant its basic common sense to be respectful of your host and their traditions. I wont go to Saudi or any Moslem country and decide my ancestors always have to eat pork and I must rear pork even if their cultures are against it |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by raumdeuter: 6:13pm On Jul 09, 2025 |
Theflint1:The left are mostly those who try to denigrate Americas culture and the right are those who uphold Americas culture. Actually the criticism of the right is that they are too patriotic and flag huggers |

BlueRayDick is it because Lagos state was forced to stop tolling that's why they left that whole road to rot away.. Because I don't understand it. With all the high PAYE they receive from companies/businesses on that road |

raumdeuter:In all of this u have said, u have not mentioned instances where people have been denied their constitutional rights because they "denigrate" their host's culture. I guess u really can't bring up a justification for the shameful conduct we witnessed during the last election. Even when people are to be deported in western countries like America, people still contest the decision in law courts. But here we make it seem like a group of people should be denied their franchise because their kinsmen posts something gbey probably don't agree with online. |

liveLongNprospa:I think Sanwoolu has just been poor generally when it comes to road infrastrure. Perhaps Ambode over achieved in his 4 years and it makes it difficult for one to really hold Sanwoolu to that standard. Although Sanwoolu commissioned some roads recently but to be honest he has been below par in delivering on road projects in the past 6 years. |

raumdeuter:You’re typing from the comfort of a country built on immigration, diversity, and merit, yet you’re here justifying tribal gatekeeping like you’re defending your family compound. You speak of "respecting your host" while supporting a system in Lagos that disrespects fellow Nigerians, people who share the same passport and pay the same taxes. You enjoy the full benefits of a country where nobody asked if your ancestors were on the Mayflower before giving you healthcare, security, and the chance to thrive, but back home you support laws that ask other Nigerians to show state-of-origin receipts before they can even vote? You say immigration is a privilege, so what is freedom of movement within your own country? Or is that also a privilege now, handed out based on dialect? You live in the US where people from everywhere become governors, senators, even vice president, nobody tells them to “go back to their ancestral state.” But the moment an Igbo man wants to contest councillorship in Lagos, you're on the frontline with your "go back to your village" hymnal. Celebrating fairness abroad while pushing segregation at home is not patriotism, it's plain cowardice. |

BlueRayDick:People's visas are revoked, peoples Green card are canceled, Countries are banned from entering the US. What more do they need to show you that Foreigners who disrespect them will face consequences Whatever you saw in the election happens regularly all over Nigeria, Its simply agenda chasing to point to one part of the country. There is nothing showing that any govt in Nigeria is doing that In America and Europe too, an individual or groups of individuals can choose to react to provocation without govt endorsement of their actions. Like those who attacked hotels where some immigrants are living |

raumdeuter:This is your opinion, a lot on the left point to the constitution as what protects their right to have the opinions they have, and every now and again have the courts rule favorably on those opinions, so you can't truly say which group is disrespecting the American way of life. In fact, that a ruling is made on something today does not mean it won't change down the road, so what's considered the American way of life evolves, and room is created for this in their constitution that allows for freedom of expression. Actually, if you really deep am, the only way you can say you're being truly respectful of people's way of life is by abstaining...you can't camp on the American politics thread expressing strong opinions on issues and say you're respectful to a people's way of life. It's like you come to my house and see my wife and I having disagreement over an issue then you the visitor starts expressing strong opinions on the issue, no way it won't be seen that you've disrespected either of us, or even the both of us sef. |

TemporaryHansel:How come this agenda about going back to your village is only focused on Lagos? Hw many places in Nigeria outside lagos do non indigenes get to contest How come na only Lagos dey pain you? This is a man proudly saying that Ebonyi indigenes cannot contest in Lagos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mvt_EmU-0JY Bianca Ojukwu was opposed in her bid to contest in Anambra state even though she was married to a prominent Anambra family https://punchng.com/massob-opposes-bianca-ojukwus-senatorial-bid/ https://dailypost.ng/2018/09/05/2019-bianca-not-anambra-cant-senator-ojukwus-family-vow/ You never talk wetin dey pain you. raumdeuter:Whataboutism. Strictly on the principles of being respectful to your hosts, you have no right to express opnions on whatever true American's consider to be their way of life, not to mention attending political meetings, or being a registered member of a political party. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by raumdeuter: 6:34pm On Jul 09, 2025 |
Theflint1:Why not wait for an American to say that first abi? If Americans say Nigerians should not discuss the politics of America again then I will abide |
