frankson1:How many Lagos State indigen are holding political positions in Osun state? Remove the planks in your eyes my friend. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 |

Irony1:And why must I contest? When the people of Ibeno in Akwa Ibom noticed the Ilajes from Ondo State dominating their space, do you remember what happened? There was a serious conflict. Bro, you’ll have a problem with your host the moment you start poking your nose into their local politics. Or weren’t you in Nigeria when Bianca Ojukwu, the wife of Ojukwu, contested for a senatorial position in Anambra? She was quickly reminded that she’s from Enugu and only married an Anambra man. And mind you, that was Southeast vs Southeast. But you expect the Yorubas to allow such without resistance? Anyway, maybe you’re not aware, three Igbos in the past contested and were elected into the House of Representatives in Lagos. But many of these modern-day Igbo youths were either too young or not yet born to know that. It’s when some of them started misbehaving or being disrespectful, that the host communities began pushing them out of their local politics. |

Smartcitizen:No reason too. There have never been any public statements disallowing Lagosians from participating unlike there have been in anambra. We respect each other and act with order. We don’t go to other tribes demanding to govern them. Build your support organically in Lagos and maybe we will see an Igbo governor one day, until then let the locals in states you have migrated to, decide who leads them. |

Smartcitizen:You are asking the wrong question, it should have been how many Lagos state indigenous are living in other SW states..few I will say. In the Southwest as long as you are esterblished in a state or town, we dont care about your original state of origin, you can become anything, we don't scrutinise about the flavour or type of your Yorubanese .. That is the point the guy was making while asking Ibos if an Ebonyi man can become anything in Anambra. Now I heared that under governor Obi, not only must you be from Anambra, but you must also be from the Catholic Church to hold any significant position. We in the SW dont do that |

ZoomTravels:At times when you say things like this, it makes me laugh very loud because you are just talking from the point of illusion. In the first place, I've worked and lived in Lagos and Ogun (Ota) and I know a lot about your people. I swear with everything that you have never lived in the east and as such most of these statements you are making is based on hear say and I want to bet you that if anything will bring you to the east and you challenge yourself to mix up with our people, you will never want to go back to your place again. I've never seen any Yoruba man pick a party form, meet people and truly show willingness to contest election before here because they are always feeling uncomfortable with other people. I've seen a Rivers, Akwa Ibom at least won election here in Abia but the Yorubas are always behaving like orphans, what do you want us to do to them. If we are denying them space here , are they also denied spaces in the Niger Delta and core north too? You need to up your relationship with other people please... 🤣🤣🤣🤣 |

loffyloffy:If we are denying you those opportunities in the east, how many of you people are contesting election in the Niger Delta and core north? Political positions are not dashed, you fight for it just like our people are fighting it out with others anywhere we find ourselves and doing our businesses. 🥱🥱🥱 |

ZoomTravels: Tychost:In Nigeria, it is where your father is from that you contest for elections... not where the person is born... so at the very worse, the person will need to have a Yoruba father from Lagos. so stop saying nonsense. |
| Re: Ohaneze: Igbos Deserve To Hold Political Offices In Lagos by codemaniacs: 4:11pm On Jul 13, 2025 |
WizardOfNG:Yorubas today generally do not want Igbos gaining political positions in Lagos because Yorubas know that the non-Yorubas that already hold political positions in Lagos don't do anything for the Yoruba population in that L.G.A and the non-Yorubas will try to stop Yorubas from getting their political positions back which means that unborn Yoruba children will not have the opportunity to hold these political positions.. |

Smartcitizen:Why swear with everything I have? Surely you have done well for yourself. I literally served there, and lived around chime avenue for a while (getting water was hell most days, don’t get me started on those street sellers with fake soft drinks). In fact when I returned to Ibadan, I was tasked with assisting in opening a new warehouse for a B2B company in Enugu state based on my knowledge of the place, so talk to a fresher not me I have many Igbo boys I have put on game about traveling in south east Asia and Australia back in the day before they all cast everything. I have been traveling even long before I returned to the country to do my service and build myself up before leaving the country again. This attitude that you all have that you are the only ones to ever travel or venture out of your comfort zone is just based on beer parlor stories you all have told yourself. In one sentence your brothers are saying Yorubas contest in Kano state alongside igbos and here you are talking about Yorubas not “feeling comfortable “. We give you your space and acknowledge the fraught history of the country that has politically marginalized your people, so why would any Yoruba think that would be a great place to contest for anything? While some from Rivers state (N.B Wike) might be able to associate themselves culturally with you, there is a glaring difference between you and the Yorubas culturally and we acknowledge that by giving you your space. I digress because you Gen z igbos are definitely raised on a us against them mentality and comprehension of basic human decency will never apply to y’all. |

codemaniacs:Same user here, So actually, I think like me you also agree that Yorubas should be the contestant but inability to read and comprehend (a major identifier for a Gen z) has made you to conclude I support the ohanaeze position. Now if we are going to be factual and I am sure you have access to the internet and all the information contained in it, state the exact law in the constitution of Nigeria that supports your statement. |
| Re: Ohaneze: Igbos Deserve To Hold Political Offices In Lagos by ZoomTravels: 4:41pm On Jul 13, 2025 |
codemaniacs:Still waiting for a response. Ignorance they say is bliss. I don’t support their stance of demanding political positions. But they are constitutionally allowed to contest if they have the constituency for it. That is why years of playing the accommodating neighbor will always have consequences

soullove1881:See let us stop the deceit. The ilaje just came and started taking over the place, it is different from people who are already assimilated to the place. You mentioned misbehaving and disrespectful. Please can you mention how they were misbehaving and disrespectful. Please do not mention No man's land because it is you people that are saying it not igbos. I am waiting. |

soullove1881:Let me correct another lie from you people on Bianca's episode. The opposition to Bianca's nomination came from Ojukwu's family they are the ones who stated that she is not from Anambra. Again it is important that we stop telling lies to prove a point. League of Anambra Professionals and APGA executive opposed Ojukwu's family and stated she has every right to contest the primaries stating that it is the delegates that would vote. Did she contest the primaries eventually? Yes she did. So please let us trying and stop misinforming people. |

SmartyPants:.oga you are the one who is trying to be smart and evasive. I just showed you that even in Kano other tribes contest for elective positions, so your postulation is already DOA. |

| Re: Ohaneze: Igbos Deserve To Hold Political Offices In Lagos by Irony1: 5:19pm On Jul 13, 2025 |
ZoomTravels:Oga stop trying to half clever this trick no dey work. I spoke about an igbo man contesting and the fact it is the majority of the yoruba population who will still vote him and as such your statement against igbos is invalid. You claimed no one owes us anything and I agree because we didn't come to Lagos to be at the mercy of anyone, whatever we achieved we worked for it. Again note that an igbo man wanting to contest means he wants to serve amd he wants to be accountable to the people they don't owe him anything, but he owes them accountability. |

Irony1:Seriously mate, you’ve really fallen off the deep end on this. Makes no sense whatsoever. Statement stands just in case comprehension isn’t your thing, Yes to any Igbo who wants to contest for anything (they are protected under the constitution) and No to any Igbo socio-political group demanding a spot for igbos. Earn it the way “you’ve earned everything “ (apparently you are the only ones that work in Nigeria). |

Codes151:Stop regurgitating the same stale line. No one gives anyone position. You must contest in a party primaries to represent your party. The thing here is can you mention any documented case where a Yoruba resident in south east wanted to contest under any party and he was prevented to do so because he is not igbo? Please show me, i am waiting. |
