Funnily, I don't disagree with you. 6 of us in my set made 2.1 at the uni and NLS respectively but one guy in my set (class) that made a 3rd class became a SAN ahead of all of us and if you know the professional fees these silks ask for especially for litigations, you will shudder.

I don’t know where you guys get to see a first class student of “law” in a reputable school, wey still go Law school and would have difficulty finishing a good job, it’s literally impossible. You mean the best graduating student in both certifications would not get a job? It’s impossible bro

Weird thing about guys like this is, they don’t practice for long before they start their own company, that’s the major reason for failure of guys like this, the way they would believe they can run a business, it’s takes more than academics to run a successful business in Nigeria.

A 1st class student doesnt necessarily have a beautiful mind. A beautiful mind is liberated, creative and thinks outside the box. Many 1st class students are boring and deliver exactly what lectureres expect so precisely that they score maximum points. This is very different from being beautifu and creative of mind.

Many such students in this part of the owrld particularly dont turn out to be successful in life.

Most of the more successful people turn out to be pretty average students. Usually because they are more balanced in life socially.

A 1st class does not necessarily mean the holder is an intellectual paragon. It very often means he is introverted and extremely studious, detailed and careful.

It is actually not the grade that really matters, I look at the Integrity mostly. 99% of our lawyers are corrupt.

After all , Gani Fawehimi had 3rd class but was a legal luminary and an epitome of integrity

You think this automatically makes him a good lawyer? All it requires to get this is focus and hard work. The real content is in the field. He might be a terrible lawyer on the field. You may graduate with a 3rd class and be one of the best lawyers.

Thank you. well said. Many dont understand this, I cant count the amount of my colleagues who finhsed top notch in Uni and Law School and remain struggling today. By contrast the most successful have been from pretty average ranks in terms of scores at school.

Gani Fawehinmi had a third class and he became a huge success.
5.0, 6.0 or whatever cannot bring success.
There are many ingredients involved.
