US-flagged ships are rare. Most US and Israeli ships (and western ships generally) are flagged in countries like Liberia for tax reasons. Shippers call it "flag of convenience."

US or Israeli sailors are also rare. Most low and mid-ranking sailors are from countries like Philippines and India. Many top ranking ship crew are also from Russia and India. Ship engineers are also from India with some from Russia.

It's rare to find Americans or even westerners in these roles or on ships in general.

Houthis have also made it clear that they're only targeting Israeli-owned or israeli-bound ships. Anything outside of that does not interest them.

Chinese, Russian, European, American, African, and Lebanese owned or bound ships continue to sail freely. But those owned or bound to Israel aren't.

We saw the moves from miles out.
It appears the "end-the-war" dance was to get Russia to back off on Iran.
Now that the attack is over and China is stepping up, they don't need to play nice with Russia anymore.

He should send weapons.

I'm not sure how he expects Russia to take his ceasefire proposal serious after he assassinated Iranian military top brass during negotiations.

So even if Ukraine is not a military outpost, it can contribute economically to a future NATO war effort.

So they'll have a low-intensity conflict with Russia.
Another conflict in the Middle East, because Satanyahu is the perfect warhawk who literally must keep fighting to avoid jailtime.
Even if the war in Gaza ends, he'll just turn to Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Iran. All munitions provided by the US/NATO of course.
