Roland17:I remember arteta told edu seskô or nothing until deadline when villa have sold Duran we want to buy Watkins from club pursuing European football These guys are unbelievable in defending arteta sha |

iamoyindamola:Yes I agree, but a team like Arsenal should not be depending only on one player in a position. Zinchenko has become unreliable and Tierney was on his way out it was a good thing we have Calafiori even with the emergence of MLS. |

Roland17:So what changed this season? 😂 You're assuming it's Arteta's job to negotiate deals. If a manager provides a list of three players and nothing was done you still want to blame the manager. Will he sign with his own money? Did the board give Edu or Arteta £60m to get a striker and they didn't? In January when it was obvious G Jesus was out of the season? More questions same Answers |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 5:20pm On Jul 14, 2025 |
ObaIgwe1:The only way they could have seen the importance of the Calafiori and Merino signings is if Partey and Zinchenko got injured -AS USUAL. The we would have placed the burden of LB on MLS who was already fumbling with red cards, and Merino to play DM. Then there would be no one to play CF for us. The reason they are not seeing this is because they just don't like Arteta. But don't worry this season they will come around. I trust my manager. |

Spy360:You are trying to side step the question. You claim the board did not back Arteta in January. So I ask, did the board make 60M available in January to sign a striker? Yes or No? |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Roland17(m): 5:40pm On Jul 14, 2025 |
iamoyindamola:They are only half smart with their positions and nail themselves easily. Arsenal made an excess of 60M available in January for a striker and what did Arteta do? Nothing but wait until the final days of the transfer to bid for Watkins. January 2024, Havertz wasn't injured so he wasn't bothered until February when Havertz went down and it was panic mode. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by dominique(mod): 5:40pm On Jul 14, 2025 |
Roland17:I only understand your first question so that's the only one I'll be addressing. It's 100% the board's fault that Arteta did not sign a striker because they did not release any funds. For this window, we're hearing that the board released up to £300m to buy players. That's why him and Berta have been able to go on a spending spree this window. It is now that he has finally been given the resources to buy the squad he had always wanted to build that we can hold him responsible if he fails to deliver this season and e sure me die that he will. dominique:They did not release funds but Arsenal bid 60M for Watkins in the final days of January? Which funds did Arsenal use to make an initial bid of 60 and a 2nd.

MEND001:Arsenal qualified for ucl the same period Chelsea qualified for conference, Arsenal only have 2 ucl season experience prior to this cwc, and couldn't win it last season. So how is that 6 years of qualifying for the same tournament?. |

iamoyindamola:Seriously, they did forget that last summer he went for Merino and Cala while telling everyone that " Jesus train different, Walks different and he is a different kind of striker" " We scored 89 goals last season" repeated songs in the media last August when everyone was clamouring for a CF especially when he sold Nketiah... When he has £65m he went for Kai ( a known Midfielder) 2 years ago... This fanbase has Mentality problems and very Emotional... They are the main problem of the club and would accept mediocrity... |

iamoyindamola:Set awon "we are scoring 5000 goals without a CF", we don't need a striker. Dem suffer us especially DaveP, who was relentless and the loudest voice about this need amongst us. Let us justify the purchase of Calafiori and Merino when we needed a striker and Saka's backup! Na dem! Owners did not back us in January but baba conveniently waited until the last days of January. He did not take it seriously because his foster child Gbavertz wasn't injured until February. Out of no where, we making bid of 60M and over for Watkins and they think Ebening and Villa who were also in UCL will allow it. He tried to run this same strategy with the Sesko chase but Berta outsmarted him with Gykores chase. He would have forced Edu to continue chasing shadows with Sesko and come back with nothing but Gbavertz and Sicbay merchant Jesus! Like Afrodoc always say "We all know what we are doing!" |

Spy360:At least, Maresca competed in those tournaments and won. What has Arteta done in the ones he competed in? Same Arteta competed in lesser Europa league for 3 seasons and couldn’t beat the likes of Olympiacos. It became a lesser trophy to you guys, something the almighty Arteta could not win o. I’m sure if Arsenal had qualified for this club world cup tournament and crash out as usual, you guys will still come up with excuses or call it a worthless tournament. Premier league we cannot win, champions league will cannot win, but we have the guts to undermine other tournaments we have ourself have competed in the past and couldn’t win. Trust the process, trust the process, people taking jobs at other clubs are achieving things in less than 3 years. It would be a thing of eyesore if Amorim get something tangible before Arteta. I wouldn’t be surprised if that happens sha. |

Arteta said he prefers sesko, he led down reason and stats why sesko should be a better option for his system but didn't cancel the idea of Gyokeres at all, and everyone agreed with that. It's out in the open, no be me talk am. Now when the sesko deal was becoming more and more stressed and the player wasn't really interested, he optioned for Gyokeres and even gave a time frame for the deal to be completed so work can start with our new frontman from day one of training. All of dem board members saw the need to go for the two strikers simultaneously and it paid off exactly how they wanted it to play out. But somehow Arteta was OUTSMARTED by Berta |
