Masterviolence:There is a flaw in this assessment. The JCPOA agreement accepted Iran's right to enrich uranium. Russia did not protest at the time. Now that Israel and its lapdog the US are asking for Iran to give up that right. All of a sudden, Putin agrees with them. Explain that change. If you're just going to parrot Western demands unless your own security is threatened, what is the point of the "multipolarity" you keep pushing? With friends like Putin, who needs enemies? -Lord |

LordAdam16:This would be the most sensible thing they've done in a long time. Some Iranian officials talked about resuming talks with USA yesterday and it made me question my support for the country. If they are making preparations then such statements make perfect sense. They want to put Iran in the bag at all costs and only brute force can save Iran |

LordAdam16:That is likely an attempt to sow discord between them because if Putin did say that, it would be too sensitive for them to disclose to the media. I believe Putin has a soft spot for Israel and he ought to more for Iran, but such treachery would be too costly for Russia in the long run. Russians offer tremendous assistance to their nuclear program and I'm not sure how true this is, but former CIA analyst Larry Johnson said Russia helped Iran recover from several cyber attacks throughout the war. I am still hesitant to draw a final conclusion on Putin |

FoolishBoy419:I watched a Muslim talk about this, he said in Islam you can’t kill non combatants in a war. The supreme leader didn’t allow Iran to retaliate with chemical weapons when Iraq used chemical weapons during the war. I think ( I may be wrong about this) the supreme leader is basically like the pope to Shia Islam so he sees things from a religious point of view. If the Vatican was in Iran’s shoes am sure the Pope won’t approve nuclear weapons. It seems naive considering the enemy they’re fighting but I understand their point of view. I also understand people criticising them but I won’t criticise their moral views. |

FoolishBoy419:In the 21st century, you do not publicly state that you forgo negotiations in its entirety. In 2019 after acquiring nukes, North Korea was open to dismantling its primary nuclear facility for sanctions relief. That deal fell apart because the US, as always, wanted more. You receive communication, claim your doors of diplomacy are always open, and you strategically ignore it. Iran is doing this atm, at least for now. Could change. Araqchi did say Iran was open to talks. He added, however, that negotiations will only be about its nuclear program. And any agreement must incorporate Iran's right to enrichment. Their position has not changed from before the war. Only now they add the easy to miss condition that after the US/Israel sucker punch in the middle of negotiations, they're not eager to return to the table and must secure guarantees first. The US/Israel now interpret this as them buying time for a rebuild. Consequently, they're ratcheting plans to attack again before that rebuild can be completed.. I'll give you another example. Iran goes to great lengths to insist that they have not abandoned the NPT. But there are no IAEA inspectors in Iran anymore and they've removed all IAEA monitoring systems. They're still an NPT signatory. But the IAEA is unable to enforce the critical part of the NPT and JCPOA (which is still active as the E3 have not joined in placing massive sanctions on Iran). They're having their cake and eating it. Of course, since a war is imminent, both schemes serve them well until the missiles start flying. The only hubbub about Iran is that they have very obvious lapses in vital areas. And that is fouling the entirety of their strategy. Think for a minute, if they actually had better opsec. They'd have repelled more of Israel's attack and be in a stronger position going into the next round. -Lord |

WritterNg:During the 80s, at the height of the cold war Jonathan Pollard a US Navy intelligence officer was captured spying for Israel, the Israelis in turn passed the stolen classified information to the Soviets. Some reports suggested the information might have been used to facilitate the emigration of Soviet Jews. In 2011 PM Ben Netanyahu begged for the release of Jonathan Pollard and he was released in 2015. The relationship between Russia and Israel is not that complicated after all. |

A single killed in action fatality is published by the IDf talkless of five killed in a combat incident. Anything to make you guys sleep better is welcome |

