Nigerian churches have proven God right in that case.
God doesn't dwell in churches because of God does, wike won't be insulting people repeatedly across churches. It's your personal relationship that matters.
And God is not interested in your money or material things but your service to humanity.

At least maintain close relationships with other children of God and discuss God, love and how to love others more and better and obey God's will for your life.

Very good decision. One step at a time
Leaving organised religion still remain one of the best decision I've ever made in my entire life. Though I still miss some things about them, especially the socialization aspect and working in group as a family.

Same thing applied to me, it was burning while growing bit now I felt relax without any guilt, but am getting the aura back, am reigniting back the fire.

God is not in church but our hearts and everywhere, find a way to connect as an individual and do not leave your faith and salvation in the hands of charlatans parading as God's of men

I have not been to church since 2019, and I feel so good! Church is 99% a routine for the the goers. Spirituality has nothing to do with going church. Jesus said to the woman at the well, that a day would come when they would neither go to the temple nor the mountains to worship God, but would worship God in spirit and in truth. That day has since come.


People keep citing "Let us not forsake the gathering of brethren"

Meanwhile this gathering is not defined anywhere that it is in the form of going to a place every Sunday. You can actually gather in the houses of brethren from time to time to encourage one another and not the regimented churches establised my money mongers and power intoxicated fellows.

Not only you bro, in my area I have observed that majority of my neighbors no longer go to church especially my Igbo brothers, they play football and drink heavily afterwards, the exploitative nature of our pastors and the commercialization of churches has killed the zeal for church going, so people now go to churches for different reasons, boredom, contacts, friend making, money soliciting, business and fashion display etc, a lady told me recently that she doesn't have anywhere to wear her numerous best clothes to apart from the church

i dont, both are the word of God. The old testamemt talked about Jesus while the New testament is the fulfillment. Anybody differentiating them is an Antichrist.

Churches these days confuse one the more.

A Chosen woman invited me to their church for a Crusade. It was at their Headquarter Ijesha. So I obliged and went for the Crusade. One day My own Church All Saints Anglican Church Surulere had her own Crusade and I invited her, I was shocked at her respond. She said, 'God forbid! How can I leave light and go to darkness'

That was the day I lost it for Churches in Nigeria

Lolz, you know the owner is from the land of the aggressive persons in business so Thier own is always better than any other ones. But seriously looking at them been too poor in the society and wearing reflective up and down without shame makes me see them as business people struggling to survive. It's a pity sha. But God has no church anywhere. Only manmade and imagination.

I feel situation like this arises when one attends church that is lukewarm. Sadly, many churches are lukewarm. Every Sunday feels like a routine and you feel like you are not missing much if you don't attend for one Sunday. Before you know it, one Sunday becomes two, then more. The zeal for going to church just dwindle and then die.

OP, you need to find a church that carries fire, especially the way they do their services and the culture surrounding the church when it comes to the word, praying, fasting and the doctrines. I pray that the holy spirit directs you to a church that would cater for your desire for God. You also need to pray to God to direct you to the church that would help you build a strong relationship with him. You get what you desire. If you really desire to have a local church that would help you grow, pray earnestly about it. God will surely direct you to one that would cater for you.

You don't really need church per se....what you need is assembly of believers.

You can gather people around you n share God's word. We ve turned ⛪️ to physical building

You've seen the light. It's not your fault at all. Nigerian churches are the main reason people get tired of going to church.

I'll just advise you to attend church for fellowship purposes. You already know going to church regularly is not the reason why you become financially successful in life. Just do it for fellowship.

Last year Lost a Job interview because i was a Christian but not a temple Member of the organization church... I told them i was ready to be a member for the sake of the Job .. the HR on the panelist said NO! i should first identify with the Temple...

The name of the Organization is "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints"

Too many different doctrines in Christianity... But Moslems are so consistent with there beliefs...

Haven’t been to church since the crossover night of 2023 31st dec - 2024 jan 1st

I love to just chill on Sundays, relaxing. I can't be stressing myself very early on a Sunday morning after having a hectic weekday plus Saturdays at times. Thankfully I can attend evening mass during the week so to me its not a must to go on Sundays.

I believe so far your relationship with God is good and you treat your fellow humans fairly, its not a must to go to church every Sunday. Some take church as a social club, some go on Sundays cuz they don't want people to start asking questions on why they didn't go. Nobody can dare ask me any question when its not like I come to beg you for anything so why would you want to dictate how I live my life. Whatever I choose to do on Sundays is between me and God and a pure heart is better than marching to church on Sundays.

I love how you said "according to me" and used "I" throughout.
Unfortunately, as a Catholic that you are, it's not about me and I. It's rather about Christ and His church. It's a divine law to observe the sabbath day which is now Sunday the day of resurrection. It's also an ecclesiastical law to attend mass every Sunday and failure to do so are mortal grave sins.

I also have my own sins i try so hard to justify with my own personal beliefs. But after a while i realise I'm deceiving myself and just looking for ways to continue in the wrong thing i want to be doing.
