CDCFIB Recruitment 2025/26: How I Applied, Passed and Got Accepted into one of the Four Agencies

Following the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) recruitment exercise scheduled to commence on July 14th, 2025, and expected to run for three weeks, we’ve put together this guide to help you prepare effectively. At Techzeel, one of our team members successfully applied and was recruited into one of the CDCFIB agencies and we’ve drawn from their experience to provide valuable insights.

In this article, we’ll walk you through how to apply and increase your chances of getting accepted into any of the agencies under CDCFIB. Whether you’re applying for the first time or you’ve tried before without success, this guide is designed to give you practical tips, common mistakes to avoid, and understand what to expect at each stage.

Before We Get Started: Who are the CDCFIB?

The CDCFIB stands for Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Service Board. It is a Federal Government body responsible for overseeing the Recruitment, Promotion, and General Human Resource Management of four key Paramilitary agencies in Nigeria namely:

1. Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)
2. Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS)
3. Federal Fire Service (FFS)
4. Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS)

Functions of the CDCFIB:

1. Cordinating and conducting recruitment exercises into any of the CDCFIB agencies
2. Overseeing appointments, promotions, and disciplinary actions
3. Ensuring compliance with federal government employment guidelines and quotas
4. Managing training, posting, and manpower development
5. They also ensure that recruitment is transparent, fair and based on merit, and that operations across the agencies are streamlined and standardized.

Getting Started

It was on August, 2019 before the COVID, a relative called to notify me about the ongoing Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps recruitment exercise under CDCFIB. I was directed me to go to the Cyber Cafe with my educational certificate, NIN Slip, passport photograph and a minimum of N1,000 service fee which will be charged by the cyber cafe as at then.

The following day I went to there with my credentials as directed. When I got there the person logged into the CDCFIB official recruitment portal (https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng) where she filled in my details and then submitted. After that, she printed an acknowledgement slip from the portal and gave to me stating that it was for reference in case I was shortlisted into the service.

Shortlisting Stage

Two years after applying on the CDCFIB Portal, I got an official email that I’ve been shortlisted and expected to go to a nearby CBT center in my location on a given date for me to participate in the Computer-based Test for the Recruitment exercise.

I knew that the Computer-based Test was to test my knowledge about the service I was applying for so I prepared for it using the NSCDC Act 2003, and 2007 (Amended) with some other research I made concerning the agency. Kindly note that the shortlisting process usually takes not more than 3-6 months after applying but the 2019/20 recruitment was delayed due to the COVID.

Physical Screening and Certificate Verification Stage

A month after writing the Computer-Based Test, I received an official email on July 18th, 2021. It stated that, following my application and participation in the recent assessment exercise, I had been shortlisted once again, this time for the physical screening and certificate verification exercise. The exercise was scheduled to hold at the nearest training facility of the agency, which for me was the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Training School, Achi, Orji River LGA, Enugu State.

For the physical screening and certificate verification, I was required to come along with the following documents and items:

1. Printout of the letter invitation
2. Printout of Application Confirmation Slip with ID number
3. Original of all relevant certificates, including Date of Birth and Indigene Certificate
4. To appear in white canvas, white vest and white shorts
5. Medical Certificate from a Government Hospital
6. A valid form of identification

This, I adherred to and went to the venue where I met other applicants who also came for the same purpose, we were successfully screened then told to go that we will be notified later on.

Final Documentation Stage

Finally, I was called by a personnel of the NSCDC informing me about the successful application into the agency and told me to check my email address for further directive on the documentation stage. When I checked I saw an email stating that the board is pleased to inform me that I have been shortlisted and invited for documentation and required to go with the following documents/items;

1. Printout of the letter of invitation
2. Printout of Application Confirmation Slip with ID number
3. Original and six (6) copies of all relevant certificates, including Birth and Indigene certificate
4. Eight Copies of normal size coloured passport photograph
5. Pen, Pencil, Eraser (cleaner) and Sharpener
6. To appear in white canvas, white vest, white shorts and Face mask
6. A valid form of identification.

And that was all on my experience on securing a position in one of the CDCFIB paramilitary agencies.

Conclusion

Acquiring a position in the CDCFIB recruitment exercise is more than just employment, it’s an opportunity to serve your nation while building a stable and rewarding career. Also, success in the recruitment process requires careful attention to eligibility requirements, error-free application submission, and preparation for all assessment stages.

Swear if you didnt have connection and got this.

I was part of this process you decribed here, and was in that same NSCDC achi ojiriver for the final stage. during the screening, one of the officials, who represented my state hinted to us to ensure we reach out to high profile politician in our zone, that the final shortlist was called on merit due alot of issue and the new chief that came but it will not end like that, hinting that politicians are fighting for the positions. been my kind of person, who don't believe in such "man know man shiit of Nigeria job placement" I told myself that having reached this final stage I must be called for the documentation owing also that i met up all requirements, so I kept it in God's hand and waited for my succes in the NSCDC. Surprisingly even to my colleagues who were interviewed with me. I was missing out during the call-up for Abuja documentation, many or all of the people I met got it except those in officers category who didn't have father or politician at the top. only other ranks, like olevel applicant and the likes(ND, NCE) that got on merit. forget Nigeria my guy...corruption is highly deepened.

Well, today i am very happy I missed out the overrated shiithole-job

This is why this country desperately needs a Peter Obi to end this madness. The problem is that those benefiting from this madness are doing everything to maintain the status quo.

Among the major candidates jostling to lead Nigeria today, only Peter Obi can clean up this country. Nigeria is due for cleanup. We cannot continue like this.

That's for sure.

Although I didn't have any single connection when I applied, just tried my luck and it worked for me, even my elder sister that got to the Orji river with me couldn't make it to the documentation stage.

Unfortunately, even the Peter Obi is not a serious person. He was supposed to float his own party immediately after the drama in LP.

Now atiku will use money & collect ADC nomination.

INEC is not independent. Only a strong party with many influential people and structure can stop INEC from rigging the election and the incumbent from massively buying votes. If Peter Obi floats his own party, what happened in 2023 will happen again because small parties lack the capacity to protect votes.

She didn't collect the original of the waec certificate she applied with, which we had enough time to do that. Although, she was also pregnant at that time so it's possible either one or both led to her disqualification.
