Go school you talk say no. Now I am not saying this numbers are true for Nigeria as heaven knows these people lie on a daily basis but Forex inflow (foreign exchange inflow) suggests progress for a country because it indicates increased foreign investment, exports, remittances, or tourism. This brings more foreign currency into the economy, which can strengthen the local currency, boost economic growth, improve the balance of payments, and build foreign reserves. Overall, higher forex inflow reflects global confidence in the country’s economy.
With the school you went to, can you please explain how all you have mentioned has increased the living standard of living of nigerians?

how has it lowered inflation, reduced corruption, budget padding and wasteful government spending?

Is the Maybre sound really caused by investors?....or increase in oil price? ...and along the line... for om borrowing9?
Re: Nigeria's Net Foreign Exchange Reserve by DeLaRue:
Nearly $6 billion in May alone is incredible.

At this rate, we could hit total reserve of $45 - $50 billion by the end of 2025, something Nigeria has not seen in a long time.

Mr Tinubu has grown the reserve from $4 billion when he took over to more than $30 billion now - in just 2 years.

And yet, some people want to change this government for a gang of desperados in 2027.

Ask them why, they say '...it is a yoruba government'. Smh

So, if Nigeria is doing well, only Yoruba people will enjoy it.

This government emptied Nigeria's reserve even after floating the naira and removing subsidy. Still there's extreme hardship and insecurity.
The problem he inherited from Buhari was huge. 97% of government revenue was used to service debt. Economist frown at any figure beyond 20%.

There was only $3bn in net foreign reserves. Worse, the CBN was owing purchasers of forex $7bn. Ther scarcity of forex was so severe that multinationals were leaving the country.

With the removal of the fuel subsidy, and floating of the Naira, debt servicing now takes up 68% of government revenue.

However, more reforms are still needed.

It will take time for things to improve, to reach the masses. For instance, it took Thailand 5 years to get its GDP in 1996 level after its economy crashed.

Tell me, was this not the same things you told Nigerians for 8 years while Buhari was President? You told Nigerians he was taking time to clean PDP mess, slow and steady, and he will use the second term to achieve more? Who campaigned for Buhari again and convinced Nigerians to vote for second term? Wasn’t it Tinubu?

Now suddenly you’re going to wipe all that away and start listing Buhari’s problems as if you weren’t campaigning for 8 years that he was doing a good job? And now you’re saying the exact same things about patience with Tinubu?

The next thing is. Show me one developed country in the world where leaders who failed are rewarded with another term in office? Just one developed country is all I need. It’s always countries like Africa that a leader will be failing and the citizens are being told “let’s have patience and let him continue because the other candidates may be worse”. How has that worked out for us?

NIGERIA'S NET FOREIGN EXCHANGE RESERVE

2021 — $14.59 billion
2022 — $8.19 billion
2023 — $3.99 billion
2024 — $23.11 billion
May 2025 — $5.96 billion

FX inflows surged by 62 percent month-on-month in May 2025 to reach $5.96 billion, one of the highest levels in recent times.

The post highlights Nigeria's fluctuating foreign exchange reserves, dropping from $14.59 billion in 2021 to $3.99 billion in 2023, then surging to $23.11 billion in 2024, before a reported $5.96 billion inflow in May 2025, reflecting volatile economic policies and market reforms, including the Central Bank of Nigeria's recent shift to automate FX trades starting December 2024 to boost transparency.

Confusion in the data presentation stems from unclear differentiation between annual reserves and monthly inflows, as May 2025's $5.96 billion represents a 62% month-on-month surge rather than the total reserve, aligning with a Q1 2025 net inflow of $15.20 billion reported by Nairametrics, suggesting a rebound driven by investor confidence and diaspora remittances.

Historical context reveals Nigeria's reserves hit a peak of $62.1 billion in September 2008 per CEIC data, yet recent economic forecasts from PwC warn of potential 2025 challenges like naira pressure and GDP growth decline due to global trade tensions, challenging optimistic projections like the $45 billion reserve target for December 2025.

Yeah, living standard just increase because of 1 month of foreign currency inflows…. Some of you with your uncouth attitude never cease to amaze. You asked how such things could affect be a positive for a country, I gave you a direct answer and yet here you are asking me the story of your life. I simply gave you the definition, I never said your life will improve.

By you people, did you also include the millions of Yorubas that also voted obi? Or just because they did not all vote obi, they all automatically turn into bad people? Did you see how you eastern supporters of that man are directly his Achilles heel? Let me guess no south easterner voted APC in the last election right for any political role right? Critical thinking is really not a thing for folks like you, so I digress

Rubbish propaganda. If your reserve is increasing and its not reflected in your exchange rate then its useless.
