He made it clear it's seskô or nothing
Berta job is to work with him and find solution to what we lack
He also said Kai is a starter so we are waiting for him how he will play them
At least we have all agreed he doesn't have excuse
show me where he said sesko or nothing?. I don't do that evidence stiff, but I wan do am this time.

They did not release funds but Arsenal bid 60M for Watkins in the final days of January?

Which funds did Arsenal use to make an initial bid of 60 and a 2nd.
60m can NOT buy a quality striker in today's transfer market. Ollie Watkins resemble world class striker for your eyes? The board didn't release enough funds for a world class striker so Arteta and Edu tried settling for less, thank goodness the deal failed. Nothing against Ollie but he's not the quality of striker we need if we're serious about winning titles

Last time Arteta said kai is a starter was in January after we lost to man utd in fact cup. So i don't understand how a statement that was made before kai got injured and before our pursuit of expensive strikers is still being quoted when talking about next season

Seriously, did they forget that last summer he went for Merino and Cala while telling everyone that " Jesus train different, Walks different and he is a different kind of striker" " We scored 89 goals last season" repeated songs in the media last August when everyone was clamouring for a CF especially when he sold Nketiah... When he has £65m he went for Kai ( a known Midfielder) 2 years ago...

This fanbase has Mentality problems and very Emotional... They are the main problem of the club and would accept mediocrity...
With Harvertz moved from midfield into playing as CF and a fit and in-form Jesus also available to play the position, the pressure to get another CF not better than Nketia last Summer was minimal. So I don't blame the club for last summer business. Cala and Merino are needed for squad depth.

The grouse was the inactivity during January window when it has become obvious that Jesus will not be available for the rest of the season.

But then on a 2nd thought, good CF are hardly available during January window, and getting just any CF might not improve the team as much or better than converting Merino to a CF. Also getting just any CF in January might discourage the board from releasing another money to get a decent CF this summer. Just thinking loud.

na business side of the club, you dey talk about oo. Dat one no concern me as fan wey wan see trophy. After jesus injury and knowing that kai is the only striker and Saka being out too. They all should have been proactive.

Can you and Roland17 give me a link or any evidence to the bold?

It is insane for any serious manager that is not a god to make such demand.

What I read is that he gave a list of 3 players; Sesko was no1 on the list due to his age and Gykores was no 2 on that list.

You guys should not make it look like Berta is forcing a player Arteta doesn't want on him

Unfortunately, fans don't run the club.

With jesus coming back from injury and kai being a monster in the later part of the season before last, Saka replacement was much more needed than a CF. I believe everyone talked about it here. But now the story is that some fans mentioned Nelson when the talk of replacement came back. Nelson wey him loan matter don the buzz since transfer began last summer.

Arteta said he prefers sesko, he led down reason and stats why sesko should be a better option for his system but didn't cancel the idea of Gyokeres at all, and everyone agreed with that. It's out in the open, no be me talk am. Now when the sesko deal was becoming more and more stressed and the player wasn't really interested, he optioned for Gyokeres and even gave a time frame for the deal to be completed so work can start with our new frontman from day one of training. All of dem board members saw the need to go for the two strikers simultaneously and it paid off exactly how they wanted it to play out. But somehow Arteta was OUTSMARTED by Berta
This is how I understand what happened too, I don't understand where 'outsmarting' Arteta comes in.

We are getting somewhere. We have gone from

“It's 100% the board's fault that Arteta did not sign a striker because they did not release any funds”

To

“60m can NOT buy a quality striker in today's transfer market”

Remind me how much we are paying for Gykores again?

My brother, e no shock you? 😂😂

Joke aside, it's a common knowledge that Berta doesn't work on a single target. He usually works not only with plan B but C and D as well. Gyokeres and Sesko were not the only targets. Watkins and Retegui were also part of the negotiations.

Gyökeres deal is €80m, 70m fixed + 10m in add-ons. Gyokeres' agent had to forfeit his 10% commission and the player himself forfeited about £2m in wages and bonuses, that's why sporting agreed for Arsenal to pay €63.5m thereabouts. That's the cheapest you can get for a player of that quality, £60m can never buy a top grade striker in the transfer market.

Okay that was an exaggerating statement
Before the January transfer some fans met Edu and video him asking what his plans was for January which he responded they are planning something
Arteta also made it clear he prefers seskô which was why during the tw we didn't bid for any player until deadline there were news about Watkins
Is that not seskô or nothing

Actually gyokeres was betrayed the club agreed to sell him for 65m
I guess they were expecting bidding war since he's the hottest striker at the moment
Haaland sef no reach 80m when city got him

lol no be the same jor.

Every manager has a preference, but they also have alternatives when the preferable is not available.

Yes he has his preference but in January we badly need a striker, he knows his preferences won't move.
He likes seskô and isak then on deadline he's asking for Watkins
Arteta is good at sending people on goose chase when he already know the outcome

I felt bad that we didn't sign any CF in January too... but then I want to assume none of his preferences was available. It just might be that many options were attempted, but we only heard about Watkins cos Ebening made a noise of it.

I am with you but I think Gykores is done but make we wait for the official. I’d like to see him in preseason games.
