phr0nesis:I knew someone would bring this up. What I meant is that James Gunn has never had below 80 RT score on his comic book movies. You can see the image I posted is his filmography for Marvel and DC. Nothing else. His track record is solid. |

This is why I need Superman to do well at the box office. I need to see this dream come to life.

BlackManta:The idea of multiple TV shows in one year doesn't sit well with me sha. Too much content could dilute the brand. Marvel did it with Disney+ and it backfired.

Biggest preview of the year. Biggest preview of James Gunn's career. Biggest preview for a DC movie post-covid.

Kaycee7:Slow down your excitement for now cause that figure is not really impressive as you may think... That $22.5m grossed you see covered both Wednesday and Thursday. That's movies usually start by 7pm for their Thursday night showing, but this Superman started showing as early as 2pm on Thursday, so it's not really an apple for an apple comparison... We don't really know what its Friday, Saturday and Sunday's numbers might look like, but for now it's not really doing super great. |

What did I watch yesterday!!! Now I believe critics can be paid, cause what I watched was a train wreck to say the least.. Anybody who gave this movie a 4 out of 5 rating is either a fanboy or somebody who knows nothing about movie... This movie is shockingly bad that if I should rank this movie with few other cbm movies it will likely come out last! Yes, you heard me LAST! This movie is as bad as Aquaman 2, Shazam 2 and even the recent Captain America movie... What! How did this movie gets to be 82 on RT is a mystery, cause the whole movie is a mess. I won't be surprised years to come to find out that Gunn have nude pics of majority of critics that rated this movie fresh... Pacing: bad Plot: terrible: CGI: still poor as the trailers. i) The only person I think did a good job in this movie is the guy that did the Barbie's movie marketing and promotion they brought in. How the guy was able to confused (not convinced oh) grown up men that this movie is great (not even good) needs to be studied in higher institution cause that guy is a genius. ii) Luthor hates Superman so much and he had the opportunity to end his life when The Hammer of Borovia knocked Superman down the 2nd time, but he decided to order the Hammer to return back to base. Superman was literally not being able to stand as at that point, but all Luthor could do there was to take a facial capture of the "one" man that decided to help Superman..lolz Luthor's excess hates for Superman in this movie is nonsensical because no records showed or proved why all the hate... iii) It's very silly of a plot to see Lois Lane, without any training flying one of the most advance technological flying object abi plane by the so-called Mr Terrific. I guess Mr Terrific is not all that Terrific. iv) What was the guard Luthor placed in charge of Metamorpho's baby doing when Metamorpho was literally creating a sun-like energy to recharge Superman. Maybe he was sleeping because if not he would have threatened Metamorpho to stop else his baby dies.. Messy subplot.. v) Kaiju was released into Metropolis as a baby but became something a size of some of the tallest sky scrappers with no trace of destruction around. Yes it was stated in one of the tv news that it was seen before now as fewer feet bigger than its previous size, but no way a giant of such will appear on major street without chaos and destructions. Note: that particular scene in the trailer where Superman saved that little girl is one of the most shoehorned scene of all time. How did the girl get there? Not just get there but how she was majestically walking like a princess straight out from Disney cartoon.. No tense moment when people were running for their lives.. If you even look critically you will notice some of the people with smiling faces running ![]() vi) Also, is very funny how the movie often tried to bring in US government into the fold but you won't see any of the US military forces coming out to salvage any of the situations when American lives were being threaten. Now, anybody who watched this movie and come to say this movie is even on the same level with MoS, is either a die-hard Gunn fanboy or the person is straight up delusional ( I do not mean it in an insulting way oh). The movie is messy by honest standard. I had to invite my brother who was not even a fan of the previous DCEU to see the movie with and the guy was blasting the movie from half way till the end. The movie is shockingly bad by all standard and anybody saying this movie is great is lying!!! Just like how Angry Joe in his fan review said the movie is great and gave it a higher score blah blah blah, but when asked to give an honest review he without any hesitation lower his rating to 6/10, despite he's a fanboy oh! I can go on and on, but if I should rate it then it's not getting anything higher than 5/10.. This movie will definitely age like milk Epic cinema is dead!!! |