FoolishBoy419:It is a little bit of both. Again, I'll use NK as an example. Russia joined the enforcement of nuclear sanctions against North Korea. Even China did, and they used it to secure leverage over North Korea. North Korea could not do anything without China's say-so, because China linked its enforcement of sanctions on NK to NK willingness to be China's vassal. It's a bit of an abusive relationship. But that's the status quo. Until the start of the Ukraine war. Faced with time-sensitive demand for shells, Russia discarded its old policy and struck a direct deal with North Korea. North Korea's total export in 2023 was around $2.5B. Russia paid at least $5.5B for North Korean shells. They've expanded the relationship. Troops and workers go to Russia. Russia helps with military modernization and more. China of course does not mind this new rapport. Takes some economic weight off their shoulders. But you can note the dynamic relationship between what should be three very tight allies. If Iran, today, decides to get a nuke as North Korea did in the mid 2000s, Russia will do nothing. It will however tell the Hegemon that it wasn't particularly pleased with Iran's decision. It wouldn't declare war on Iran, nor will it end all cooperation but there'll be theater that's simultaneously legitimate and performative. For reasons best known to the Mullahs, they've decided not to acquire a nuke. That is their decision. They have a right to it. I and billions more disagree with this decision, but we're only observers. Russia is now in a historically difficult spot where they have to simultaneously be against and implicitly be indifferent about Iran's nuclear program. Like China was throughout NK's ordeal. Publicly, China was against NK acquiring a nuclear weapon. Clandestinely, they were facilitating the transfer of nuke tech from their program and Pakistan's program to NK. But it wasn't always performative, CCP general secretary Hu Jintao did send Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing to negotiate with Kim Jong Il to halt the nuclear program. China has a formal defense treaty with only one country. North Korea. So it does not implicitly believe that North Korea needs a nuclear weapon when NK is vital to China's national security. To Beijing, its defense treaty is a sufficient ironclad guarantee. Maybe NK can toy with nuclear development for strategic reasons, but a nuclear weapon wasn't necessary in China's opinion. But like Israel, NK got nukes anyway. Make you wonder why Iran arrogantly refuses to get one when Israel and NK with their respective ironclad security guarantees opted to get nukes. In my opinion, I feel the times have changed, and these smokes and mirrors are not necessary anymore. If you recall, China adopted that stance because it desired big concessions from the US. Admission to WTO. Transfer of global manufacturing to China. Favored trading status. It was on a path to an economic miracle, and it did not want the Kims f*cking up their plan to raise 600m from poverty. Since we're pushing for a multipolar world and the Hegemony is right now prosecuting wars to scuttle this new paradigm, you'd expect that these old conventions would be history. Stick to the Iran has a right to nuclear enrichment that has been the public position for decades at this point. Why flip when the Hegemon is killing Russian soldiers in a proxy conflict? That is emasculating. One would say cowardly. It's not that Russia is saying we'd stop ongoing construction of nuclear reactors. Putin sees an opportunity to make Iran a client state and he is pouncing. Right as China is displacing Russia as Iran's primary partner. If Iran cannot enrich uranium, and have to get it from Russia, that's phenomenal leverage for Russia. It is astonishing that Putin does not see the similarity of his flipped position to Tsarist Russia and its bitter history with dynastic Persia. Of all the times to do this, he chose after Iran had performed admirably as an ally in Russia's war and in the middle of Western aggression on Iran. Maybe he thinks since everyone is taking turns in swindling the mullahs, he should have a got? Needless to say, it is a stunning own goal. Russia will not lose sleep if Iran somehow ends up keeping its enrichment capability after more rounds of conflict or negotiations. It wouldn't care if Iran got a nuke, Medvedev said about as much. That's just the nature of geopolitics. But there was an opportunity to turn a page here on Iran-Russia relations that appeared to have been entering a new golden age after Syria, Ukraine, and large materiel orders. And Putin blew it spectacularly. PS: And yes, that article does a fine job of tarnishing Putin and Russia's reputation on the global stage. Israel has undeclared nukes and the US backs their every action but Russia is at least appearing to actively deprive Iran, a so-called close ally it claimed to had offered a defense agreement, of a premier security guarantee for a mix of selfish and untenable reasons. It's pretty much the press version of "Global South, is this your champion?" PPS: Iran has publicly disavowed the report. But that's pretty much par for the course. I am eager to read the Kremlin's response. It'll be instructive if they finally abandon the public veneer. Because at least publicly, they still maintain that Iran has a right to a peaceful nuclear program, which at least implies semantically that Iran has a right to pursue nuclear enrichment. Privately, however, I am certain Putin has communicated his acceptance of a potential paradigm where Iran does not conduct enrichment. I don't think he'll appreciate this new geopolitical pressure but he made his bed. -Lord |

usmanpogo:They've also tried to do this with China by the way. Early China jet, engine, and AD programs have Israeli inputs and even Western input acquired via Israeli agents. Done primarily to get China to be less supportive of the Palestine cause than they were before the Sino-Soviet split. All of this was pre-Xi though, so the status of this "clandestine cooperation" does not have recent entries. Especially in light of the renewed US-China confrontation. It is why the only likely sources for transfer of nukes to Iran are North Korea and Pakistan. Pakistan is uncertain. They were foes in Afghanistan. Pakistan backed the Taliban and Iran backed the US coalition. Leaving pretty much North Korea as the only source you could bet on transferring nukes to Iran in a pinch. The list of reasons why Iran should acquire a nuke is endless. Israel and NK acquired nukes even though they have firmer security guarantees from superpowers. But the hubris of our dear mullahs will escape the biggest black hole in the universe. -Lord |

LordAdam16:You're right that the JCPOA recognized Iran's right to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes, and Russia supported that agreement back in 2015. They didn’t object to Iran enriching uranium up to 3.67% under strict monitoring by the IAEA. But things have changed since then mostly because Iran is now enriching uranium far beyond JCPOA limits, up to 60%, and restricting international inspections. That’s much closer to weapons-grade material. Russia hasn’t openly condemned Iran for this, but it also hasn’t supported those actions. In fact, Russia has been calling for all parties to return to the original JCPOA terms. So why the change in tone? It’s not that Russia suddenly agrees with U.S. or Israeli demands. It’s that Russia, simply put "doesn’t want Iran to develop nuclear weapons" not because it’s siding with the West, but because a nuclear Iran could trigger a dangerous arms race in the Middle East. That’s a threat to Russia too, especially since the region is close to its borders and Russia has relationships with both Iran and countries like Israel and Saudi Arabia. Also, there have been credible reports especially during the original JCPOA talks, that Russia offered to store Iran’s enriched uranium or even supply Iran with pre-enriched uranium for peaceful nuclear use. This would let Iran keep its nuclear energy program without building up large amounts of enriched uranium inside the country. That proposal was seen as a way to build trust and prevent weaponization. And yes, Russia has previously offered to take enriched uranium from Iran and possibly convert it back for civilian use, as part of a compromise. This isn’t about “betraying” Iran. It’s about Russia protecting its own interests while still opposing Western dominance. Multipolarity doesn’t mean automatic support for everything a partner does, it means acting independently, even if that means disagreeing sometimes. While the United States particularly under the leadership of Donald Trump has often acted with a sense of bravado and impunity, believing it can dictate terms on the global stage, it is, in fact, Iran that has significantly complicated the situation by being slow-witted. Initially, Iran agreed to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) based on concerns surrounding nuclear proliferation and in exchange for sanctions relief. Trump’s subsequent actions namely his decision to withdraw from the JCPOA stemmed from the deal's failure to address critical issues such as Iran’s ballistic missile program and other classified activities. His administration aimed to negotiate a more comprehensive agreement that would effectively eliminate any pathway for Iran to eventually acquire nuclear weapons. Now that Trump has returned to office and has attempted, through arrogant diplomatic channels, to bring Iran back to the negotiating table, progress has been sluggish. With reports suggesting that Iran is mere days away from achieving weapons-grade nuclear capability, Trump had to bomb Iran to look strong. Let us be clear, Iran has repeatedly claimed it has no intention of developing nuclear weapons. If that is truly the case, then the presence of uranium enriched well beyond civilian energy needs despite Iran’s commitments under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) raises serious questions about its intentions. Iran cannot acquire nuclear weapons by accident. It is a deliberate path, one that requires either a firm commitment to abandon all military nuclear ambitions or a decisive move toward them. There is no ambiguity in such a consequential choice. This is one of the rare occasions where Russia and the United States appear to be aligned in their stance. Acquiring nuclear weapons will now prove significantly more difficult for any nation. |

⚡Among the targets for the attacks on Slovyansk yesterday were a station for repairing and re-equipping vehicles. The station was civilian but had a contract with the AFU. Another target was a temporary deployment point of the 18th brigade of the National Guard, which is permanently stationed in the city and frequently targeted by glide-bombs, MLRS and Geran-2 drones. The aforementioned places were targeted by KAB glide-bombs. It's still unclear what the MLRS targeted.