SMUAG:One deluded Ikorodu box office analyst even said $1B.... The movie was projected around $300m last week, earning 217m is really underwhelming to projections and will struggle to reach $500m... |

MSGAMBLE9:I don't even care about the money they movie will make, but honestly speaking the movie is very bad... The quality and visual effects are just slightly above CW Superman and Lois that was just concluded. People are hyping the movie for interior motives. They either want the movie to succeed by any means (wether it's bad or not) or they are just trying to hating on Snyder's MoS. Aside that, I don't see any reason. The movie is meh at best. Using generic to classify the movie is like over estimating the word "generic".. It's below that word for a movie people hyping the best Superman movie of all time... |

It's a pity that people with smart phones at their disposal do not really know how to use them... For the records the numbers this movie brought in is fairly okay and I advice guys like you to do more research work... $217m is not a sign of good things to come, especially the drops from Saturday to Sunday.. Though I don't blame you guys, you definitely don't know anything. Just to clear your doubt a bit; the MoS most of you saw as a failure did command a better Thursday to Sunday domestic numbers than Gunn's Superman. Also, MoS international releases were not on same day so it can't be said to do less than Gunn's Superman world wide where like 95 % of its international were released same day as its North America release... You guys should please, learn more... |

SMUAG:How about the new $220 it brought in? Is it okay? |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by Xavier5(m): 4:19am On Jul 15, 2025 |
pu7pl3:Superman opened with $220 million worldwide and $125 million domestically, outperforming Man of Steel’s $196.7 million (worldwide) and $116.6 million (domestic) opening — yet some people are still claiming it’s underperforming? Let's be serious. If this is what a ‘flop’ looks like, then Man of Steel was a warm-up act with good lighting. No depressing color palette, no awkward speeches about hope while snapping necks, no unnecessary Jesus Christ allegory — just a Superman film the world actually showed up for. The new DCU is off to a strong start, and it’s clearly bothering a particular group. The critical reviews and audience scores are speaking volume... so if a minority think their noise count, then who am I or we to stop their delusion... 😂😂😂😂😂 #Xavier |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by SMUAG(m): 7:09am On Jul 15, 2025 |
pu7pl3:I will still say not great for a tentpole movie people were literally glazing as the 2nd coming of Christ.. The additional $3m was from domestic and overtime observations have made us to understand that big movie like this needs a very solid and successful overseas numbers to become huge. The overseas numbers are not living up to it and even the so-called domestic number is still less than MoS of 2013 with $3m. Man of Steel's Thursday to Sunday number: $128m Superman's Thursday to Sunday number: $125m Only propaganda can give this movie a long leg and good repetitive views in theatre, cause the movie is very divisive and I can tell you for free that majority of people calling this movie great, perfect, best cbm of all time etc are heavily lying... Also WB and Gunn need to be praying now that F4 is also a poor movie coz if not hmmmm... This Superman will hardly make it to $700m not to talk of the $1b many of them are saying.. |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by SMUAG(m): 7:42am On Jul 15, 2025 |
Xavier5:Die-hard Gunn fans keep proving to us that you guys know nothing honestly... Now learn: Before now box office numbers account for opening weekend usually start from Friday. That's Thursday numbers were often captured separately. That's they are not included to Friday, Saturday and Sunday's numbers... Mind you, then Thursday previews usually start 7pm but currently, especially Superman it started at 2pm (5hrs difference, which for at least extra two viewing time) Man of Steel's Friday to Sunday number: $116m, while its Thursday's number: $12m Superman's Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday number: $125m Now the overseas numbers: Man of Steel: did open with around $84m with like 65% of its overseas markets. Superman: opened with $96m with like 95% of its overseas release.... MoS opening wknd: worldwide number $212m with like 35% overseas markets left to open. Superman opening wknd: worldwide number $220m with only like 5% overseas markets left.. You don't need to go to Harvard University to tell/know the numbers are not great for the way fanboys spread propaganda about the movie... |