Masterviolence:The b0t erased the longer retort. All I read are feeble excuses for treachery. Israel has about 100 nukes. Pakistan has near that number. Turkey has NATO nukes stationed on its soil. Saudi Arabia is covered by Pakistan's nuclear umbrella. What phantom arms race are you talking about? All Iran wants is a measure of the same security its geopolitical rivals have and Putin is dropping lamba. Iran is a F***ING ALLY that was one of the few amongst 180 nations who directly and timely delivered missiles and drones to Russia in its war. How is that not enough for Russia to simply stick to its previous position of going back to the JCPOA deal with Iran retaining its right to nuclear enrichment? How can Putin be crowing about the failures of the rules-based order while it validates and assists its foe's illegal, unjustifiable attack on Iran's nuclear facilities and military command. An act that is expressly forbidden under the NPT. And worse doing so while the US kills tens of thousands of Russians. I say all of this even though I don't read much into those private statements. China has adhered to some of the sanctions placed on Russia, yet it has a no-limits partnership with Russia and is actively supporting its war. But you simply cannot expect to take those postulations serious. That Putin has legitimate reasons to be treacherous with his ally while they're both literally sustaining casualties in their hot conflicts against the same foe. It stinks MV. Let me emphasize this point. Putin's treachery DEFINITELY contributed to the US/Israel believing Iran was sufficiently isolated and that they could conduct a brutal regime change operation. How is this different from Ghadaffi and Libya? Everyone talks about, oh, we made a mistake, we would do things differently, but then get the chance to do things differently and they're validating US attacks and regime change operations. Or does Putin seriously expect anyone to believe that he is naïve to the consequences of Iran giving up its right to nuclear enrichment while the US/Israel are publicly and militarily pursuing regime change in Iran. He has no excuse and you have none either. -Lord |

LordAdam16:At the bolded, I got rolling with laughter. That man head no correct again o. Iran is preparing, no doubt, but the question on everyone's mind is have they solved the counterintelligence problem? This is paramount because, if Netanyahu is planning for a gambit 2.0 within such a short period, then he probably have some leverage within Iran that he is banking on. Otherwise, he would really be a mad man to start another round of attacks when he knows how devastating the outcome could be for his country. Iron dome, David Sling, and Arrow 3 ADs platforms are all short of interceptors. Patriot batteries missiles are so depleted that the US only have 25% left in their stockpile. For THAAD, the situation is even more critical. Even if production license is to be given to Israel to produce some of the missiles like for Patriot and THAAD, it will still take months to roll out significant amount, which may not even be enough, considering the sheer amount of ballistic missiles and drones Iran usually fires per salvo. So what's Netanyahoo man banking on this time around?. The odds seems to be against him. But if we are to go by his own crazy mindset, he either has a weapon of mass destruction plan or an unknown leverage deep in Iran that would be activated to do the dirty work. Anything short of this will be pure insanity. |
| Re: Russia-Ukraine War: World News, Weapons & Battlefield Discussions - Live by Masterviolence(m): 9:58am On Jul 13, 2025 |
LordAdam16:This is the first time I’m hearing claims suggesting that Iran now seeks the same level of security guarantees afforded to its geopolitical rivals and that Putin is supposedly lending lamba. It’s surprising, given that the Iran I’ve long been familiar with has prided itself on self-sufficiency, often projecting a stance of defiant independence and minimal reliance on external powers. As for the allegation that Russia has failed to uphold Iran’s right to uranium enrichment, this strikes me as another unfounded narrative. Historically, Russia has consistently backed Iran’s right to enrich uranium strictly for peaceful, civilian purposes. However, the situation has changed and Iran is now enriching uranium to levels consistent with weapons-grade material, a move that Russia does not endorse. According to Axios, Putin has privately expressed support for a zero-enrichment policy in Iran. Meanwhile, Iranian officials have publicly denied receiving any such communication, and neither Putin nor the Kremlin has made such a stance public. Given the absence of clear, verifiable statements, it’s reasonable to regard these claims as yet another manufactured narrative by Iran’s adversaries. Personally, I believe it's prudent to reserve judgment until there is tangible, public evidence not mere whispers and speculation. And what exactly prompted this emotional reaction? When has Putin ever endorsed U.S. airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure or military command? You also mentioned that China has honored some sanctions against Russia despite their “no-limits” partnership. But understanding the game of geopolitics, has China explicitly supported Russia’s war in Ukraine? Have they provided military aid in the same way that Western nations continue to arm Ukraine? What, precisely, do you mean by “actively supporting the war”? Is it bilateral trade you call support? China's dependence on Russia's resources and Russia on Chinese technology. Once again, it feels like you’re echoing Western talking points, narratives crafted, in part, to justify sanctions on Chinese firms simply because they maintain trade ties with Russia, and this pose a direct threat to the their interests in Ukraine. Even Ukraine trade with China and they get drone tech from them just like the Russians, does that mean China support ukraine too? Furthermore, I sense that when the topic shifts to Iran, your tone becomes noticeably emotional. To put it simply: since Iran’s strategic partner, Russia, has declined to support its pursuit of nuclear weapons or weapons-grade enrichment, Iran may now look to China to fill that role. If China chooses to back Iran in this regard, then Iran could eventually acquire the nuclear deterrent you argue is essential for its security particularly given that other regional powers either possess nuclear weapons or benefit from the protection of a nuclear umbrella. That said, it's worth noting that Iran has, on numerous occasions including as recently as yesterday reiterated that it has no intention of developing or acquiring nuclear weapons calling it inhumane and unislamic. So one must genuinely question why Iran continues to enrich uranium beyond levels required for civilian purposes if it truly has no intention of developing nuclear weapons. I’ll reiterate my point, Iran must either fully commit to acquiring a nuclear deterrent or abandon the entire program altogether. There is no middle ground. North Korea stands as a clear example of what decisive action, one way or the other entails. |

Masterviolence:Yea, this is worse than the penultimate response. No, the only options available to Iran are not acquiring a nuke or abandoning the entire program altogether. That is untrue. Has Japan abandoned its entire program altogether? You're trying to twist yourself into pretzels to make excuses for Putin. I'll save you some trouble. There is none. No allow Putin stain your white. We made a light joke out of Lavrov offering to sell enriched uranium when he should be transferring jets and AD systems. While Iran already enriches uranium. We can connect dots. We know obvious fake news. This is not that. And do not take this as a personal attack. All I'm saying is that this is not the hill to die on. If a Western report opines that Xi has told the US and Europe that he privately told Putin to accept an unconditional ceasefire, which we all know is a terrible move; everyone will be like f**ck off with that BS. We've seen Kim's response. On both Russia and Iran. We've seen Xi's response. Why always Putin? Iran has been having regular tripartite meetings on this nuclear issue with China and Russia. It had two in short succession while the negotiations showed promise. The meetings were arranged to coordinate the Axis position. That position was Iran's red line on enrichment. The Axis has a unified position but Putin and Lavrov are playing devil's advocate and undermining it. So if a war starts with China today and everyone in the Axis agrees on one position, they'll start dropping lamba about Russia's European roots and what not in the middle of the fighting. As far as I'm concerned, if they do not have weapons to deliver, they should shut up, take several back seats, and focus on Ukraine. -Lord |

⚡Russia, the world's second-largest gold producer, wants to free itself from the dependence of gold prices on the London Stock Exchange. To achieve this, it plans to launch gold trading on the St. Petersburg Exchange by the end of the year. One of the main objectives of the exchange when launching a new market is to ensure the formation of representative indicators of a competitive market price. Until recently, gold market participants relied on price benchmarks set by the London Stock Exchange. However, in recent years, the Russian government has set the task of creating a national system of price indicators for key commodity groups, which certainly includes precious metals.
